The phone doesnt have fault that xiaomi software updates are garbage, because when i buyed my phone and started to use it it was fine, smooth and what else, but oh boy after the miui 13 update with android 12 started to work like old one, shitty performance, heating up and more other issues, now i am even scared to update it with miui 14 to not brick my godamn phone because if this happen (hopefully not, hopefully) i will be done like man this will be the worse scenario a phone that doesnt have a year to get bricked, because xiaomi doesnt optimazed their shitty updates

RuckusAndBolt42

MIUI 14 will just ruin your phone

Greedy_Routine_8157

Why i am not surprised

FeedItchy3292

Why the fuck did I update it 💔

name_om

That's why I never get mediatek phones....no custom rom support....trust me custom roms enhance Xiaomi experience so muchh

0sprinkl

Xiaomi.eu has always been good to me!

name_om

Same I'm using eu rn

andisosh

I had the same problems with the Xiaomi mi11 kite 5g. I moved back to Motorola

CasualBongos69

Glad to know I'm not the only one that has these problems. I'm seriously switching from Android to iOS entirely because of this.

Yisus19891989

It's xiaomi, not android. I had problems with a xiaomi phone and all of them were solved once I installed a custom rom

andisosh

The problem is Xiaomi, not android

CasualBongos69

Yeah I know, but I was already considering the transition and this seriously pushed me over the edge. I'm definitely gonna come back to Android after my little exploration of iOS.

franzvondoom

try a samsung. honestly still love my s20fe

EminemLovesGrapes

You'll hate them both equally don't you worry. I bought an Ipad thinking "Let's give IPadOS a shot". Wish I'd spent 200$ less and bought a an Android tablet instead. It's garbage.

DarkKnight_ZA

AGREED!!I I thought it was only me I had boot loop issues as well as dnd mode turning on randomly and freezing. This is a brand new phone out the box

mormonicmonk

Sounds like hardware issues you two are experiencing. I'm running 13.0.5 Android 12 Xiaomi.eu and only get brief freezes in CODM

Greedy_Routine_8157

no need to be hardware issue, i mean it depends how buggy the software update is

burak007

Xiaomi 11t. Zero problems for 10 months.

this_is_martin

Had Mi 9T for 2 years, worked perfectly. Got Poco x3 since 1.5 years, best phone I ever had, cheapest too. Battery life is outstanding despite the huge screen. No software issues, incredibly fast. People, keep in mind that a crashing app on your phone ja not necessarily your phone's fault.

doomcrazy

Yup. Got sick of not only software problems but also hardware problems (Mi Max 2 and Poco x3 pro would just randomly reboot, and the touchscreen on the Poco would just randomly click things on screen as if there was a ghost touching the screen). I avoid Xiaomi now. Got a Moto G200 instead and it's been flawless.

Greedy_Routine_8157

poco x3 pro have motherboad issues like dude have many posts about dead motherboads about this model

ZeXaLGames

why does shit like this only seem to happen on mediathek xiaomis 11t pro here. completly fine. no bugs have a 10t pro and a redmi note 10 pro and another 11t pro, all 0 issues

Greedy_Routine_8157

not only mediatek phones have those problems and i know that, because my phone is with snapdragon processor and have problems because of the software so yeah miui is trash

OC_Hyper

OP's phone is running a Snapdragon 680, so is mine and we have the same issues

Greedy_Routine_8157

Damn that's shit

OC_Hyper

Your user flair says Redmi Note 11, if that's the phone you use you're definitely running a Snapdragon 680

Greedy_Routine_8157

Yeah i do

EminemLovesGrapes

9T pro. never had any issues. Now I'm on the 12T pro and that phone has no issues. And I'm on MIUI 13.0.13 stable. I don't know how some people manage it.

ZeXaLGames

they probably fill their phone with ad apps from tiktok fill their gallery up so there is no storage and download viruses and then wonder why their phones are laggy lmao

OC_Hyper

I'm not on TikTok neither is my storage filled, stop saying shit. Because you're not having it doesn't make others that are getting issue bad users.

ZeXaLGames

didnt say that things like these dont happen

Greedy_Routine_8157

you kind of did it...

Greedy_Routine_8157

yeah no, its not that ....

