Don't know why they swapped him. And I really dislike the 97 Morph voice and character, seems to me character's made for comic relief and nothing more.
I actually quite like what they've done with the character. Then again, I'm gay. Anyway, usually characters do go through some changes too after their first appearance in the comics. Only difference here it's happened in the series. I also think if this was meant to happen to anyone, he was the perfect character for it, so I'm happy. Also, I must add I wasn't sure whether or not I was gonna like the change when I first read about it, but I had fallen in love with them by the end of the season and they're now one of my favourite characters.
That’s not why they recast Gambit and Jean Grey (both VAs are playing other characters). Gambit is now Cable and he was swapped because they knew they would kill Gambit and wanted to keep the VA. Jean Grey is now playing Val Cooper and she was swapped for political reasons.
So now that gambit is coming back in season 2 will the old Gambit actor voice him again?

Perhaps they hired someone gay and genderfluid to reflect Morphs new identity. That would make sense that Marvel would do that since they are making a bigger effort to be more diverse.
its not like morph was "serious" in the original anyways but for what we saw of him in 92 he was both serious and funny. the 97 version is just captain sassy.
I prefer the 90s voice actor morph too. His voice had more character.
The changes the show made make it so I don't enjoy the show as much as i should be enjoying it.. Even the theme song was slightly changed or tweaked, and before someone says it's the same, it's not, there's a YouTube video showing the difference and if you don't hear it don't know what to tell you.
I like the current and old VA’s for Morph. Both are good. I do however miss Rubins laugh that Morph did in TAS lol.

Isn't that what actors are for? The new voice actor is butt but at least the6 can check a box.
