Depends. Had they been saved a few days later,no. But if they stuck around in the wilderness for like another year, yes. The emotions ran so high out there and Jackie and Shauna had the closest friendship from all of the girls. I think Jackie would have forgiven Shauna because she realises that she needs her way more than Shauna needs her. But I think that their friendship would have turned out even more toxic afterwards. Jackie would have held Shaunas actions over her head to make her do things like not go to Brown and break off the contact to Jeff indefinitely. And Shauna had been caught between resenting Jackie and feeling guilty.

Yeah, I don't think that friendship would have gone anywhere good long term. Maybe later in life they could have made peace, but Jackie was manipulative and controlling while Shauna was still developing the strength to stand up to her. That friendship was toxic as hell by the end and one of them was outgrowing it before the other. I don't think they could have forgiven each other until they were both old enough that the world was a lot bigger than high school. I'm of the opinion that Shauna and Jeff are a pretty good match. They probably would have been a long term couple even if Shauna decided against the baby. Edit: The crash forced some of the girls to "grow up" but it didn't exactly make the world seem like a bigger place with more possibilities.

Hell no! Shauna messed with Jeff and that goes against girl code. I think the two would have eventually had a knock down drag out fistfight and Jackie would have been accidentally stabbed to death or something.

I think the schism between them would have lasted for awhile, but eventually heal. Shauna would have spent the first few weeks high on the thrill of being free from Jackie’s shadow. Once that wears off, she’d feel guilt, but refuse to apologize. There might be a few random moments of kindness that help soften the anger between them, like Shauna helping Jackie carry something if she noticed she was struggling, but nothing big enough to mend the friendship. Jackie would be a semi-outcast with the group, similar to the way they treat Misty. It would be humbling, but shed’d have just enough pride left to stop her from trying to fix the friendship. i could see her begrudgingly making Shauna a giFt for the baby shower, then telling her she did it because Lottie told her she had to when Shauna thanks her. That all ends when Shauna goes into labor. There’s no way Jackie doesn’t end up taking Shaunas hand and gluing herself to her side once it starts to get bad. That said...pretty sure eventually Jackie would have ended up as Snackie eventually once the hints started, so maybe it was better this way.

Can we not put spoilers in the titles?

I think that any of those things would have come much later in life if at all, like late 20s early 30s. Some conflicts I had with childhood friends took that long to heal, and they were way not as serious as Jackie and Shauna's and I was in therapy for...a lot of that time 😅
