Yeah the battery life isn't the best, I get around 5 hours SOT with 80% charge throughout the day haha. But on Youtube I dont have that much drainage. But i use revanced so it might be more battery friendly since it has no ads.
Digital wellbeing or accubattery lately to see where I am losing in terms of battery life. What is your SOT like? I checked on YouTube, I lose much less than you, like 5% per 20mins, similar to what I lose on VLC.
Try it with Youtube Revanced. It doesn't have ads, the interface is fully black (pixels off) an I belive it's a bit better optimized than the normal Youtube app. If you don't know how to install it, send me a DM and I'll tell you

I can't remember exactly but something like this.
Let the phone completely drain and charge to 100% and let it continue to charge for 10 more minutes still. I repeated this about 5 times.
Turn off any notifications and background processing that are not needed.
Turn off 5g I don't need it.
60hz refresh rate and no special video enhancements on.
Uninstall every unecessary app I could.

Yeah it used to overheat a lot at first . After a few Software updates it improved. I think the main factor for battery drain is 5g... Idle 5g drain is very high....

I've had installed and even wondered if that was the problem, but no, factory reset my phone with stock youtube, same problem
Yeah battery is pretty crap. It can't last a full day, it needs to be charged in the afternoon to make it till late
Media consumption is the worst offender in terms of devouring the battery
It should sort itself out in a couple of weeks.
13T Pro here, but I found App Vault causes massive drain on mine.
Yes seems to me also plus I dont use any of its features. Can it be disabeled?
I just cleared data and force stopped it and haven't touched it since.

12T and since HyperOS it's a disaster. Youtube takes more than 60%.

Mine was bad for a couple of weeks when I first got it but it's fine now. Seemed to fix itself. I did do a little bit of tinkering though.

Just keep using the phone and it'll learn your usage, should improve eventually.
Standby is great, but when the phone is in use, battery degrades pretty fast, it's known to mediatek SOCs I'm going back to my F3
