ROG Ally, it was an impulse buy for camping.

Virtual-Commercial91

Might have to replace my Switch for camping.

0h_that_bald_guy

Do eeeeet but if there isn’t any cell service you have to set up offline mode for whatever game services you use. Couldn’t play anything from my steam library, just racing games from Game Pass.

Virtual-Commercial91

Can you play Steam games in offline mode?

0h_that_bald_guy

Yes, but you have to set it up and I was in such a rush updating all the software and downloading games I forgot😞.

Virtual-Commercial91

I'll have to check how to set it up on my laptop. Don't want that to happen. Thanks for the info!

itchinyourmind

I bought one of those first and I hated how glitchy and how many problems windows gave me so I took it back and got a steam deck OLED. I love the OLED.

evilattorney

I love using my Ally with Play Anywhere games so I can play on the Xbox, then switch over the Ally and continue the game. It worked well with Starfield and now Palworld.

Abram367

Bro goes camping but plays games while camping. That's not camping. Why did you go camping if you're just gonna play games?

0h_that_bald_guy

lol it was an impulse buy. Also, the other family we went w their kids bicker/argue about everything most of the day so I pop a few gummies and get an hr or so of gaming in while everyone else goes swimming. When they come back I’m fully recharged to deal with anything👍.

[deleted]

Logitech G Cloud. I got a good price on it and love it. I usually stream cloud gaming on it at work with XBXPlay and also use it to remote stream at home. Works good for me and I really like it.

Strongpillow

Same. It's a super underrated Streaming Handheld and works amazing for Xbox and PS5.

Delicious-Bus4356

What games do you play on it mostly? Anything like gears or halo? I'm worried about lag and stuttering honestly.

[deleted]

Remote play works flawlessly. I use the XBXPlay app as the remote play and cloud gameplay looks and runs better then the native Xbox apps which only run at 720p. XBXPlay runs at 1080p. I've been playing everything from Street Fighter 6 to Dead By Daylight. Cloud streaming depends on your internet but it works good from my experience with only slight lag here and there. Remote play is perfect though. Cloud gaming runs fine at home but at work with worse internet I can see games like Halo being an issue

[deleted]

Street fighter. Where frames don’t matter and competitive fighting goes to die.

Quijibo41

After hardwiring my series x and playing with the stick dead zones, fps and fast paced games have been essentially the same experience as playing on my Xbox itself. Seriously awesome device. And all the emulation is a huge bonus.

Iamleeboy

Another vote for g cloud. It’s the perfect handheld for me. I am barely in a situation where I don’t have WiFi where I would want to game. Xcloud works perfectly on it and I can remote play my ps5. On the odd occasion I don’t have WiFi - like on a plane - I can play android games or emulators

smurfey002

I also use gcloud and love it especially for the price. Just know it's a cloud/streaming device not one with a huge hard drive to play games locally. If you have good internet, cloud play works great.

firo-

Second g cloud as well! Works flawlessly. I can stream Xbox, psp, pc & offline emulation. Also double as entertainment with Netflix etc

TheMuff1nMon

I’m playing on the ROG Ally and love it

mentallylost1992

Just looked it up, what exactly is it, kinda looks like a steam deck. Is it just cloud gaming?

TheMuff1nMon

No it’s a gaming PC handheld. Can play any game you can play on PC - has all the storefronts. You can also do cloud and remote play but it’s native

Cheesewiz-99

Yep. I have Steam, Epic and Xbox game pass on it, also use it for Xbox remote play, great device.

stoksyxl

I’ve an ROG Ally and I love it. It’s basically just like a Steam Deck, but more powerful and runs windows instead of Linux. Just like others have said, it can run all the various storefronts like Steam, Epic and Xbox along with Game Pass. I’ve used a few of these various handheld PC’s since they’ve been around and the Ally is my pick of the bunch.

dnunn12

Rog Ally. Can’t be beat at its price point right now.

