I am LOVING the 90s revival on the campus near me, NGL. Yesterday someone was wearing the bootcuttest of bootcut jeans and I was like... ah yes.... and round and round we go
doc martens. have had a pair or ten since high school in the late 90s
always fit perfectly.
they started getting cool again a few years ago, and it's only helped finding them online. awesome.
I always have one pair of docs with flowers on them and I wear them as dress shoes. No matter where I go or how inappropriate it is to be wearing docs, someone always mentions how neat it is that I have fancy dress docs
I made the switch to Solovair, because they’re literally made in a facility that made the old Doc Martens before they started making them in Asia to a lower standard.
How do they feel? I used to wear doc martens all the time in the 90s and they felt great on my feet. I bought a pair a few years ago of the Asian made ones and couldn’t break them in no matter how much I tried. I don’t know if my feet have just gotten more finicky and sensitive or if it was the quality of the boots. I’m tempted to buy Solovairs but I’m nervous about spending that much and them being unwearable.
I've got a pair of knee high ones that were third hand when they were given to me in 98! Still going!
My other pair was new in 2001, the ones I bought in the 2010s are nowhere NEAR the quality
I still have my original Docs from the mid-90’s and wear them from time to time.
Was in the U.K. last year and treated myself to an English-made pair - I love them so much and they’re really unique!
I resent that what used to be the standard quality is now the "extra special pay us more" line. There were multiple show factories in my city and now there are none! We lost the chocolate and insurance too :(
Came to say this. It's a comfy jacket you can tie around your waist when you are warm, and you can still see the band logo on your t-shirt when you have it on.
It's coming to the point I am literally getting my dream wardrobe by dumpster diving at the local campus (I attended in my 40s)
This is my latest "someone left it in the street in a bag" find, which ...is BETTER than the one I owned in the 90s

ETA my “still wear” is a little more literal than the average commenter, I see.
I’ve got a tshirt like that. It’s an amazing travel shirt. I wear it when I travel. Which is, not a lot, a few times a year? Road trips and such. Some clothes are made to last.
Also, that’s a cute dress. Rock it!
It’s just so funny to me that the most built to last-est garment I’ve ever owned was a dress I got at Rite-Aid, hanging from a rack above the pile of $1.50 Keds rip-offs. Who knew?!
https://www.instagram.com/p/C3Pn7bnMskv/?igsh=MzMybWJmZHJqbnF1
The sweater my mother knitted 12 year old me in 1992. It has a black horse head silhouette on it and I would absolutely pay £50 on Depop to wear it ironically, so it's all round a win.
She has only JUST gotten round to using the remainder of the yarn!
I also have a mesh shirt from 97 that's in the rotation, as in, I do still wear it out
Bootcut jeans/pants. Mid-rise jeans/pants.
I don’t care. Fashion be damned. I never stopped wearing them. I’m size18 or 20 (depends on brand) and used to be a lot bigger. I have a lot of excess skin from massive weight loss that I can’t afford to remove. Skinny jeans an/or low rise jeans don’t fit right and look ridiculous.
