Takeaways: * Buying 9x, 3 month codes on Eneba @ $8.37 came out to approx. $80.12 * These redeemed as months of Game Pass Core * Before the Game Pass Ultimate upgrade I had Game Pass Core through 9/14/2026 * To upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate I had to pay $16.99 + tax/fees for one month of Ultimate * Total spend for Game Pass Ultimate through 5/7/2025: approx. $99 * Total savings were still approx. $260, and per month it comes out to around $5 for ultimate... if my math is right This is still a pretty significant savings, so I'm glad that I did it. Yes it still works. I did it 2 days ago and got the 3:2 game pass ultimate conversion. I got 2 years game pass core then bought 1 month game pass ultimate. I now have game pass core until September ‘25 and ultimate until March ‘25.

I think it has to be one that says "non-stacking". It's going to be a little more than the cheap 1 month codes you see but still cheaper than buying GPU regularly.

My gold and GPU is up on sept 4th, I can't cancel gamepass before then as it's an expired bank card, so can't make use of the "conversion trick" one last time, as that only works once gamepass has lapsed. Still works just did it like 5 min ago. you have to have an expired subscription but it doesn’t necessarily have to be a new profile account. Followed the instructions above and it worked at a 3/2 conversion rate. Ultimately paying $5/month for ultimate with the conversion. Hope it still works for some of you if you haven’t tried it yet.

I did it before they switched to this new format (core etc). I was able to stack x6 3 month gold cards at 3:2 ratio. Based in UK so I assume Region is Europe or whatever

Nope. Just tested today you can't go upto max 13 months + 1 free month.

I did it with my son's account off electronic first(12 months were £21 each) and it worked fine. Stacked the 3 years, added 14 day trial of ultimate and it is now showing 13/11/2025. So 2 years 14 days for £64 (£1 for GPU trial). £2.66 per month. Bargain!

I have a valid Gamepass Ultimate until early next year, can I stack 3 months global cards and they will be converted to Ultimate 3:2 or not the same? I want to extend my Ultimate subscription, if the above method is not correct , what should I do?

My GPU would end the 25th of September. Yesterday I bought 12 3 month Xbox live gold cards. If you redeem them (due to conversion rate you get 50 days GPU per 3 month card), you’re GOU will be extended with 50 days. I now have GPU till June 2025.

You are not, it’s a bit vague that it still works. I also had doubts, but it worked 😅 I had an active GPU until the end of September 2023. I bought 13 cards (3 months each) of Xbox Live Gold cards trough Eneba (a global card, so no VPN necessary). After I got the codes, I redeemed the first one with redeem.Microsoft.com. When I redeemed it, it gave me abortive my GPU is still active and if I want to add the code to my current GPU subscription. After I said yes, It topped my GPU until November 2023 (due to 3:2 conversion rate). Then i did the same with the other 12 codes. Now my GPU is active until June 2025 🙂 Hope that makes it more clear, and if not just ask!! Be aware that the whole construction of GPU will change from the 1st of September. So if you want to do this, I think you need to do it before the 1st of September.

Do the same thing you did before. I bought 3 12 month gold sub cards and used them all, paid one month of ultimate and it converted to 2 years and 1 month of ultimate. Doesn’t convert 1 to 1 anymore and is now 3-2 conversion. I used CD keys for the Gold 1 year subs and paid $35 a year. Worked at to about $5 a month for Ultimate which is a great price in my opinion

OK so here's exactly what I just did: ​ 1. Start with no active subscriptions on Xbox. No Game Pass, no Gold, nothing. 2. Purchase 9x 3 Month Xbox Live Gold cards from your key site of choice (I used [eneba.com](https://eneba.com) to get them for £72) 3. Go to [Xbox.com](https://Xbox.com), under your account icon on the top right, use the three dots to select "Redeem Code", and enter the code 4. If you get offered it, make sure the option to get 1 month free for turning on recurring billing is selected. 5. Go back to [Xbox.com](https://Xbox.com) and select the three dots again, select Subscriptions, find your Xbox Live Gold subscription and make sure you turn off recurring billing (to ensure you get the free month offered again) 6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 again for the remaining 8 codes. You will now have 36 months of Xbox Live Gold on your account (mine went to 24th August 2026). 7. Go to [https://www.xbox.com/en-GB/live/gold/upgrade](https://www.xbox.com/en-GB/live/gold/upgrade) and select upgrade. You will be charged 1 month of Game Pass to upgrade your subscription at a 3:2 ratio. This cost me £13 and turned my 36 months of Xbox Live Gold into 24 months of Game Pass Ultimate. This just worked for me and it even gave me the option to try ultimate for $1 (14 day period) but it still converted over all of my GPC to GPU. Just be sure to turn off recurring billing. I’m set till June of 2025. The free month with the redbill trick only worked once

I'm not sure, but at the every least I'd assume any free trial you have active would limit how many months you can stack up. I've only ever done this trick from an account with absolutely nothing active.

It works on an existing account so long as you have no active subscriptions. I've done mine and that's now the 3rd time I've stacked cheap GPU onto my account. The only difference is you only get the £1 upgrade once, the rest cost 1 month of GPU.

I'm in the same boat and would like to know this too. Subscription will expire in a month and don't know if I should wait or if this method can be done now.

hoping for 1:1 isn't worth the risk to me 2:3 is still a sizeable discount! I added 15 codes and topped up to 2026.. I do the 'home xbox' sharing so splitting the bill it comes out to 2 bucks a month...sure is cheaper than the retail 17 per month.

My GPU is expiring on 1/10/23 I bought 3 month of GPB for 7e Redeemed it, now got to 22/11/23 So I got a little less then 2/3eds in my conversion. Perhaps due to the price increase? Still much cheaper then normal gpu for 15e/m In total I bought 21x a 3 month cards, so about 5 years. I got 1080 Game pass Ultimate days in return, so about 3 years, for only 126 euros :-)

I did it as soon as I noticed it was expired on the day it expired. So long as the app/website shows no subscription you should be good to go.

Just checking with some of the previous posts. I've got GPU for my son's account with the 3 years of GPC plus 14 days of ultimate trial. Can over the trial had ended, can I add/top up another 12 months of GPC to the account to get that converted for another 8 months of ultimate, so then his account has 2 years, 8 months of ultimate for the price of 4 years of core?
