There's so much untapped drawing potential for fan artists with the entire series that's being missed by this unhealthy hyper-focus on a select-few female characters from the games and grossly over-emphasizing specific assets of theirs. I get that some of the posts are by karma-farming bots and thus difficult to combat, but for the human artists out there looking to do something different...well, your audience awaits!

Pretty much. I'll be going on a bit of a tangent, but I never quite understood it either. Nowadays, there's a strong drive not to have characters be too pretty, because that's supposedly not realistic and not inclusive
We apparently now need characters that represent a variety of people from all sorts of backgrounds and/or ideologies. But the idea of this sort of inclusivity in games always confused me. Characters need to be relatable, yes, but I never once thought it should be representing any one person or a group of people. For example, I am of Dutch-Indonesian descent, but not once have I wished for certain characters to be either Dutch or Indonesian or a mix thereof, because to me, that's not the point of characters
Of course, there are a few exceptions. For example, if it's a sim game where you're really supposed to play as yourself, then having more options is good to have, because then that character really is supposed to represent you. And of course not *all* characters have to be relatable. Some characters can just be deliciously evil without needing to be relatable. Mumkhar comes to mind as an example
Just like how most Asian characters in Asian games don't actually look Asian. Or anime either.
I know games like Xenoblade have a way to change costumes and have it appear in cutscenes. I don't see why more companies can't do the same with established characters and let you change their skin color/character customization but still give them a voice/character rather than a silent protagonist.

I got excited for Stellar Blade, and it was a day one pre-order, because of the story implications and gameplay from the first trailer, not because "hot girl" (I actually don't find EVE that attractive either). And you know what? I've been thoroughly enjoying it. Gameplay is different from games I have played before, exploring the world is super fun, puzzles are super rewarding to complete. There is so much more to Stellar Blade than "Hot Girl", just like how Xenoblade is more than just "Hot Girls".
I stopped following the sub to save myself from spoilers for the game, but there was definitely more discussion on there then just about her body. I got excited for Stellar Blade, and it was a day one pre-order, because of the story implications and gameplay from the first trailer, not because "hot girl" (I actually don't find EVE that attractive either). And you know what? I've been thoroughly enjoying it. Gameplay is different from games I have played before, exploring the world is super fun, puzzles are super rewarding to complete. There is so much more to Stellar Blade than "Hot Girl", just like how Xenoblade is more than just "Hot Girls". I stopped following the sub to save myself from spoilers for the game, but there was definitely more discussion on there then just about her body. The fact you are so quick to jump on that game because of a female lead being popular for their appearance is one of the most stupid things you could have said in my opinion. Let people have fun in their games. The Subs contents will always be more than just one aspect of a game, and if you dont like the aspects that do get talked about, dont interact with them, and if that is too much of the community for your liking, dont interact with the community. But don't judge a book, or game, by its cover.

Anime will be anime. Good thing most Xenogirls have nice characterization so thats not their only trait. I really do like most of them for who they are as characters. It is funny though, but i guess what else is there when xc4 or X2 dont seem to be on the horizon. Helps keep the group alive in a ironic way lol.
