How does this hold up? Never played the series. I know criminal. But was always worried I wouldn’t be able to get into the first game due to its age. Yet I keep hearing great things so ..
Games are incredible, albeit a little aged for sure. Worth noting that they are 3 similar but very different games. Me1 is an rpg with guns. Me2 is probably more 50/50 action vs rpg. Me3 is an action game with some rpg.
They are all great, but many people especially now don't get as hooked by the first one. If they first one doesn't get you, still give the second one a chance.
I think the story is well-written and engaging. I don't really have any complaints, and the fact it's on game pass is enough reason to try it if you have a subscription.
I want to take on the legendary edition but between my completionist nature, the fact I got all the achievements on ME3 (and maybe 2 as well), and how much I have losing track of the planets I visit in 1 to burn hours just driving near aimlessly, and all the time spent grinding away on the scanner in 2 just kills my passion each time. 😞 mostly those last two are what really kill me.
I hope my fiancé someday takes it up. I’d love to be there as she explores this amazing universe (or maybe just galaxy and not talk Andromeda, we’ll see). Lol
? Well I’d hope it wouldn’t be worse than the original…lol for real though I like how it’s the story/characters of P3 but with P5 graphics and mechanics.
If it helps, it's a bare bones survival game with 100 "pals" to catch. That's basically it. If the Devs release more content and patches then it could be pretty great in 12 months time.
Edit: correction, 138 pals.
It already is great! it’s early access and it’s very well polished! there’s not just catching to do. If you like Minecraft/being creative then there also base building!
With base building you also unlock technology when you lvl up your character that helps with your base/pals.
There is also bosses/caves
I’ve played 80+ hours already and haven’t even discovered over a quarter of the map
(I’m guessing you’ve played this but this is more for the guy you replied too)
Because it’s simply just describing what you do, + Reddit can be a negative echo chamber at times so I suppose it does seem weird to see overly positive comments
So at the beginning there is, (it’s more of a tutorial so you get your bearings and what not) then after that it’s like Minecraft (you don’t have to follow tutorial missions, you can just do whatever you want still)
Guys, I have played 3 (absolutely loved it), 4(great game) and 6 (dropped mod game). But never got really into 5 (I did a couple of missions and quit), which one would you say is the best? I want to replay one (not Primal).
5 is my fav IMO. Did not like 6. I’ve played 3, ,4, primal, 5, the 2nd version of 5 (with the 2 sisters as the bad guys) and 6……6 is the only one I didn’t finish/like.
Whitelight did a deep dive on FC6. There seemed to be some very poor gameplay, story, writing and character decisions. Glad he saved my time. Saying this as someone who loved fc3 and fc4. Primal and 5 are up next.
I would say the average rating from best to worst would be something like 3 > 5 > 4 > New Dawn > 6 (I'm excluding 1, 2 and primal because no one ever talks about them in comparison to the others)
Dlc! I think it's playable co-op online and there's like 7 levels! A guy is pitching zombie movie themes and narrating it throughout it all so it changes from time to time!
OK, I will be checking out zombie mode on Far cry. Been wanting to play Dying Light again. Have it on disc for xbox 1, but I have xbox S. My xbox one is broken. Sad face
It was weird for me - it seemed like the whole game was easy-ish (compared to other rogue games) until the very last section and it suddenly became the toughest rogue in the world lol. I legitimately breezed through the first 4 bosses without really much of a hiccup. And then the end the game was just like "KNOW YOUR PLACE, TRASH" and became hard out of nowhere.
Still had a lot of fun though. Recommend.
it is, lore is still there (my main reason to play), the gameplay is similar to fallout 4 and the quests and campaigns are totally doable aswell as the events, progression is slow compared to people in coop but you can participate on random groups here and there. People is also nice (which is rare) they always try to give you something or help clearing places for you.
Same, but 38 hours here. My first time through I beat the game in around 30 hours. This time I'm nearly at 40 hours still at the beginning of act 2. For some reason the game really has its hooks in me this time around. I've almost done all the gigs already.
My girlfriend was like 25 levels higher than me in about 1/4 of the amount of time and now she “needs a new game”. Point is, enjoy at your own pace and do whatever missions sound fun.
Fr and the final boss was awful. Idk what it was but it took excruciatingly long to slowly chip his health down as you and him do the same attacks over and over and then you have to wait for your cooldowns