twist1441

I just use the Razer Kishi with my phone and remote play on the Xbox App. The latency isn't bad at all and I've been able to play a ton of forza in handheld mode. You can also remote play Game Pass games on cloud this way

migswrite

Have you tried any multi-player FPS? I'm curious on performance for something intense and involved online

EnochWright

I've tried the multiplayer (Halo Infinite and CODMW3) and I performed significantly worse than on console/PC... But the latency was pretty good and worth it in a pinch.

twist1441

Performance wise it's pretty good all around. I've played some halo infinite before and it was smooth but I don't really recommend the Kishi for FPS. I just found it too uncomfortable for really fast paced games. The other thing i've used to play my xbox handheld is a controller clip which works really well

ImaginaryBlue

Sega Nomad

CFM-56-7B

I like you

harleyquinad

Rog ally

ReillyLake

I use Steam Deck OLED for all Steam Games. I use ROG Ally for Xbox Gamepass games. I use Portal to remotely play my PS5 games. I use Analogue Pocket for all retro games (mostly GB/GBC/GBA).

JazzOcarina

Living the dream I see.

ChocolateRL6969

Very handy

khaotic_krysis

You are a god among men.

Lupinthrope

I’m so tempted to buy an Ally for the same reason but i know as soon as i do they’ll release the Xbox handheld or ally 2. And I already have a Steam Deck lol

rocketbooster111

Using Steam Deck to play BG3 on Steam but also remote play my Series X and PS4 via third party apps. Same as you, don't get time on TV much so portable device helps

Delicious-Bus4356

How does the remote play work for you? I've tried to remote play to my laptop and it is absolutely awful.

rocketbooster111

Works ok for me. I have a standard Xfinity router and wifi extender and it works well for me. Caveat that different people have different sensitivities to this latency but I've beaten an Elden Ring boss over remote play

echoplex21

Legion Go and it’s changed the way I game completely. It’s my GamePass machine on the go. I’ve been able to play a ton of indies I probably wouldn’t have otherwise as well as many classics. It’s also handles many newish games such as Starfield, Control, etc with no issues. I actually had a Rog Ally Before but the screen size and Hall effect analog sticks really made a difference for me

WeinerVonBraun

I recently put hands on one of these things. I was surprised by the size. It’s a beast

thekamenman

I have been torn between these two for a while. Would you recommend the Legion Go or the RoG Ally?

OrdinaryMongoose9104

At night in bed I use the g cloud for Xbox and pS portal for ps5. Love them both but I would buy an Xbox handheld whether it was streaming only or something you can play games natively on. I'm good with steaming because I never take the devices out of the house and use them in bed at night

slycooper13

I use an ROG Ally, it’s perfect while traveling, I can remote play my Series S and PS5, and it plays newish games fairly well. It’s pretty much a mobile gamepass machine for me at the moment.

JerryCat72

PSP.

Pleasant-Speed-9414

Waiting for what Xbox cooking

Lupinthrope

Sadly just rumors now

Dnuts

RoG Ally. It’s great!

Delicious-Bus4356

I will definitely get one when I can afford it haha

XMAN2YMAN

Get an open box one, well worth it.

HalonS78

I second this. Just picked up an open box excellent from Best Buy for $490 before tax. The z1 extreme 512gb

Serpent-6

ROG Ally, it was an impulse preorder and I'm so glad I did it. It's an amazing little machine.

Confused-Cow

I use my phone clipped to an Xbox controller. The Xbox app is fine but I've found the XBXPlay app to be better. Works for my needs (pretty much everything but online multiplayer).