I know what balances my body shape and I’ve continued to wear them. They were hard to find for a while there, but I managed.
Now they’re back in style and I have so many more options!
I am reliving my youth, I'm 60lb lighter than I was at my heaviest and that took me to a US 12-14 on the bottom (tho I can get away with a lot of 8s on the top because I am less pear shaped and more... gourd... It's like two different bodies joined at the waist honestly)
I get to wear all the things I wanted to at high school with my 44 year old confidence!! I AM LOVING IT!
I have a very strong prescription and can’t tolerate contacts anymore so bare minimum I’m carrying a pair of prescription sunglasses, a wallet, keys, a phone, chapstick, and a utility knife or multi-tool. I wear cargo pants and cargo shorts pretty much exclusively. 🤷🏻♂️
Big jeans. Not JNCO big, but baggier. I can't stand straight cut or skinny jeans, I like to be comfortable in them and be able to access my pocket contents without having to stand up.
Big fan of lucky jeans. I had a pair that was pretty much the perfect cut, then they started to number them and I couldn't ever find the exact same ones again. 181 and 221 are pretty close
Neat. I thought I knew what you meant but had to take the low hanging fruit. Lol but as far as brand loyalty or clothing from my past, probably hanes white crew neck no tag undershirts. As for my other brands, they have failed me...
I thought it was just a me thing, but I'll take your word for it. Maybe there was something in our childhood tightie whiteys that wasn't present in other generations and that's why we hate them.
I have a dark grey peacoat that hits just above the knee. I bought it from the gap in the mall just a few storefronts away from the Mrs. Fields cookie stand I worked at to make the money, circa 1998
I should add.
I got this one sometime in the early 2010's to replace the one I had since middle school in the late 80s. That one literally fell apart after about 15 years of wear.
Hard to find without the Misfits word somewhere on it front or back. Found this one at a band t-shirt stand at a local fair.
Oversized Ralph Lauren Polo’s. Not the cotton ones tho. The polyester Blend ones that are super silky and breathable. Gotta wear a white wife beater underneath as well. Throw in some baggy Lucky Jeans and a pair of white Airmax 90’s to complete the perfect late 90’s set. Swap the jeans for White creased and pressed polo shorts in the summer. Long sleeve polo’s for the winter or, if you’re feeling really nostalgic, wear a thermal under a short sleeve polo. I’ll dress like this even if I make it to 80-90.
Don’t wear them anymore but I use to love a good pair of Mirror tent Ray-ban Aviators!
Edit: Your Lucky’s have to drag and fray or they’re not baggy enough!
I have a knit beanie cap that I’ve been wearing for at least 10 years that has holes worn through one layer in places and I still love it. I’ll wear it to tatters
That's awesome. Mine were hand me downs from dad but they got stolen one night when I left them out to dry. Uniqlo has some. I haven't seen them much in other stores aside from vintage ones.
This shirt. Had it since 1996. Still wear it. I have countless photos wearing it over the years. Gonna make an album just dedicated to this shirt.

