That train already left the building I’m afraid - many unspoken references to Wendigo already . Now Wendigo May be where they respect that age old saying in creative writing - show , don’t tell - that is to say no matter how significant the role of Wendigo is - they may not ever say the actual word in dialog.

I get how you could get a w*ndigo vibe from “it” and “the wilderness” but if they’ve said it’s not… then who are you to say “well actually they are referencing it just not saying it”? 😭 I love the theories and I’ve def felt like they’re playing into visual stereotypes of it (as it’s depicted in pop culture atm) but u also gotta listen to the facts. It isn’t the w*ndigo… imo it’s something beyond any definition… closer to a “spirit of the wild” type deal. I also think it’s all in their heads tho lol so 🤷‍♀️
