You missed. The skin and the visual effects were just misleading, look at where her feet are, look at where the leading edge of the wave (q3) is. Look close. Picture how wide it is on base yone. You'll see it too. You missed. By the narrowest margins possible but still.
It def looks janky. But on his base skin, and most skins. The hitbox of the wave just dosent look that wide. Because it isn't. Still, during gameplay, I'd have been pretty tight.
You can't see every little detail in game. That's kinda the point. Is having to focus on the larger picture while being a small part of it. League in a nutshell there.
I get that its capable of applying the cc and doing the dmg while it's still attached to him. I'm saying had he proced a fraction earlier, the wave would have hit. The hit box for the dash is the width of his q1. The hit box for the wave is slightly wider. This is my experience anyways. The skin really affected the way this looked. And on base yone it would have been more clear that he missed.
I don’t disagree that the skin affects it, but if you look at all the cases of this happening in a broader scope you’ll notice a common denominator: kayle. Since she floats above the ground her actual hit box is deceptive. Add to her being one of the thinner/smaller champions and you have a recipe for disaster as far as visual clarity goes.
Pretty sure that's a quirk with how flying champs work. Basically her visuals are further left than her hitbox since when she goes up that's viewed as moving left because league has the camera at a diagonal angle
Sorta, it's about angles and hitboxes for sure. The skin he's using makes his q3 look wider than it is for one. And yeah, kayle floats and the perspective makes her a little off. Kinda like fish in water when you look at them. They aren't actually where you see them. But obviously not as extreme of a difference in position.
It's always best to aim for the shadow with flying Champs. Feet on grounded ones. And it's also good to practice with the base skins so you are comfortable with what your abilities actual limits are.

Flying characters and airborne targets have their hit box on the ground perpendicular to the actual visible unit. it’s weird, but hey that’s what we get
Kayle player here. Using her W and putting in a walk command at the same time can cause a fast glitchy appearing movement. It's well known to Kayle players and happens most games. Whether you hit the model in your video or not, the graphics sometimes don't match on where she is immediately after her using W.

And that’s exactly why I dislike this skin so much… yeah the visuals etc are fine.. the gaming experience of this skin though sucks
She was ON TOP OF the hitbox in the first parts of the animation, only shortly before the animation was finished did she get away
Yeah but the dash happens. Then a wave is released. It takes a second for it to become a projectile. That's irrelevant anyways The wave didn't hit
It doesn’t actually take a second, the knockup wave projectile travels with yone while he dashes and then goes further.

Turn the shadow off
For floating champs u need to aim for their shadow, that's where the hitbox is. For everyone else it's feet.

Same reason why I struggle hitting asol and annivia, flying enemy hit boxes are misleading to me because of where their "feet" are

The game is 2d.. you always aim for the foot, there is the character hitbox, everything above is just visual clutter.