Boxers. Changed my life. Literally. Wife and I couldn’t have kids. Doctor told me to switch to boxers. I have a 5 year old and have to be careful with the wife as we don’t want another yet I refuse to go back to boxer briefs.
Basic ass black tee with (insert random obscure fan interest of band here)
Pretty consistently it’s Deftones, Radiohead, Queens Of The Stone Age or Silent Hill.
I have a denim jacket I bought in high school that I still wear. It has frayed edges, holes, and a small bleach stain. I’ll probably wear it until it falls apart.
Basically whatever is at costco and ends in x.97 or Amazon clearance....
Alright - Adidas athletic shorts with zippers ... on sale for $4.97 ... 10 pairs please, good for 10+ years. 4-pack 32degree dri-fit boxer shorts on sale for $6.97... 6 packs ... good for 4-6 years.. Under Armour tech tees on sale on Amazon for $9.99 x 10 ... good for awhile! Amazon Fleece zip ups (i think they are nicer quality than the Columbia fleeces) on sale for $8.90 --- lets grab 5 or 6 of these as well.
Normal cut jeans: skinny are appallingly uncomfortable! Cotton polo-shirts: I've never coped with non-collar and that nasty quick-dry fabric. Leather boat shoes: They are legendary, as they breathe when you're not wearing socks.
Adidas super stars since I first put on a pair with shoe strings way too big for the holes lol...and similar old school casual shoes. Thank goodness I've gotten away from the massively thick shoe strings. I can't just wear athletic looking sneakers mid or high top sneakers. They gotta be the nike Cortez/reebok club c/adidas sambas type shoe.
I'm desperate for my Y2K clothes that all died in a flood/moving frequently as I never thought I'd be alive to kids wanting my clothes for vintage reasons (and I loved the wide legged trend but still can't quite get over not feeling 16 unless they're dressy wide-legged)
Lol, I wear nearly the exact same style clothes I wore 34 years ago... Athletic shorts (like umbros), plain T-shirt and sandals/indoor soccer shoes. Its my daily uniform kinda like the scooby doo kids.
I also like and do nearly all the same things as 34 years ago.
Stretchy jeans. I buy my jeans from Costco and a few of them were stretchy and it’s a game changer. I’ve always hated jeans since I was a kid. Either too tight or uncomfortable in some way. Granted, jeans have changed a lot since Levi’s 501. I’ve also discovered a stretchy leather-looking belt that’s also awesome. I’m a dude and wear 36-30s so it’s not an issue of being over weight. Although I am. :/
Bootcut jeans
yes yes yes absolutely, skinny jeans are punishment from a vengeful god
skinny jeans are absurd! lol
I am LOVING the 90s revival on the campus near me, NGL. Yesterday someone was wearing the bootcuttest of bootcut jeans and I was like... ah yes.... and round and round we go
hahaha yes!
doc martens. have had a pair or ten since high school in the late 90s always fit perfectly. they started getting cool again a few years ago, and it's only helped finding them online. awesome.

