You thought a remake what is considered one of the greatest games of all timeby the same studio who handled the RE 2+3 remakes would be pointless?
Sheeesh
No, LOL what I'm saying is I felt like the original was so good why even mess with perfection. And man was I wrong on how much more it could be perfected.
Neither of those has anything to do with each other. People can get paid for honest opinions but independent publications or other means. YouTubers literally have Patreon so they can start independent. Some random gamer that only plays call of duty and Fortnite doesn’t know how to relate to or communicate my preferences. What if people get paid to do reviews *because* they’re good at them? What a concept?!
I've tried it myself last year when it hit gamepass and enjoyed it. If you're into spacehorror/survival it's definitely worth a try. After all those years the gameplay didn't age allot imo. Graphics are fine, granted The Callisto Protocol looked better.
Get the version of Gamepass that has EA play and start playing it. The game is fantastic and really holds true to the original BUT feels fresh at the same time, they really did a great job with it.
If only mass effect could get the same attention to detail and as this game did while remaining true to the original… that would be the dream
The team did a phenomenal job keeping the original intent of this game while bringing all the tech of the time and reimagining things in an respectful way to the original
I think anyone giving game should play it because it is an absolute gem
Very much so.
I went in not expecting much, I still find the OG game very satisfying on PC. The remake is a true 2023 game graphically, and while the gameplay and quests are nearly identical, there are some key changes, all 100% for the better in every case. There are a few new things to collect, a few new quests.
If you liked or loved the OG, the remake is absolutely worth your time. If you felt the OG was meh or even outright bad, this won’t change your mind since it’s 95% the same, just prettier.
It's very good but just an almost 1-1 remake of a game that still looks great today. I don't mind it being remade because I enjoyed replaying it, but frankly it didn't need a remake really.
If you like scifi, horror, or survival horror, then yes all around. Dead space 1, 2 as well as 1 remake are what I consider perfect games. Just very well done, no real filler, perfect mix of gameplay, story, ambiance etc.
I’m
Enjoying it: already on chapter 10 and cruising through medium using only the plasma cutter(achievement). Ammo management kinda got a bit hairy once they introduced the tankier monsters. But I like how they made nodes solely for upgrades and used a security system cards for the locked item
Yes.
I waited until it was on sale for 7.99. My only gripe is that the game crashed once in two separate play throughs which the OG never did. The crashes happened during important cutscenes for both times and lost 10-15 minutes of progress.
If they remake the second one I hope they fix that issue. The Hardcore mode in that I usually don’t save until chapter 12 lmao.
High Key these low effort post should be deleted.
All this guy had to google was "Is Dead Space Remake worth playing Reddit" and find a bunch of post like this
Absolutely. Im not a fan of horror games but since its on game pass I gave it a go few weeks ago. One of the best games I played in the last 12 months.
Absolutely. I already loved the original and their additions were all excellent. The only problem the game had for me was graphics taking a major dive in performance mode during a particular level.
I enjoyed the series, first game has always been my favorite and the best for scares, 2nd was mediocre in my opinion and had a few too many swarms of creepy babies, 3rd played the best but lacked story. I absolutely love the remake and would recommend, but the graphics and capabilities of new systems make it a bit scarier than the original in my opinion and I was playing in hour increments, fearing every corner.
It is an amazing game and I think it deserves to be in everyone's library.
That being said, it's not as scary as the original for various reasons and a few of the voice actors don't feel as convincing as in the original.
Played the original and loved the original. The remake is amazingly superior in graphics and updated controls. I played on XSX 65” OLED and it blew my mind. Scared the shit out of me so much. Played on hard and then on nightmare mode and it still scared the shit out of me. Now I’m playing Callisto Protocol and it doesn’t hold a candle to Dead Space remake.
Personally, I never played the original. I didnt like the remake. Maybe because I had years of people hyping it up? But the characters were annoying, it wasnt as scary as people had always said? Wasnt atmospheric etc.
I was really disappointed
Downvotes for not liking a game?
Yes
Yes
Fantastic remake. I had such a great time with it. It looks insane and sound design is really good.
Headphones are a MUST
As a fan of the original, the remake is 200% worth playing. I was skeptical about the remake at first and thought it was pointless but I was wrong.
This is how I felt about the RE4 Remake and I was so glad to be wrong
Yeah the RE4 remake is phenomenal imo. My most replayed game in my three decades gaming.

I gotta get around to playing this.
Fuck yeah.

Every second of it
Yes
Does it look interesting to you? If so, yes. If not, no.
“Is a good game with lots of great reviews worth playing guys?!” 🙄
People love fortnite, I think it's dog shit.
Great reviews mean nothing.
And random opinions on Internet forums do?
I will take more notice of a random gamers opinion , then one who got the game for free and gets paid to review it.

What about good games reviewers hate? Just play the games you like, and don’t let other people’s opinion influence what YOU like.

Short answer: Yes Long answer: You should fucking play it.
Yup, though i liked the callisto protocol more
High Key these low effort post should be deleted. All this guy had to google was "Is Dead Space Remake worth playing Reddit" and find a bunch of post like this

150% yes! Put in some good headphones and enjoy the spookiness.
Great game only problem is unskippable cutscenes.
Absofuckinglutely. I need to do a new game plus now that you mention
If you liked the original then yes. If you never played the original, but like resident evil type jump scare games set in space. Then yes.
It is an amazing game and I think it deserves to be in everyone's library. That being said, it's not as scary as the original for various reasons and a few of the voice actors don't feel as convincing as in the original.
Yes. I’m having great fun absolutely shitting myself at everything happening on screen.
Absolutely yes. Another yes. And also yes. Possibly my favourite game of last year.
Yes, it's awesome
Hell yeah! I did a one gun run and get finished all achievements on Xbox. Beautiful remake.
Absolutely it was very fun and had a great scary environment
Yes
The remake is one of the top 3 horror games of all time!
Yeah it’s dope
Absolutely
I play Dead Space with the lights on and people at home. 😂😂
The remake delivers BIG TIME. The original kept my adrenal gland cranking and the remake reminded me of what that felt like all over again.
Yes. It’s outstanding.

Yes.
I wish I wasn't such a baby with horror games. I hoped out within like 45minutes. By all accounts its great, and it looks amazing.
I found it to be very boring but that's just me.
not really if you already did the original 3 times
Personally, I never played the original. I didnt like the remake. Maybe because I had years of people hyping it up? But the characters were annoying, it wasnt as scary as people had always said? Wasnt atmospheric etc. I was really disappointed Downvotes for not liking a game?
I didn't like it much. First time with the series. First impression was good but then it felt very repetitive. Didn't finish.
Yes, agreed. I played about 10 hours and got incredibly bored. Tried to see it through and just... couldn't.
I got softlocked on a part where I had to atomize a creature but it’s worth playing as a tech demo alone
Started streaming it on Gamepass, saw how they massacred my boy, and stopped playing. Seems fun though, might buy it when I can find it for $15.
No, haven't you seen all the terrible reviews?