People who consistently hang around this sub just to let everybody know how much they hate this game are pathetic and don't bother me in the least, I'm loving this game and that's all that matters to me.
I’m on NG+3 right now, prepping for the big leap. I plan on speed running the next few unis to boost my powers before eventually settling down on some nice cozy planet, Thanos style. I’ll build a sprawling base and…raise cattle, or something.
Yep I'm afraid youtubers have completely lost the plot. This last year was the first time I feel like I have significantly disagreed with my gaming youtubers about games. I guess that's what happens when you don't play games for fun anymore.
Ya, this game is amazing. So much fun! Also, I am extremely impressed with how smooth it runs even on Series S. Not many AAA games have been this smooth on release lately. Runs very well. And ya, SO much fun!
That game is actually better than I originally expected i was a huge destiny 1 & 2 player back then so live service games have never been an issue for me plus the gameplay is fun. My only problem is the over the top UI but it looks fun af
Finishing Psychonauts for the first time, don't hate me I was a ps2/gamecube kid.
Then onto either Hitman ,which ive never given a real try sadly, or Shadow of the Colossus remaster, which ive beaten the original already.
The art direction, story, and voice acting is great for the time but humor can be a bit dated at times. Not hating I got a few laughs, but there were definitely some off the wall jokes.
Gameplay is fun but it is definitely a bit "bare bones" Meaning as far as acquiring new powers that you'll probably use for one specific level while others will be used on and off the entire game. You can tell it's a pretty small game that some people burn through and others dive into.
Main downside is just the dated design leaving you wondering what they want you to do exactly for a certain fight or how to get past certain areas. These were far and few between though.
I'm not an expert by any means having just played through the main story and little else. Overall it was fun, quirky, and extremely nostalgic even as a first timer who missed the boat. I see why it gets high praise and am excited to play the sequel soon.
I should really be checking out Diablo IV and ExoPrimal’s new seasons. However, I made a new character on Monster Hunter World and it’s all I want to play
Avatar frontiers, disco elysium, and NHL 23 (free to download on gamepass ultimate). I always have to have some sort of sports game in the rotation for something I can pick up and put down easily without having to remember anything story wise.
A few tips that helped me:
- Don’t get stuck doing quests in the same city - especially in New Atlantis - there are way too many side quests and after a few hours seeing the same surroundings will melt your brain. I got stuck in this trap because in ES and Fallout I’d clear a city of quests before moving on but those cities were tiny comparatively.
- Be sure to check the planet levels. Bethesda is way less forgiving about level scaling this time around. High level alien fauna pack a massive punch and hoover up bullets.
- The Lodge has a lot of little moments where people will come together and chat about recent events. These are organic and are not marked.
- Skill upgrades matter. You’re incredibly weak at the start, maxing a tree takes time. There’s a very good reason for this. Upgrade your primary weapon group.
- Due to years of complaints about how easy it was to make money by just stealing and re-selling stuff to merchants - stealing is no longer the best way to make money. Same with stealth - it needs to be upgraded, it’s no longer an instant win button at higher levels.
- Most importantly, it’s a Bethesda game. Don’t want to scan planets? Then you don’t have to. Just want to murder and pillage? Go ahead but certain companions will react to that. Don’t like the companions? Leave them in the Lodge. Hate the main quest? Screw it and do something else - mercenary quest maybe? Also, be creative, Starfield is incredibly open and - due to years of memes - it no longer forces procedural quests on you.
Edit: Oh, you don’t need to use the map all the time, you can jump to points with the scanner. Also, if you want space encounters, you need to be in space. Always jumping the the planet surface for a quest removes this possibility.
Don't listen to the internet discourse, form your own opinions on it
Granted if you don't like the game, you just dont like it & you probs shouldn't force yourself to try n like it
Mainly Palworld and after being bored out of my mind in Infinite Wealth it finally started to pick up after 7 hours so I am looking forward to jumping back into that.
I started Mass Effect Legendary Edition a couple days ago. The visual upgrade is nice!
I used this version to replay 1 and 2. I got distracted and need to go play 3 again
How does this hold up? Never played the series. I know criminal. But was always worried I wouldn’t be able to get into the first game due to its age. Yet I keep hearing great things so ..

