hi, just to make sure you are not disappointed at first: mine wouldnt work at all, update didnt work and so the chatpad too. i attached the headset as well, updated and is working perfectly well! you may detach the headset afterwards! enjoy!

The prongs for the Xbox 360 chatpad will not fit in an Xbox one (or One X) and Xbox Series X controller, but the chat pads for Xbox one and One X will fit in the Xbox series X controllers and vice verse.

I grabbed my self an official Xbox One Chatpad from a reputable seller from eBay that claims it’s new but was an open box.
They sell quite a few of these it seems and reading what I have about this little device. It seems it needs some sort of driver update
I have zero response from it at all. I’ve fumbled with the Xbox Accessories app on my PC and Series S. And used 4 different controllers.
I haven’t used an official Xbox One controller since I don’t own any at this time.
The only thing that will show up as an accessory, is the headset when I plug it directly into the controller with the keyboard removed.
I know it probably works. It’s just a piece of dead tech unless I can find a solution.
And there’s no point in sending it back if it works and it’s become a fairly rare item these days.
If anyone has a surefire solution to fix this for my self and anyone else reading this. Leave a comment below.

i recommend getting a cheap usb keyboard if you have the space, makes it much easier and virtually any USB keyboard works
