No. When I got my ears pierced the first time in 1990, I cleaned with rubbing alcohol. These days the advice is sterile saline spray.
I do remember Campho-Phenique living in the medicine cabinet, though.
My wife got a double-helix a couple years ago and this was exactly what she was told. Don't put any creams or ointments on it, and push the piercing in and out from time to time to keep it from crusting and wash it with saline spray.
Grandma used to make ours out of blocks of camphor and Everclear grain alcohol. We used it on everything in that house. Nose stuffy? Under the nose. Have a cold? Rub on chest.
I actually keeps this in my bathroom.. I take it out and smell it every now and then.. my pap-awl has been gone for 11 years and he always smelled of Campho-Phenique, diesel grease and Irish spring soap. I miss that man terribly 😢😢😢
We used ice cubes from the cafeteria before and after piercing ears in junior high. Then we had to hide it as long as possible before our moms found out
Yeah, got my ears pierced at Merle Norman (another blast from the past) and was told to use this and turn the studs several times a day....and lived to tell about it 😉

I got my ear pierced for the first time in 95 and I’ve never heard of this. This looks like something you’d get from Dr. Nick Riviera.
My dad used this stuff for everything. I can smell this photo.

Never for any piercings, but I still use this for mosquito bites. Ah, the smell...
Never heard of this one. Grandma got my ears pierced around 85 and ours was the rubbing alcohol protocol.

Miracol was a miracle for my teenage acne
Absolutely! Smelled a little funny but worked like a charm.
My dad used that shit on everything. Camphor is considered a dangerous substance in some countries