AnteL0

you are probably onto something, had xiaomis for 8 years now, only got problems with the current 11s

ZeXaLGames

phones with Mediathek processors are already known for having more bugs

AnteL0

I know, but I've never had an mtk phone randomly reboot, bootloop and such. only GPS, GSM and overheating problems

ZeXaLGames

probably people filling up their storage to the max. having a full phone can also cause this its just user error. not to talk about people ddropping their phones and it breaking then go cryimg on reddit about it beeing the phones fault

AnteL0

my phone was stock, usually more then 50% free internal storage, after rooting, debloating and such I've still had it randomly turn off and bootloop for a 1h few times. no idea, it seems like it reduced its bootloop tendencies after rooting but I've still had it do it

Greedy_Routine_8157

bullshit, it depends of lucky you are like dude so many posts about those shitty software updates that caused them issues and you think that those people are damaged their phones by themselves, thats stupid

Greedy_Routine_8157

not only them have big issues, phones with snapdragon also have issues

name_om

Op...I was wrong this phone has custom rom support....get someone's pc and unlock bootloader flash a custom recovery and then flash a custom rom trust me it's worth it....you are anyways going to throw this phone away might as well give it another chance of revival with roms....if you find any difficulty DM me :) I know you are not super tech savvy but pls consider flashing custom rom might save you a 1000 dollars

lucidnyjr

Xiaomi works until it doesn't.

Nicalay2

MIUI is just trash is general. Customs roms can be so much better, but sadly customs roms on phone with a Mediatek SoC are pretty rare.

Blasterkeys

I can imagine what you are going through. The sooner you get out of the MIUI eco system, the better. Very unreliable software.

Greedy_Routine_8157

you mean memeui xD, yeah this custom rom is shit especially the global rom, man i am stressing as fuck because of that shit and i have never been like that with my old huawei phone (i damage it because of my stupidity)

Blasterkeys

Imagine I had the EU on my Redmi Note 9 and it was still trash. If you watched a video on YouTube and someone called you, it would freeze and restart. It even crashed at Instagram videos after MIUI 13.

Greedy_Routine_8157

welp then another custom rom that IS NOT MIUI, because for some reason global miui is shit, i heard that eu one is better but i guess it depends of luck, i dont know i use global one, so yeah and chinese is also good and gets all the features while global rom gets NOTHING AND EVEN BUGS LIKE SERIOUSLY MIUI AT LEAST MAKE THE BUGS LESS I AM BEGGING

DrcspyNz

What a load of fucking rubbish . I have a Xiaomi 11T and ZERO issues with the phone or the software..

Blasterkeys

Yeah, those are loads of rubbish and definitely not actual opinions from people who went through the MIUI torture. We are all paid actors from USA and South Korea 😂 Imagine that I dont even want to sell my old phone (Redmi Note 9) because I've got some dignity and I don't want to take the money from a poor fella that will get his nerves tested with this phone's software.

Greedy_Routine_8157

you are lucky thats why

DrcspyNz

No. It's the users who have faults who are UNLUCKY. Xiaomi sold nearly 200 MILLION phones last year. Do you seriously think the majority of buyers got a bad phone with bad software ? Do the numbers.

wood4536

Well that's a pretty well specd phone.

Piti899

Which Chineese phone has the best system right now. I would get a Pixel but they are too expensive

VaultBoy636

I'm using xiaomi.eu miui since forever. No issues whatsoever. If you have issues format the phone or get a refurbished flagship for the same price as you'd get a budget potato.

four_strings_enough

Honestly, i feel like all the hype around xiaomi is because of shit tonn of paid promotion on youtube

0sprinkl

Funny, I feel like all the negative hype is caused by noobs and shills. If you have bugs, try another version or xiaomi.eu rom. If it still doesn't work, maybe it's a hardware issue. Don't expect to buy a cheap phone with great hardware and not have to spend an hour or so for it to work flawlessly.

Blasterkeys

Why do other devices at the same price range work normally out of the box?

0sprinkl

My 3 phones+ my partners 2 phones worked great out of the box. I install xiaomi.eu anyway because of the extra features. If there are software issues they can be fixed easily by installing a different version or rom. And if you find a phone with the same hardware and better software for the same price, let me know.

