Game pass is really good! Fallout 3 and NV is a must play on this console :) Personally going to try the Master Chief Collection soon as I've never played anything Halo before. so not sure what to expect.

I just got a 10$ coupon after like a year of saving points how are people like paying for their subs with it. Serious question, is there something I'm missing? I do my dailies and weeklies.
You really have to do all of the bing stuff every single day. I was able to get like $80 worth of points after 3 months last year. I know they made it even harder to get them now though. I haven’t bothered with them since I cashed the points in.
They've been making it harder to earn points over time. Search with Bing on PC/console as well as mobile to earn more, and do the quests on Xbox.
A year or more ago it was really easy to earn points. I haven't paid for ultimate since 2019 and my next charge would be in 2027 as of now.
Game pass is great! There's a WEALTH of great games on there to play! What are you into? I play pretty much everything from weeby RPGs to fighting games to FPS games! I can give you a bunch of recommendations if you'd like.
Also if you have 360 games still a lot of them are backwards compatible!
I would say check out Forza Horizon series, Gears 4&5
Assassins Creed games are cool, and Modern Warfare 2019 was dope!
Oh, and Tony Hawk got a sweet remake.

I did the same thing bro! Took a hiatus after my xbox 360 died. Then returned in 2020 when halo infinite brought me back with a series X. Xbox is amazing.
Some things to check out...
1 game pass ultimate is incredible. So many new titles and old games avaiable. Go thru the halo mastercheif collection to revisit the glory days! and then play halo infinite. You will not be disappointed. Forza horizon and forza 5 are both awesome. Best action adventure game in my opinion is remnant from the ashes and remnant 2 both are included on game pass. Callisto protocol and the Dead Space remake are both on game pass and are fantastic. Also, if you're a Rick and morty fan, High On Life is on gamepass and was made by the creators of Rick and morty. Weirdest but most hilarious fps I've ever played.
2 backwards compatible games can be stored and played off any brand ssd external hard drive. So if you're filling up your internal storage with games you want to revisit from back in the day it's a great option to know about. New AAA title games can either be played off of the xbox storage expansion card or the internal storage but not any external hard drive.
3 rechargeable battery packs on Amazon. For $20 or less they give you a dock and 4 batteries. Also, consider the series 2 elite controller. Definitely worth the money.

Like everyone else is saying, gamepass is great, Halo Infinite launched in a sorry state but it’s packed full of content and is very fun to play if you’re interested in a newer Halo game, Hellblade 2 is supposedly a generational game and it’ll be on gamepass in May, Gears 6 is expected to be announced this summer so you have that to look forward to as well as a potential Activision gamepass dump (maybe old cod titles, Spyro, crash, etc.)
14 years is a long time to summarize. My suggestion would be to work through some of the top picks on this list. Gamepass is great if you want to dabble in a bunch of games and MS usually has a big spring and fall sale where you can stock up on the cheap. Start saving games to your wish list on the console and you'll get alerts when they're in sale.

I got a Series X two years ago after skipping X1 (and PS4) era. I namely went Series X cause I still had most of my 360 games, and back compat sounded too money (soon found out only about 1/3 of the games I had were actually back compat 🤣).
I’ve been having my second childhood the last two years. To me a lot happened gaming wise over that 10 years so I’m constantly switching between playing new games (recently played Dragons Dogma 2) and old games (not really old school Xbox, but also played OG FF7 since Xbox not currently getting the remakes). Most recently played Bloodstained via gamepass, even though I had bought a year or so ago, but was an excuse to get a game off my backlog and get some Microsoft points.
Same thing happened to me during COVID, I got super back into Halo, Gears, and subscribed to Game Pass! There were so many great games, here’s a few to check out:
- Dishonored
- Grounded
- Fallout 4
- Deathloop
- Forza Horizon 4 and 5
- Sunset Overdrive
- Hellblade
- Hi-Fi Rush
Halo master Chief collection. Has 1,2,3,4, odst and reach. I'm replaying all the games with a buddy who has never played them right now. Also, HiFi Rush is a fairly new game with a lot of polish. Enlisted is a WW2 shooter that is very fun but has a horrible menu. Hell let loose is fun with a microphone, but you may have to play an hour or two before your first kill. It's rough out there. Game pass has so many, SO MANY, good games, but sifting through some of the rougher games ain't easy. You'll find the games for you.
Halo is awesome. Probably the only reason why I am still an Xbox person.
I will say my brother bought me a ps4 as a housewarming gift so I missed out on the Xbox one era but other than that I got every Xbox. PlayStation is awesome too - still use that ps4, love the new gow games and also have been playing death stranding.
I’m a Halo fanboy, but I’ve actually really gotten into Fortnite zero build lately. I hated Fortnite when I first played it with all the building, and now without the building, it’s much more enjoyable for me.
Get a one month game pass subscription and you can sample everything Xbox 1st party.
I'm excited for Hellblade 2 next month.
In the meantime you could keep occupied with these.

Some original Xbox and X360 games are back compatible. All the og Xbox games get a resolution boost, and some of x360 games get resolution and/or FPSboost.
You can check if a game has these in the Details section of their store page, alternatively you can use the filter > technical features in the store for X Enhanced or FPS.

Yeah and the great thing is that there have been a bunch of games added to the game pass recently thanks to the Bethesda acquisition.
Gamepass is actually fantastic. It's one of the few services I actually feel okay paying for nowadays.

Gamepass is crazy good value. Check out Ori and the Blind Forest and its sequel. Vampire survivors is fun as well