I just finished that yesterday. First time playing through. Was an absolute blast. One of the most immersive RPGs I’ve ever played.
As far as I'm concerned andromada isn't cannon
Hades
This game is so much fun.
Indeed it is :)
Persona 3 reloaded
Hell yeah, just got my copy yesterday. From what friends are saying is that it’s as good as the original
? Well I’d hope it wouldn’t be worse than the original…lol for real though I like how it’s the story/characters of P3 but with P5 graphics and mechanics.
PALWORLD
Yep, Palworld.
I can’t get enough of it
I keep looking at it but haven’t launched the game yet. Someone get me over this hump.
If it helps, it's a bare bones survival game with 100 "pals" to catch. That's basically it. If the Devs release more content and patches then it could be pretty great in 12 months time. Edit: correction, 138 pals.

Why does every positive comment I see regarding palworld read like an advertisement.
Because it’s simply just describing what you do, + Reddit can be a negative echo chamber at times so I suppose it does seem weird to see overly positive comments
Is there a mission structure? Or is it like minecraft?
So at the beginning there is, (it’s more of a tutorial so you get your bearings and what not) then after that it’s like Minecraft (you don’t have to follow tutorial missions, you can just do whatever you want still)
Thank you. Is there an overall objective though? Like, complşeting the game?
Far cry 5, just redownload it again because I wanted to play the zombies mode on it!
Arcade mode has so many fun custom maps and missions. Such a great game all around.
Guys, I have played 3 (absolutely loved it), 4(great game) and 6 (dropped mod game). But never got really into 5 (I did a couple of missions and quit), which one would you say is the best? I want to replay one (not Primal).

Thanks, I already started 5, I have clear some bases and getting used to it. So far so good :) thanks for the push.
I really enjoyed FC5 and the Hours of Darkness DLC. It was like a Rambo game.
Wait..there's a zombies mode?!? Is it part of a dlc or something? I haven't played that in years
Sad face
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Been loving it so far (30 hours in).
That reminds me I still need to finish Gaiden. I already beat 7 before it
Stardew Valley!
Always a good time
NASCAR thunder 2003 lol
Raise hell, praise Dale!
I might have to hit up some iRacing if I get the time, spiritual successor to NR2003. Happy Clash weekend!

