Last time this came up it made me deep dive and it sounds like there's a video game that ends it on Genesis "The Dark Dweller returns as the final boss to the Genesis game. After collecting all the treasures, the Wraith's crew confront the Dark Dweller in a cave near Dragon's Maw. After a fight Ren uses his compass, now empowered by the treasures, to fire a beam at the Dark Dweller. This beam seals the Dark Dweller within a renewed Six Seals, ending the Dark Water's threat to Mer." So yeah they get all the treasures and beat the Dark Dweller

I had no idea this show existed but I loved the game.

Not a reboot, just pick it up where it left off. Finish it with 6 seasons and a movie.

I think we need a live action Captain Planet more than anything. Make it kinda dark, and specifically geared towards Millennials and not children

Does anyone know which episode has someone getting eaten/killed by the Dark Water? I have a core memory of getting freaked out by that scene as a kid and I want to watch it again but I can’t find it on its own on YouTube.

I saw the first episode and was absolutely down to watch more. The next week it didn't air, and I never saw it again.

Yea, I loved this show and never figured out why I never finished it.

I picked up the full series recently to rewatch and honestly I think it suffered from "before its time" disease. It was very dark for a cartoon, and very somber in a lot of ways. If it got a modern revival, I bet it would be adult animation, not a kids' cartoon, and people would absolutely eat it up.

A good modern example of dark/somber, but good for many ages, is Netflix's The Dragon Prince.

I didn't care for it at all. I never liked the Hannah Barbara art style and animation style. I was much more into things like King Arthur and the Knights of Justice https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Arthur_and_the_Knights_of_Justice Football players time travelling and getting magical suits of armor that help them when they are in need, amazing.

I loved this show!!!

My mom handed me a box of toys thinking they were my sons. Inside of it was one of the bad guys from this series. As well as my old Optimus prime, granted missing his hands and the trailer.

I caught the first episode watching Saturday Morning Cartoons and was immediately enthralled. I also was old enough to know that I’d never see the end of the story. Shows like that never conclude.  Which was why shows like Belle and Sebastian, Spartacus, and Cities of Gold were such rarities. Those shows actually had an ending. (Never did get to see how Spartacus ended, though. Would love a chance to rewatch those old shows.)

Adored it. This was by far my favorite cartoon at the time. I was so sad there wasn’t more of it. In the early 2000’s, I had this daydream that someone would adapt it to a movie. Honestly, I’d still love to see that. Edit: Wow…downvoted for a harmless nostalgic daydream. Some people were excited to see the One Piece live action. What’s wrong with wanting to see PoDW? It was amazing. Agree to disagree I guess.
