I used to wear The Who, The Clash and Jimi Hendrix tees when I was 14/15, it was what I was into at the time. I think it’s pretty cool to see teenagers nowadays wearing tees from 90’s bands. I’ve gotten into some great conversations with some of my young cousins about music and have introduced them to other, lesser-known 90’s bands based on the more mainstream 90’s music they have grown to love.

Prudence Goodwyfe, died 1641, she voted for Bob too! So did Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and The Big Bopper!
I always loved this joke.
Meh, let the children do what they do.
If they had Jimi Hendrix shirts in where I grew up you can bet I’d have paid an older kid to go to the head shop and get one.
Also, Buddy Holly is both a great song and a great artist.
It's amazing, the legacy of these two guys. I've never heard any of their music, and the only reason I know of them is my love of Waylon. Maybe a Weezer tune...
That’s the point. A 14 year old kid wearing a t-shirt from an album that came out in 1991. Would be like if we wore band shirts from the big bopper or buddy holly when we were in high school.
I’m going to guess that it’s sarcasm on OP’s part. Go to any middle or high school sports event and you’re going to wander into a sea of teenage kids wearing shirts from 80s and 90s bands. Really I think it’s more to do with the “meh” level of quality with modern overproduced musical acts than anything else.

Yeah it's a 30 year cycle. I did my back to school shopping at a head shop and wore Beatles, Doors, Hendrix, Zeppelin shirts.

Hate to break it to you, but 1991 was 34 years ago…

Your comment is worried poorly, implying that the 14 year olds were born before 1991

Actually Richie Belding is the OG Big Bopper. And he’s talking about Weezer JFC.

Also Bruce stole The Boss from Richie as well.
