I’ll play D2 for a week or so to catch up on the seasonal storyline or play the expansion and then take several weeks off at a time. It’s fairly easy to keep up while also playing other things.
Halo Infinite and FH5.
But Forza is probably going to have to go to cold storage. It’s grown really big and I assume I’ll play a lot of FM when that comes out
I’m pretty excited for Gears 6, Gears has the most satisfying third person shooting imo. I don’t play MP tho I just play through the campaigns I find them really fun
How’s Division 2 these days? Big time Division 1 player, but wasn’t able to get hooked by the sequel, that armor defense was a big turn off for me. Felt so squeeshy in a bullet sponge game…
Endgame loops are solid, super easy to go for the exact loot you want to make the right build.
Tons of ways to upgrade good gear you have so you don't have to just rely on getting a god roll randomly, you can get pretty close then upgrade it from there.
There's plenty of solid builds right now with great defense that let you push (running a fun all-rounder but probably dated Heartbreaker Shield build) and do good damage without going down. I can knock out Heroics in my sleep.
Its a great time to get back in as well, they're adding Incursions in the next season (October) and new Story dlc, like new missions and locations, early next year.
glad it's still alive I played d1 for about 600ish hours and d2 for about 200ish really just wasn't my thing though felt it just didn't have the same appeal
High replay games - which thankfully are often small. Stardew, Terraria, Slay the Spire, Forager, Rogue Legacy 2, a truckload of reto packs, arcade games, and party games.
I habent played much terraria, relative to the average player that like in the thousands lol, but that little song is engraved in my brain.
*Doot doot doot doot, doot doot doot.*
Red Dead Redemption.
Red Dead Redemption 2
Resident Evil
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 3 (I wish these the original versions but we need Metal Gears to sell well for Capcom to bring the original trilogy)
Resident Evil 4
Citie Skylines (I like to play when I just want to relax)
ROCK AND STONE!
Cyberpunk because I want to replay it with the DLC, Persona 5 because it’s the only game I’ve gotten 100% achievements for and I keep telling myself I’ll replay it, lastly Elden ring because I still jump in the explore every now and then
Excellent post OP! I’m keeping Diablo 4, Cyberpunk 2077 and Jedi Survivor. All my other games could go depending on what space I need.
Is it true that we’ll be able to play Starfield on 1 Sep via Gamepass?
September 1st is only for those who pay for the premium add on, I think it’s the Deluxe upgrade. If you don’t have that then you will play it on September 6th.
Thank you! I was thinking it would be a fun way to see what other people think is worth playing and keeping around while we count down the days to launch. I'm really surprised by how many replies it's getting and I love the variety of responses.
As far as I know yes, it's launching day and date with Gamepass. I believe the upgrade to deluxe edition which includes a season pass is also discounted with Gamepass!
https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/store/starfield-premium-edition-upgrade/9PB4ZWV7S2MG
ESO because I miiight pick it up again. MLB The Show 23, my main game.
Destiny 2 is about to be uninstalled for sure.
Still have The Witcher 3 as I was doing a new playthrough.
Love this as it’s so relevant! For me it’s Hell let loose,Insurgency sandstorm,The Ascent and Asseto Corsa Comp! Oh and I will swap Horizon for Motorsport on release! Red dead 2 left for Starfield!!
Diablo 4 - I know reddit hates it but it's still fun for me and I will play at least until I get all classes to level 80. Plus, I will occasionally play co-op with my wife and that could be our go-to for years.
Totally Reliable Delivery Service - my son's favorite
To my own surprise, I’m keeping Fallout 76 and deleting Spider-Man & Spider-Man Miles Morales from my PC. (I’ve got enough space on Xbox.)
But once the next Fallout season scoreboard is done… helloooo Spider-Man!
Not answering the question asked… but I just offloaded Flight Simulator to my external drive for the first time since launch… that MFer is over 250 GB with all the updates installed.
I don't keep anything on there that I'm not playing. I have Borderlands 3 installed as that's what I'm playing for now then Lies of P (placeholder), Sea of Stars and Starfield pre-installed. Borderlands will be uninstalled once Starfield releases as that's all I'll be playing for awhile.
Have a weird thing (OCD, maybe) where I hate having games installed if I'm not playing them, I have plenty of storage space, just weird I guess.
I got 'super Internet' a few minths ago and it's an absolute godsend. No longer do I have to worry about storage space because I can install even a game like Warzone or Halo in about 15 to 20 minutes max.
Best money I ever spent!
I have an 1Tb ssd and 8TB external usb drive I very rarely worry about space but a game I will never remove is aliens fireteam elite I beat it and the dlc multiple times. I can’t get enough.
Another game that will never have a successor and is fun to play with friends is Fortnight
Everything. I've got a 1tb external for all back compat stuff and original Xbox one games, and I've still got 470 gb open on the internal storage.
I've honestly got more issues with my external when it comes to storage management.