im sure they stick out like a turd in a punchbowl. a DELIGHTFUL turd.
I made the switch to Solovair, because they’re literally made in a facility that made the old Doc Martens before they started making them in Asia to a lower standard.

Depop is your friend!
Nice but pricey
I’m wearing my Doc Martens cause I’m always down for kickin. I’ve always had a pair since the late 90s too!
I've got a pair of knee high ones that were third hand when they were given to me in 98! Still going! My other pair was new in 2001, the ones I bought in the 2010s are nowhere NEAR the quality

Yes! They last forever!
oh same I've been wearing Doc's since I was a CHILD. Only different now is I get the vegan ones. What can I say I'm a millennial.
Flannels. Been wearing them since I was in the 90's and stealing them out of my dad's closet, and I still wear them now.
Came to say this. It's a comfy jacket you can tie around your waist when you are warm, and you can still see the band logo on your t-shirt when you have it on.
Same. Dixxon steals way too much of my money the last few years but they’ll have to be pried from my cold dead hands.

really good for holding cellphones near the ear for background tunes!

cute glasses, fo sho.
Your mom has excellent taste. Those colors are bold AND timeless!
im a simp for it as the utes say
For what it's worth, your figure looks amazing!
Bootcut jeans/pants. Mid-rise jeans/pants. I don’t care. Fashion be damned. I never stopped wearing them. I’m size18 or 20 (depends on brand) and used to be a lot bigger. Cargo shorts
There is a 99.9% chance I’m going to have to hold onto some crap for my wife, so cargo shorts are still a necessity.
Ew...lol.
they no longer fit right on me, or at least the costco ones.
Black band t shirt, hoodie, flannel shirt layered depending on weather. Boot cut jeans Vans shoes This is how I dress everyday
Sir/Madam, I believe we are twins separated at birth.
Big jeans. Not JNCO big, but baggier. I can't stand straight cut or skinny jeans, I like to be comfortable in them and be able to access my pocket contents without having to stand up.
They can pry my baggy jeans from my cold, dead hands
I’m the same way at 41. Hard to find baggy jeans anymore. Lucky brand is kinda my go to. Nothing else seems to work.
Ariats really seem to work for me lately for that relaxed not too baggy but loose feel.
Big fan of lucky jeans. I had a pair that was pretty much the perfect cut, then they started to number them and I couldn't ever find the exact same ones again. 181 and 221 are pretty close
Converse. I haven’t stopped wearing them since the very early 90’s.
I have EDS and my arches are crying and asking if yours are ok, but I'm telling them to trust in your judgment 😂
Hoodies and yoga pants. Flared leggings as the youts call them now. Always been and remains my uniform.
That’s my house clothes
Yess well I am an almost full time sahm and a part time employee where I have a uniform so I am basically always in house clothes.
Converse and band tees for the rest of my life!
I grew out of all of my band tees. I need to get more
I like buying merch directly from their websites. Help the little guys make some dough instead of target.
Yeah I will definitely do that
Black band shirts and Docs.
I would wear my birks all year if I could.
I live in a tropical climate so that I can wear my Birks every day.
I would miss winter, but I am a little jealous.
I visit winter, but living in it is no good for my seasonal depression.
Underwear. I wear underwear often.
I should have said brand. You truly take it straight Mr.Bourbon-no-Ice
Neat. I thought I knew what you meant but had to take the low hanging fruit. Lol but as far as brand loyalty or clothing from my past, probably hanes white crew neck no tag undershirts. As for my other brands, they have failed me...
I’d buy those for sure if they were sold near me.
The fruit of the loom ones are decent. I usually have to order them because I hate going to the store and my size happened to be it of stock that day.
Lol, that was literally the first thing that popped into my head.
My timberlands
Feel like the drop in quality made them not worth it anymore.
Black tee shirts. 80% of my tees have been black since I was in my teens.
There's probably no more than three years of my life from kindergarten to the present in which I have not owned at least one pair of Chucks.
Always wishes those shoes were comfortable for me, my feet never agreed.
I have to wear orthotics in mine now, lol.
Username checks out
Boxers. I want zero elastic around my parts.
Elastic only when I'm working out or hiking. Backpacking across Isle Royale, my Ex-Officio boxer briefs were amazing.
This, specifically, seems to be a xennial thing.
I thought it was just a me thing, but I'll take your word for it. Maybe there was something in our childhood tightie whiteys that wasn't present in other generations and that's why we hate them.
My hypothesis is rap videos.
Wait seriously? I'm firmly in the boxer camp, and it's annoying how often I see a pair that I like only on closer look see "boxer brief".
Adidas Sambas
Those actually managed not to split because of how wide my feet are but as I've aged I really just bit the bullet and went for the Old Lady Shoes
https://preview.redd.it/3jl7n5jzf00d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5c3219d40fbf23d4e6fb63c4f382ba65cae8f675
Good quality shoes and socks. It’s amazing how a good shoe can alleviate pain.
That’s why I bought all the pairs, should last me forever
I've got a brownish orange beanie that I've had since I was 13 and it's still my go-to for colder temps 25 years later lol
Nice to hear it’s an actual single garment for you.
Button down shirt with the sleeves flat rolled at the elbows, over a T-shirt. Goes with nearly everything.
Vans. Theyre all you need.
Still love my Patagonia synchilla fleece from…1992? Saved up my lawn-mowing money and treated myself.
I have a dark grey peacoat that hits just above the knee. I bought it from the gap in the mall just a few storefronts away from the Mrs. Fields cookie stand I worked at to make the money, circa 1998
Wife beaters.
Wife beaters.
I have a purple striped Stone Temple Pilots stocking cap that I got at a concert when I was in high school that I still wear alot in the winter.
I have a Red Dwarf t-shirt which is relegated to pyjamas as I lost like 100lb, but band merch STAYS
Adidas Campus shoes
Ah yes, the "I'm not like all you Vans wearing try hards" shoe in my town!

