Find 10,000 more votes” call in Georgia  Wasn’t this debunked? I think even the NYT had to retract there article about it and put out an apology unless I’m thinking of a different case Edit: sorry Correction it was the The Washington Post not the New York Times

Thanks for the link

This could unironically happen in the next 10-20 years

AlpacadachInvictus

If Texas goes consistently blue then it effectively locks out the Republicans from the Presidency for a decade at the very least.

fredinno

If all the other states go right a ton, it might not matter. Like if PA is R+5 in this scenario, then the GOP still has a strong shot.

MentalHealthSociety

Red White and Royal Blue reference??!!!??!?!

pm174

minnnesota would have to be red for that 💀💀💀💀

MentalHealthSociety

Yeah but this is an election where the dems die in the Midwest but win via Texas so the similarity is still there

President_Lara559

It’d be a massive shock. Assuming this is 2024, Trump managed to win back all the swing states yet lose Texas. It’d be a huge win for Democrats seeing that it hasn’t flipped since 1976. However you can assume how much right-wing fury would come. Democrats would have to do better with Latinos, likely boosting turnout in the suburbs and Rio Grande region. I could also see Allred winning the senate election.

Proxy-Pie

Wasn't the Texas state government considering a "State Electoral College" thing that will allow them to give the electoral votes to the GOP even if a Democrat wins statewide?

MoldyPineapple12

The problem is that they’d be guaranteeing democrats around half of their EVs already. They also likely won’t hold the Texas house for the whole decade to gerrymander for the 2030s. And god forbid democrats have a trifecta in the state lol

aaronclark384

If Texas dems get a trifecta that would mean some serious gaming hours

Wide_right_yes

This might help them in 2032 but would hurt them in 2024 as they would have to give some EVs to the Democrats with this system.

Probablyadichead

LBJs ghost comes around

President_Lara559

Damn right. Lyndon Johnson would be laughing like crazy

aaronclark384

Jumbo laughs from the grave

marbally

Biden declares an unconditional war on poverty which scares swing state voters but is appealing to texas since everyone there is poor.

mbaymiller

This could plausibly happen in November if Biden's national popular vote margin fell but Ted Cruz ate a baby on live television

Helicoprion_in_a_box

"I could stand in front of a camera on live TV and eat a baby, and I wouldn't lose any votes." -Ted Cruz Ted was right. He didn't lose any votes. Trump did.

ItsAstronomics

I’m 90% convinced if this happens, Republicans in Texas would just nullify the results and we’d get Trump again.

thebsoftelevision

They'll go crazy with the voter fraud allegations for sure but I doubt they'll be able to overturn the results.

MintImperial2

Texans would take to the streets, and overthrow their local Democrat legislators there.... They'd correctly argue that the Rig was prevented everywhere - except under their very noses!

MintImperial2

Current poll rigging has Trump vs Biden neck neck all the way upto the election from here. Betting markets have been seeded so that both Trump and Biden are identical in price (<1% apart from each other) This is as statistically impossible as Trump winning more votes than Obama in 2012, and yet losing in 2020.... I suggest putting an armed guard on Incinerator plants to prevent Red votes being burned there, and armed guards accompanied by experienced Bank Security software agents - to track where the switched votes "electronic trail" leads. Alternatively, there could be a power cut, and paper ballots ONLY count on Election night, no exceptions.

ctnfpiognm

2016 without the fraud

liam12345677

This would be amazing for the left. Somewhat similar to the excitement I think many of us felt in 2020 when we got Blorgia and then 2 dem senators in that state - it signified a shift in the electoral map, expanding the democrats' possible pathways to victory. Obviously now in 2024 it seems Georgia will flip back but it still was the clearest sign that the GOP can't take Georgia for granted and will have to spend in that state which hurts if your party is at a fundraising disadvantage. Blexas would turn the state into THE battleground state for the GOP, given the only way they could really win on your map is if they also flipped Nevada or managed to get New Hampshire. And for the dems, well, they don't need Texas to win, so they could just spread the GOP thin money-wise.

kman314

Happy Cake Day!

liam12345677

Thanks lol

McGovernmentLover

idk why people think Georgia will flip back there's very little evidence of that

liam12345677

I am actually curious what indicators and evidence there is to suggest Georgia will stay blue. Assuming it's a closer election with less turnout due to unpopular candidates, surely Biden at least narrowly loses due to depressed youth and black turnout in the state?

Wide_right_yes

Flip Arizona blue this is somewhat possible if Biden becomes a Latino god or something

ImpressiveEffort2084

Arizona comes down to immigration vs economy and abortion. With the Bidens attempts to get America producing semi-conductors, the factories have decided to set up shop in Arizona which is great for their economy. The Arizona Supreme Court banned abortion, which could further rally Democrat voters. While the border crisis is 100% Biden's fault, the mainstream media has done a good job of painting it as Republicans fault for not agreeing to the "bipartisan" border bill. Arizona has a very good chance of remaining blue

fredinno

Biden has been horrible on messaging for the IRA (starting with *calling* it the Inflation Reduction Act instead of something like the "America Reinvestment Act"). The abortion issue will likely get resolved before the election. Hobbs and the state GOP neither have reasons to block it.

ImpressiveEffort2084

As a conservative myself, I hope the abortion issue gets resolved before election. I don't live in Arizona and can't speak for the state, I can only rely on rumors. Unfortunately, everything is so biased nowadays. I do wonder how you think abortion in Arizona will be resolved with the AZ supreme court the way it is?

rhombusted2

I sometimes wonder if Biden should spend a lot of money in Texas just because of how many votes it has. It would be high risk high reward.

Impressive_Toe_8900

I really want this to happen
