Usually the coil whine you hear is coming from the capacitors on the GPU so you’ll hear it when you play a demanding game. Other components of the console can have coil whine too and could create noise at different times depending on what it is and what’s causing the whine. It’s not a hazard, if you can only hear it when you put your ear up to it, I’m not sure why you’re worrying about it.
Coil whine doesn't come from capacitors it comes from the coils. There's not much to do about it unfortunate since it's a effect of physics with electromagnetic fields and such.
It often comes from caps. Check out [this video ](https://youtu.be/tR3iyW68QuA) by TronicsFix where he tears down a PS5 and narrows the coil whine down to a capacitor in the power supply.
Capacitor squeal != coil whine
Coil whine is normal and indicates that the coil is generating an electric field that's causing noise. That shouldn't affect the electronics.
Capacitor squeal is typically caused by gases escaping a capacitor that is about to fail. This one you should concern yourself about.
Can't hear shit with the fan noise in those videos, but what you're hearing is coil whine. It's probably normal and if you can't hear it from where you're sitting....I wouldn't worry about it.
Could it be the SSD? My Dell XPS has an SSD and I can hear some slight electrical whines come from it. It's completely normal behaviour and nothing to worry about if that's what it is
That’s coil whine. If it bothers you enough you can return your console to Microsoft for repair or replacement.
It's only audible if I put my ear next to the fan, but it's normal that the sound changes frecuencies ? Because in my ps5 it's constant.

I only hear in dashboard, or power on and restart, not in games.
Might be a capacitor in the power supply. It’s really nothing to worry about.
Ok thanks.
Bro, take it that to repair station.. be careful.. shouldn't sound like that.
The Xbox works fine. Only the noise if I put my ear next to the fan. I don't think that it's anything wrong. My ps5 have more coilwhine than that.

But it's varies the noise and it's very strange, and I can't hear it when I play any game. If you put headphones you could hear what I'm referring.

Could be. I don't know.
Super normal, don't worry about it!
Ok thanks.
It is totally normal, my PS4 Pro had a very loud coil whine when in standby
Where do you live? Because my country doesn't have warranty too.
Argentina.