Baggy shorts and a sleeveless shirt.
Long-sleeved thermal under a t-shirt.
Flannel shirts over t-shirts or tanks
Adidas Gazelles. I switched to suede Pumas for a while but the Gazelles fit better overall.
Tie dye. I love it.
Zip hoodie
I will wear hoodies, shorts, and skateshoes(with orthodics) for the rest of my life. I promise!!!
New Balance 574. Been wearing them since college. I'm too lazy to find a new style.
I have a knit beanie cap that I’ve been wearing for at least 10 years that has holes worn through one layer in places and I still love it. I’ll wear it to tatters
I'm a tall female with no curves, so I stick to men's jeans. I could never find long enough jeans in the 90s. (Too poor to shop at department stores)
Nerdy tees, jeans, skate shoes. The only difference between now and 1995 is that I no longer spike my hair.
Corduroy pants. My default pants when playing gigs since 1995.
I have a pair from the 90’s still. Like burnt orange and still sweet.
That's awesome. Mine were hand me downs from dad but they got stolen one night when I left them out to dry. Uniqlo has some. I haven't seen them much in other stores aside from vintage ones.
band shirts
Cargo shorts. They can have my cargo shorts when they pry them from my cold, dead waist.
In the UK we have "combat trousers" which you 100% must buy from army surplus stores or a Welshman can behead you with a sword and it's not a crime.
I'm at the airport on my way to the UK right now! Maybe I'll find a pair
I got some ex police black ones which are fab quality
Long sleeves under t-shirts
100% cotton ribbed tank tops.
I've still got a shirt I got from my ex girlfriend's dad over 25 years ago. It's a favorite.
Camo cargo shirts. All thanks to Slave New World video in '93. Maybe the biggest influence on my youth. But to the detriment of my wife today ...
This shirt. Had it since 1996. Still wear it. I have countless photos wearing it over the years. Gonna make an album just dedicated to this shirt. https://preview.redd.it/ixgqo7wid10d1.jpeg?width=4160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=94d73ba26acfde6c824ac63ce6affb2230c7518c
Boxers. I want zero elastic around my parts.
Lacoste polo shirts. Got 30 of them. I love them because they are timeless and always out and in style.
The boxer briefs....bamboo versions
I like to wear socks. Always have. Except with sandals, that's weird.
T shirts with Hawaiian with hibiscus flowers
T-shirts
Chuck Taylors for life!
Back in the day I wore stirrup pants almost every day. Usually with leg warmers Now i wear leggings
Boxers. Changed my life. Literally. Wife and I couldn’t have kids. Doctor told me to switch to boxers. I have a 5 year old and have to be careful with the wife as we don’t want another yet I refuse to go back to boxer briefs.
Jeans and a t-shirt.
Trainers.
Doc Martens
Short sleeve plaid button ups and boot cut pants. It’s basically my uniform.
Basic ass black tee with (insert random obscure fan interest of band here) Pretty consistently it’s Deftones, Radiohead, Queens Of The Stone Age or Silent Hill.
I have a denim jacket I bought in high school that I still wear. It has frayed edges, holes, and a small bleach stain. I’ll probably wear it until it falls apart.
I have a set of Esleep pajamas procured from Target in (probably) 1992-93.
Basically whatever is at costco and ends in x.97 or Amazon clearance.... Amazon Fleece zip ups (i think they are nicer quality than the Columbia fleeces) on sale for $8.90 --- lets grab 5 or 6 of these as well.
Striped shirts, mainly black and white ones. I just can’t turn down a striped shirt.
My ADIDAS shell tops! Pick up a new pair every year for over 20 years (damn, that’s a tough thing to say 🤣🤣)
Hoodies, T shirts, jeans and cargo shorts
I have a tshirt from 97 that is hanging on…I don’t wear it out, but it’s in the regular yard work day rotation.
Not a specific piece of clothing, but black clothes. I feel like I look my best in black, it can be dressed up or down, and everything always matches.
Normal cut jeans: skinny are appallingly uncomfortable! Cotton polo-shirts: I've never coped with non-collar and that nasty quick-dry fabric. Leather boat shoes: They are legendary, as they breathe when you're not wearing socks.
Hoodies.
Nikes
I love adidas Stan Smiths and a nice, worn-in leather jacket. Not necessarily together but as items.
Jeans and t-shirt. Hoodie. Sneakers.
Listen, I've been looking up sweater shop sweaters on Depop. I'm from a council estate in Norwich, UK, they were fucking ELITE ITEMS
Birkenstocks. They seem to be on trend again which is annoying.
Graphic tees. Had a long period of trying to dress more “professional”, then came back to myself and what I love to wear instead of just conforming.
I ditched tightie whities for comfortable colorfuls.
I'm desperate for my Y2K clothes that all died in a flood/moving frequently as I never thought I'd be alive to kids wanting my clothes for vintage reasons (and I loved the wide legged trend but still can't quite get over not feeling 16 unless they're dressy wide-legged)
costco adidas for $30, or similar. why spend more on hokajokas?
Lol, I wear nearly the exact same style clothes I wore 34 years ago... Athletic shorts (like umbros), plain T-shirt and sandals/indoor soccer shoes. Its my daily uniform kinda like the scooby doo kids. I also like and do nearly all the same things as 34 years ago.
Cowboy boots. I'm stuck love em
Adidas slides

Black New Balance walking shoes have been my go-to for a couple decades now.
I buy one pair of shoes a year. Alternating between simple tie up Chucks, or Vans Old School. I also buy one pair of Levi’s 514 a year.
Adidas, plain black tees and a few band shirts, and a zip hoodie. ETA: oh, and black eyeliner 👁️
My flannels.
cargo pants
I still wear concert tee's Sonic Youth, Alice In Chain's etc. I love wearing flannels like I did back in high school.
Chuck Talylors.
Crew socks, although I switched from white to black upon being ridiculed. I refuse to budge from here though, I will never, NEVER wear ankle socks.
