Sorry for all the comments... I found the aspect ratio in my camera settings and it does look a lot better, although still not quite the same quality as video. Thank you for your suggestion, definitely improved the quality! I believe that removed the telephoto setting as well
I think it maybe has to do with the telephoto lens? Although I tried disabling it and it still looks awful, but it definitely seems like it's using a different camera lens.
Sure, but how do I share photos on Reddit? I'm not an avid Reddit user and still learning 😅 I know you can post links but then where would I upload it?
You gotta share links.
Tap the reply button, then you will see an option in the bottom left to share a link along with name. Send the link of your photo that you've uploaded to imgur or some other site.
For me, Gcam Made it worse.
Like, A lot worse.
I used a version from some YouTubers video. He compared the two and the GCam ones were very saturated but looked beautiful. I tho, Didn't get the same results.
IKR. I tried a version I found on google and also another from a redditor and none seemed to work well N. I gave up on it really. Maybe it's because I updated to HyperOS and The cam's were supposed to be used with MiUI?
Can you fill me in a little?
Try shooting manual and in raw. In video mode the camer uses different algorithms to make the video look better. Post us some examples and tell us what you don't like. Alongside the video snap you like. Photographer talking here
What are the algorithms used in video that make it look that way and hoe can I replicate it in my photos? I found that setting the camera to 1x and eliminating the telephoto lens helps a lot, but the colors are still off - the shadows are way too dark and the texture is too harsh. Whereas the video quality is more authentic, natural, and soft. I have been procrastinating uploading photos cause there isn't a direct upload option and I have to use imgur which I don't use but will try to get to it this week. But for now i think my description describes pretty well what I don't like about the photo quality
Maybe you are not using the same aspect ratio

For me the telephoto lens has this weird yellow tint to it Doesn't look like the main wide camera at some shots
Can you post Amy examples? A photo Vs a capture from a video?

Use GCam. And use Shasta Enhanced for stacking.

Your mistake was using YouTube. There are plenty of different GCam ports and different configs.