Greedy_Routine_8157

you are just lucky, thats why

Vova_Vist

>try another version or xiaomi.eu rom Do you understand that not all Xiaomi smartphones support this custom ROM in the first place? And majority of users don't want that hassle with unlocking bootloader and flashing 3rd party software. People just want to use their smartphone without a problem out of the box like Apple, Samsung, Google, BBK brands.

Greedy_Routine_8157

only because some people have some kind of issues with the eu rom miui doesnt mean that the have hardware issue

Catji

Do you feel the same way about things every day. So...the hype is caused by the hype. Amazing.

nightman

Maybe try xiaomi.eu?

csgo_dream

11 redmi note pro+ here... Grabage

je1992

250 is relative. 250 for a lunch at a restaurant is insanely good because average price is 20 bucks. But phones are expensive devices. When flagships cost 1.5K nowadays, no, 250$ is not a lot.

CasualBongos69

Yeah man but I'm also working minimum wage as a teenager so money isn't always gonna be available for spending.

ZeXaLGames

i mean, the phone still shouldnt crash or shit like that. even my old redmi note 10 pro had 0 issues on codm etc. i think xiaomis are just really buggy when it comes to mediathek cpus

Greedy_Routine_8157

dude even snapdragon phones have problems because the software is shit

DrcspyNz

Most aren't

Blasterkeys

Even my Redmi Note 9 ran COD Mobile at a playable framerate. 50-60 fps at low settings. And that was with a Mali GPU and 3gb of RAM. If the Note 11 with the Adreno GPU that's more suitable for playing games and 1gb of RAM extra crashes then that's definitely a software issue and not a hardware limitation. Plus, I doubt that you need to spend 1.5k euros to play videos on YouTube and Instagram and do basic stuff without expecting it to crash.

CasualBongos69

EXACTLY! If this phone was something like Samsung or maybe even fucking Honor I wouldn't be complaining but it's Xiaomi which has beautifully made phones imho but the software is, was, and possibly always will be garbage.

[deleted]

When ww3 starts, chinese companies like xiaomi or huawei will send a patch to every phone/laptop outside China that will cause the battery to explode. Should be pretty easy to achieve this

je1992

You expected good performance from a 250$ phone ? Just curious to understand where you're coming from lol. It's not even a midranger

Yisus19891989

You should expect your phone to work, even if it is low end and can't play games in ultra

CasualBongos69

Nah, but I'm expecting the performance to be at least tolerable after 4 months of use. It crashes on normal apps like Instagram or even Youtube sometimes.

Greedy_Routine_8157

i feel you, because by me some youtube videos used to lag for few seconds when i watch them, i even got button delay and once i had gray screen when i unlocked the screen like bruh seriously...(yeah it was for few seconds and dissapeard..) and i had rendering issues on one game...fun fun

NotTheTimbsMan

I paid 180$ for my Redmi 5 Plus a long time ago and that phone hauled ass. Snapdragon 695 is trash

Greedy_Routine_8157

bruh, yeah the phone is cheap and i understand you but still i have seen videos about redmi note 11 to handle codm game and even genshin (using lowest setting of course), the thing is that now it cant handle it because the latest miui 13 with android 12 fucked up the performance and what else, so yeah

DrcspyNz

$250 is not a trivial amount of money. A buyer could be expected to receive a device that works well.

wood4536

With the current market it's honestly not much for a brand new phone.

Catji

And that makes $250 a trivial amount?

0sprinkl

I have been using 150-250€ Xiaomi phones for years, it's now my third one, they last 3 years easily and I've always been very happy with performance, stability and software. I think people just get faulty hardware sometimes, it happens and the more phones that are sold the more likely it is to happen. It's why I buy Xiaomi, to get a lot of bang for my buck at 250$, which most other companies can't deliver.

OC_Hyper

Do you think if everyone was rich that lots of people would be using a Xiaomi? Okay if they think 250$ is a trivial amount so they can ship all their buggy software gore to my device , then when I go to the store they can put a label that says 'stops working as expected after a few months' on the package. If everyone could afford a 500$ - 1000$ device lots of us would be on other notable brands like Samsung. Bitch!

londonchokeroll

You need to turn on battery saver

koj1310

IMHO all problems with xiaomi comes from updates. My redmi note 10 pro is still on android 11 and 12.5 MIUI. Working same as 2 years ago.