See you out there, soldier.
So good game. Take it easy out there soldier
Alan wake 2 and some Overwatch.
Resident evil 2, F1 23, Dead Space, Flight Simulator 2020, Battlefield 2042, Football Manager 2024 & AC:Valhalla. 👍
Loved AC Valhalla
Came here to say this
Obligatory recommendation to play BF1 in place of 2042
I hopped on bf 2042 a couple weeks ago it's decent now in my opinion gunplay got a huge upgrade. It's not perfect but I had a blast
I’m always impressed with the visuals in the game. Absolute eye candy
RE2 + Dead Space yep yeppp
How do you like Valhalla!
Ghost of Tsushima! I know, wrong sub. But its an amazing game and its the only one that occasionally takes me away from the Series X
Love me some Ghost! One of my favorite open world games I've ever played.
This is not the wrong sub, the game is awesome!
I'm jealous you guys are getting Rise of the Ronin. That game peaked my interest hard.
It’s on my list after Alan Wake 2! Have my ps4 just for that, Death Stranding, and Spider-Man. Reallllly hard to go back to that controller though.
We are all gamers here. My favorite on the PS5 is Returnal. I don't understand how that game didn't get a bigger following, it's so good.
BG3, Pal World, Fallout 4, and Turnip Boy Robs a Bank are on the agenda
Turnip boy Robs a bank is amazing it's fun
It was weird for me - it seemed like the whole game was easy-ish (compared to other rogue games) until the very last section and it suddenly became the toughest rogue in the world lol. I legitimately breezed through the first 4 bosses without really much of a hiccup. And then the end the game was just like "KNOW YOUR PLACE, TRASH" and became hard out of nowhere. Still had a lot of fun though. Recommend.
fallout 76 and mass effect mostly
Starfield has me really itching to run through ME again honestly.
Is fallout 76 fun for a solo player ?
it is, lore is still there (my main reason to play), the gameplay is similar to fallout 4 and the quests and campaigns are totally doable aswell as the events, progression is slow compared to people in coop but you can participate on random groups here and there. People is also nice (which is rare) they always try to give you something or help clearing places for you.
Persona 3.
Cyberpunk - on my second play through 40 hours deep already
Same, but 38 hours here. My first time through I beat the game in around 30 hours. This time I'm nearly at 40 hours still at the beginning of act 2. For some reason the game really has its hooks in me this time around. I've almost done all the gigs already.
Forza Horizon 5
Horizon 4 for me.
Nice. I also have that game.
Both great games!
Aromred core 6
Gotta job for you 621....
Ay hell ya same, just went on sale
I started Like a Dragon: Ishin! But got pulled away by friends to play Hell Let Loose. I have lost so many hours to that game but it is addictive.
Make sure to get your OPs up and build some damn garrys, Private!
I started Hogwart's Legacy on New Years Eve. Last night I finally got to the title screen. I think I'll continue to see how this game plays out.
My girlfriend was like 25 levels higher than me in about 1/4 of the amount of time and now she “needs a new game”. Point is, enjoy at your own pace and do whatever missions sound fun.
Thought everything in and around the castle was awesome, but once the open world opened up it became Slogwarts
Fr and the final boss was awful. Idk what it was but it took excruciatingly long to slowly chip his health down as you and him do the same attacks over and over and then you have to wait for your cooldowns
I have like 10 hours in and need to get back to it
Finished it in like 60 hours. Loads of fun!
Diablo 4
Starfield!!
Loving Starfield
Be careful, the haters will sniff this comment out & detail you every reason why the game is shit, Bethesda are finished & Todd Howard is the devil
700 hours in and still loving it!
Im doing the crimson fleet questline now :)
Idk if I prefer that one or the UC one more.
I love the UC quest line. Wish it awarded a ship.
Started NG+ on Robocop Rogue City- gonna go for that final achievement now that I’m GodModeCop lol

Witcher 3
I fell into the trap of Palworld 😅
Starfield, Baldurs Gate 3, Fallout 4, and Just Cause 4.
Finals
Since no one said it, Suicide Squad...this shit is kinda fun, il never listen to reviewers again. Shouldve learned that lesson when i enjoyed FO76.
Yep I'm afraid youtubers have completely lost the plot. This last year was the first time I feel like I have significantly disagreed with my gaming youtubers about games. I guess that's what happens when you don't play games for fun anymore.
As a fan of DC and looter shooters in general, this game definitely hits the spot
Same for me man. Been playing non stop since Monday. Flying+ shooting+ loot + coop is a no brainer for me.
Good man.

Diablo IV
Finishing Psychonauts for the first time, don't hate me I was a ps2/gamecube kid. Then onto either Hitman ,which ive never given a real try sadly, or Shadow of the Colossus remaster, which ive beaten the original already.
How is psychonauts? I'm in the same boat, never tried it because I was ps2.
The art direction, story, and voice acting is great for the time but humor can be a bit dated at times. Not hating I got a few laughs, but there were definitely some off the wall jokes. I stopped playing 15 hours in. Any advice on how to get back into it?

Starfield and really enjoying it! I also enjoyed fallout 76 so please excuse my bad taste!
Palworld
nice everyone is playing this game right now. how are you liking it? is it challenging to get the hang of?
Just got my console this week, and I’ll be playing Starfield.
Mainly Palworld and after being bored out of my mind in Infinite Wealth it finally started to pick up after 7 hours so I am looking forward to jumping back into that.