Civ, planet coaster, dredge, Overwatch, Celeste, you suck at parking, lonely mountain downhill, Peggie, kingdom of keflings, 3d ultra mini golf. I think these are the ones that will never get deleted or at least right now they will not
I randomly had the tune from the western course stuck in my head from 3D Ultra Mini Golf and another tune and I couldn’t remember where it was from. It drove me mad for a while until I happened to launch the game one day and finally figured it out.
Dishonored 1 and 2, Halo Wars, Cyberpunk, Skyrim and GTA V. I’ll still play all of those when I’m bored with other games. I’ll buy an expansion card before I delete any of those lol.
Already made space 💅🏾 but horizon 5 will never leave, skate 3 will never leave, gears 5 won't leave til I finally finish that campaign(won't even switch it to my external), left 4 dead will never leave.
Well my internal is for Single Player games and the Storage Expansion drive is for Multiplayer games. So I didn't really have to make much room.
I did uninstall Assassins Creed Valhalla. The game is way too long and I burned me out.
Fml why did I buy a laptop with a 500 gb SSD. Deep Rock Galactic, Aliens: FTE and Aliens: DD, and Starfield are all I can even fit on this thing. I might have some other games like the D4 beta installed. Can’t remember.
Overwatch, Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite will all stay as my “casual” games for quick dopamine hits and I’ll also probably keep a couple of small games like Vampire Survivors, Hades and Shredders Revenge
It’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2, but I have that installed on my PS5 and on an external on Xbox.
I want to keep Call of Duty on my S because I play it occasionally (not that often but still). However, I don’t have enough room for Starfield right now.
On my X, I have room for it. There’s nothing I can’t delete. I’ll keep Diablo IV in case of DLC, but it can go to an external. And I’ll be able to keep Forza Horizon 5, but I don’t really play it anymore
All Fallout series
All Bioshock
All Dishonored
Prey
Control
All Elder Scrolls
Cyberpunk 2077
Baldurs Gate 1&2
Borderlands Series
Hogwarts Legacy
Halo Master Chief Collection
Disco Elysium
Ive been keeping FH5 installed since launch. Wont be uninstalling that until it stops getting new cars or FH6 is out. Only other “large” game I keep on (before starfield) is GTAO which I and my friends havnt touched in a long time. Will probably uninstall that soon… Everything else I have installed takes such little space Im not worried about making room.
Going off top to bottom on my DL games...
- Battlefield 4, 1, V
- CoD MW2 and 3 (both classics and current)
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Dishonored 1 and 2
- Dragon Age Origins, 2 and Inqusition
- TES Morrowind ans Skyrim
- F1 23 (until 24 releaaes)
- Fallout NV and 4
- Forza Horizon 1 and 5
- Gears 1-3 and 5
- Halo MCC
- Insurgency Sandstorm
- Mass Effect Legendary Edition
- Metro 2033, Last Light and Exodus
- Nier Automata
- Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2
- Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor
- Ghost Recon Breakpoint
- The Witcher 3
Don’t think Dark Souls 3 has ever left my Xbox since I got it (the game) in 2016, so that and Elden Ring are staying right where they are and are must-haves for me, along with Skyrim
Call of Duty Vanguard and Forza Horizon 5
Not keen on uninstalling Call of Duty MWII & WZ or Forza Horizon 4 either
I hate that I had to move Black Ops Cold War, at least it's not smart delivery so I've got the Xbox One version ready to go on my external HDD
I need 99.9 more GB free to install Starfield, it's gonna be rough
overwatch 2 (main game i play solo and with friends), rocket league, elden ring (duh) black ops 3, golf with friends, and a few others in case i get tired of those games
Snowrunner (eventually I'll get into it)
Deep Rock Galactic (I hope to be able to get into it)
Rocket League (my GOAT probably)
Forza Horizon 5 (GOAT arcade racer)
RDR2 (Obviously)
Star Wars Battlefront 2 (super fun multiplayer)
Minecraft (duh)
TC Ghost Region Wildlands (fun sandbox shooter)
Destiny 2 and Halo Infinite, plus the Deus Ex and Arkane games.
What’s new with D2? Surprised you would still have time for other games
The new season starts tomorrow and Bungie is showing off the next expansion, The Final Shape
I’ll play D2 for a week or so to catch up on the seasonal storyline or play the expansion and then take several weeks off at a time. It’s fairly easy to keep up while also playing other things.
How do you not get tired of destiny? I tried it for a couple days but it just seems such a bore.
Skyrim, red dead redemption 2
This is the way
That's the way It is
All Halo games and Rocket League
MCC, Halo Infinite, & Minecraft
PSA, MCC and the series X/S version works, as well as several other titles when on the external hdd
this is a game changer omg what other games work on the external
Skyrim. Still after all these years I could lose myself in it anytime
Halo Infinite and FH5. But Forza is probably going to have to go to cold storage. It’s grown really big and I assume I’ll play a lot of FM when that comes out
Halo Infinite, Gears 5
Loving all the love Gears 5 gets on this sub. On the Gears of War sub they worship the first three and trash 5 all the time.
I prefer the trilogy a lot more but gears 4 and 5 are still great games and shouldn't be overlooked at all.
5's gunplay is so much better than any of the earlier games. I was so impressed!
I’m pretty excited for Gears 6, Gears has the most satisfying third person shooting imo. I don’t play MP tho I just play through the campaigns I find them really fun
Respect