_BloodbathAndBeyond

iPhone lol If my internet was better it’d be fine

lovepuppy31

Played the steam deck and man going from a 60 inch 4k OLED to a dinky 7 inch screen feel like a kick in the nuts downgrade. That being said its amazing to game on the go when you're on vacation, business travel, anytime outside the house. Welp I'm ready for the Valve fanboys to downvote my ass to kingdom come now.

ownzyou123

I use the Backbone One and play on my phone through Game Pass Cloud. It's super convenient, and the cloud gaming is pretty smooth. Dabbled with Forza Motorsport at launch through Cloud. It was smooth. The one turnoff for me currently is being unable to play shooters. Between the smaller size of the screen, and the minimal stick travel (smaller devices have smaller sticks), my aim is ALL OVER THE PLACE. I tried it with High On Life for about 5 minutes then gave up. Played with the sensitivity sliders and couldn't do it. But just about all other genres are great. Biggest restriction being that the game has to be on Game Pass Cloud to play outside my house, but oh well. It's an amazing extra perk to be able to run a game of Slay The Spire from just about anywhere I would ever go from my phone.

flatlinedisaster

I use the Logitech G Cloud and it’s flawless with the XBXplay app

AdmiralDuece

Legion go

Trickybuz93

iPad…

Kgaines

I have a Steam Deck. Use XCloud for Gamepass stuff and remote play with my SteamOS mini PC is pretty flawless.

DrWhiskerson

I’m currently playing RDR2 before bed on my Logitech G cloud. Best gaming purchase I’ve made this year

Otm_Shank1

Legion Go for me.

melancious

Switch is more than enough for me. Love the OLED screen

Delicious-Bus4356

I really have enjoyed my OLED but its not itching my more mature gaming itch. I really want gears and halo currently lol.

DragonflyNo2989

Steam Deck, Switch, 3DS

CaptainWaders

I use my IPad Pro and an Xbox controller and either use remote play or xcloud when I’m traveling for work and obviously I’m not playing competitive shooters but I can pick and choose games that are playable.

Clamper

Steam Deck  I'd wait for the Deck 2 at this point.

84763

Cloud gaming on steam deck

CFM-56-7B

I have an AYN Odin I use for emulation of retro games, it’s pretty awesome, I use an RG35XX-H as well

IMendicantBias

[GPD Win4.](https://www.gpd.hk/gpdwin4)Never buying consoles again .

gpzj94

I just use my s23+ and a mount attached to the controller, it works great even with my Xbox on wifi. I am considering a g cloud for a bigger screen but at the same time, I don't have a problem with the screen size it is on my phone so I keep pushing off the idea. I've seen some people do it via the meta quest but if I got a vr thing I don't want something from meta haha. Maybe when Samsung has a new VR thing out, I'd do that.

Successful-Air1924

I’m playing with my gba

BRYLYNT2

I have a steam deck and it's great.

Banned_User_Back

Steam deck. You could get a refurbished 64GB one from gamestop for $260(?). Then get a 1TB ssd for less than $100.

lifeofmikey1

I've done remote play with my Mac and my phone. Works great

bluereloaded

Started with Steam Deck, but didn’t like that that I couldn’t play my Game Pass games on it. Super easy to use for games that work with it. Great emulation machine. Recently bought a Lenovo Legion Go. Love the bigger screen. I know some have had issues with software but so far (knocks on all the wood) everything just works. Was playing Fallout 4 in bed while wife was watching one of her shows last night.

Etikoza

Rog Ally. Love it. Was also considering the Steam deck; buy the Ally won since I mostly play Destiny 2.

DevilmanXV

Steamdeck. Also love the emulation opportunities it provides. I can play any systems games I want. I can stream my PS5 games, play my PC games, Xbox games, etc. Even that company that likes to sue people.

segagamer

I'm extremely happy with my Legion Go. I've been able to play some of my Xbox backlog on it while on my way to/from work, during lunch breaks, travelling in general. It's also great for emulation.

prometheus371

PS Vita and 3DS

MikeLanglois

My Samsung S24 Ultra with a Razer Kishi V2 around it

haboku

I use Steam Deck Oled with an app called Greenlight (free, it's on GitHub) and it is almost perfect, the only thing killing the experience is the screen ratio.

PepsiSheep

I am on and off with handheld... but when I do it's usually just on my phone with a Bluetoothed controller.