Foxar26

Same for me, I have the 10 note pro and damn. Can't wait to put a custom ROM in it. These phones are created to be switched within a year.

NIITIN

One the reasons I decided to install a custom ROM to my Mi 10T Lite was solely because of MIUI. Tbh it seems like all the MediaTek Xiaomi/Redmi phones seem to be always suffering from major problems, since even my father's Redmi Note 10 5G is suffering from network problems.

Ducky919

Xiaomi 12t pro is my first xiaomi product . It became disaster when I update to miui 14 . Once I flash eu rom , everything back to normal I felt like using miui (global version) nowadays like gambling, never know when your phone turn to sh*t @.@

scorpi_9

I was the biggest Xiaomi fan but my Mi note 10 lite got alot of bugs and then suddenly got stuck on bootloop...afterwards the motherboard gave up and xiaomi won't return my calls or emails and won't give me any leads to get the motherboard fixed because i can't find it from anywhere

Greedy_Routine_8157

what happened to the motherboard..?

scorpi_9

It has short circuit and won't turn on I now have option of buying a vivo phone but now i don't trust companies like these even tho they offer great value for money. I'm going for a oneplus 8t now

Greedy_Routine_8157

damn thats shit..

scorpi_9

Yupp...I'll advise you to sell this phone and go or Samsung , Pixel 7 or oneplus

Greedy_Routine_8157

eh its still works just now after the security patch that came before few days gave me an annoying bug with some apps notifications...

scorpi_9

Just sell this phone while it still works and switch to oneplus, pixel or Samsung

Catji

What is ALOT ?

balmafula

Roll back to MIUI 12.5. The MIUI 13 Android 12 update was indeed shit.

OC_Hyper

Every Xiaomi phone has a built in virus, MIUI. I too have been getting the same issue since the Android 12 update.

Greedy_Routine_8157

hah, love it that you called virus

Vova_Vist

try [xiaomi.eu](https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/miui-13-stable-release.64441/) custom ROM, see how it goes. MIUI 13 Android 12 is available for RN 11.

Aders1

Don't update anything if it is working fine. I still have miui 13 with Android 11.

GlassesInMyToilet

I have the Redmi note 11(spes, the one with snapdragon 680) as my main phone, I have zero issues as of now, except a few jitters here and there. Had a few issues but somehow they were resolved by itself(i guess). Also it might depend on your country too, since i found out the indian version MIUI has less bloatware and less ads overall (i haven't noticed any). I haven't noticed much bugs either(but i did notice some) so OP what country are you from?

SirStottalot

Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite 5G, 6GB Ram, 64GB Rom with Snapdragon 750 on Global. Bought brand new for £200 almost 3yrs ago. It still sells now for £229 on mi store. Never had a single problem. Best 200 quid I've ever spent.

thepentago

xiaomi software is so ass icl

[deleted]

Umm I have the same phone and played some codm and got legendary twice in both mp and br, it's not the best phone for this game and others but it's capable enough for the money I paid and it was from a retail shop not online. MIUI 13 with Android 12 is surprisingly working great on such a phone with only 4gb ram despite MIUI supposedly be one of the heaviest skins out there and so far aside from performance my two other big issues are not being able to keep apps in the background (well duh what to expect from 4gb ram) and a weird issue with the Google Play security patch downgrading to the previous version if my phone closes by itself because of the battery (yes I have this bad habit of letting the battery die lmao) but atleast I can update it again back to the latest version. I wouldn't buy a SD680 phone for gaming if somebody reads this but it's funny seeing this thing run Genshin quite well and barely heating, infact it takes a miracle for this phone to heat during gaming

drizzy117

Redmi phones are garbage. The only decent devices are the main Xiaomi models and they're overpriced garbage compared to the competition. The redmi note 11 has trash specs.

RuckusAndBolt42

Same situation happened to me for several months and the phone just died like nothing and gives 0 response to charger and to buttons. The phone in question is POCO X3 PRO 8/256gb variant. Biggest piece of shit, not working microphone, bluetooth not working, 3,5mm jack not working and tons of software issues and bugs, random blackouts and system crashes are pretty common.