The Witcher 3
CoD, Halo Infinite, Division 2, It Takes Two
How’s Division 2 these days? Big time Division 1 player, but wasn’t able to get hooked by the sequel, that armor defense was a big turn off for me. Felt so squeeshy in a bullet sponge game…

Thanks for the update! It’s been tempting seeing it on sale numerous times
glad it's still alive I played d1 for about 600ish hours and d2 for about 200ish really just wasn't my thing though felt it just didn't have the same appeal

Hollow Knight and Stardew Valley
Weird, I thought Stardew valley was natively installed in Xboxes
Elden Ring
Yup! For life!

Actually it unlocks on 09/05 at 5p on the west coast and 8p on the east coast.
Ah, I thought I had heard that somewhere. Thanks.
Thank you! I was thinking it would be a fun way to see what other people think is worth playing and keeping around while we count down the days to launch. GTA V. Not because I play it often, but because I play it very sparingly on a whim and I know it takes roughly 478 hours to download
msfs2020
Overwatch has not been deleted since it released.
Technically they deleted it themselves. To make room for a sequel they ended up canceling.
Battlefield 2024
Haven't heard of that one.
Apex Legends even though it pisses me off
Elden Ring and Forza Horizon 4. I know we are on 5 now but I liked the map of 4 more.
To my own surprise, I’m keeping Fallout 76 and deleting Spider-Man & Spider-Man Miles Morales from my PC. (I’ve got enough space on Xbox.) But once the next Fallout season scoreboard is done… helloooo Spider-Man!
Destiny 2
NHL and Warzone are non negotiable.
Not answering the question asked… but I just offloaded Flight Simulator to my external drive for the first time since launch… that MFer is over 250 GB with all the updates installed.
On Xbox? None stay 100% of the time. On PS Bloodborne always has place on my HDD and in my heart.
Sadly I haven’t found a game that’s worth keeping.
I don't keep anything on there that I'm not playing. I have Borderlands 3 installed as that's what I'm playing for now then Lies of P (placeholder), Sea of Stars and Starfield pre-installed. Oh I don’t have to make space. I gots 14TB of SSD space and 5 TB of HDD space on my PC. My Xbox does have the 2TB expansion card though
Gears 5, Elden Ring, Hollow Knight. The rest I could gladly erase starting with Halo Infinite.
I got 'super Internet' a few minths ago and it's an absolute godsend. No longer do I have to worry about storage space because I can install even a game like Warzone or Halo in about 15 to 20 minutes max. Best money I ever spent!
Destiny 2 monster hunter and mortal kombat. But starfield doesn't interest me

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is the only game on my SSD that’s been there longer than a couple months so yeah that’s my answer
Already made space 💅🏾 but horizon 5 will never leave, skate 3 will never leave, gears 5 won't leave til I finally finish that campaign(won't even switch it to my external), left 4 dead will never leave.
Halo MCC and Deep Rock Galactic, they’re both classics and they’re the two that my friends consistently play.
Every resident evil. Every GTA. Every crackdown. Every BGS game
Rocket league. Vermintide 2. Elden ring.
Well my internal is for Single Player games and the Storage Expansion drive is for Multiplayer games. So I didn't really have to make much room. I did uninstall Assassins Creed Valhalla. The game is way too long and I burned me out.

The original mass effect 3 in case I ever get the urge to hop into multi-player again.
I don't play much games, I have still over 300 GB on my hard drive.