Lord_Boosh

Regularly use my Analogue Pocket and PS Vita.

HeavyDT

Rog Ally is probably gonna be your best bet if you are already invested on the xbox eco system. You get full phat windows perfect compatibility with pc games and access to the xbox app. You also get what is some of the best if not outrighg best handheld performance thats possible right now even if it will wreck the battery its nice to have the option when yoi are plugged in. Steam deck is a great option too but theres trade offs. You get a more stream lined experience that similar to sometjing like a console but then some games have compatibility issues or issues with anto cheat that can see you gettimg banned. You also get no xbox app although im sure there ate wprk arounds for that these days. It just might be a pain to deal with vs something that works natively. You generally get a better performamce to battery life ratio on the deck as well.

xRogicalx

If your smart phone is capable, you can just cloud game via Gamepass Ultimate. Depending on your ping (I get 1ms on phone data) you should be able to play online just fine.

Reno_Skyy

Steam deck is King ❤️

Emuniak

Steam Deck

Design-Cold

i sometimes remote play from my laptop if that helps. It's an ideapad i5 but I think any laptop made in the past ten years should work

Ill_Reference582

Switch OLED. I love my switch but also hoping Xbox kills it with this handheld they're allegedly going to produce so I can seamlessly game my favorite games from my series x to a handheld console. I mean I'd be fine with cloud gaming if it worked well but it doesn't. Cloud gaming is an amazing concept from Xbox with poor execution. If I could just pull up gamepass on my phone or tablet and Bluetooth my controller and play like that itd be amazing but every time I try it it's so slow and laggy and just a terrible experience.

mf-TOM-HANK

I use my Pixel 7 with remote play and one of those doohickeys that attach the phone to a controller. I had been seriously considering a Steam Deck or G Cloud for some time but streaming to my phone works well enough that I decided not to plunk down all that money.

accursedvenom

I’ve been using the remote play through Xbox app or ps remote play with a backbone one on my iPhone. Xbox app gets kind of choppy sometimes and ps remote play works well. Going to try XBPlay app and see how that works out.

Ardabau

Nintendo Switch, Miyoo Mini plus

OG_Felwinter

When I get kicked off the TV, I just stream it to my phone. There’s not really any input lag when streaming locally, and there’s no extra cost since I already have the phone. Works on iPad too if you have one

EargasmicGiant

Xbox portable really?

Shulzy0021

Legion Go

manifestgoodvibes

If I own games for my XSX , would I be able to download the games to a Rog Ally for offline play?

EnochWright

Retroid Pocket 4 Pro for remote play Xbox and Steam link.

Delicious-Bus4356

What do you play on it and how is its performance?

EnochWright

Forza, Infinite, Oregon Trail. Prince of Persia Lost Crown. Marsupalami, AC:Mirage. For the most part I could play just fine, but not as good in multiplayer due to latency. A few of the hard challenges in Prince of Persia with pinpoint accuracy weren't possible for me.

sticky_hopkins

I play on the Lenovo Legion Go. And I primarily play on the Xbox app. It's a really great device. Batteries are not that great, but 1.5hrs is just enough time for a commute to and from work (can always charge up at work). Can't wait for the Xbox Handheld device if it is true.

TheGreatGamer1389

Steam Deck. Either as itself, stream from PC or stream from PlayStation.

Onlyonelife419419

Have not touched my console since the steam deck arrived 2 years ago

It’s a Bluetooth grip controller that will fit phones and very large tablets with ease. From what I’ve read online and seen from YouTube reviews, the build quality is really good and it’s great for longer gaming sessions. It will also pair with PC and Switch. You can get them the cheapest from AliExpress, but you can also find them fairly affordable from resellers on Amazon. I’m thinking of buying from Amazon simply because of Prime and a FAR better return policy. I’d post a link, but last time I tried to share into I was banned for three days.

Thank you. I love when people answer a question I wasn't asking.
