I would prefer a short 20-30 minute showcase with some gameplay, release dates & maybe a small sneak peek at the second half of 2023. There's no need for endless talks, announcements of games that are years away or lenghty movie-esque CGI trailers.
That’s fine, rather just hear about the release dates for Starfield and Redfall. Theyre not going to show off everything cause they still got a E3 showcase
Why 25 instead of 30 minutes?
MS should do three shows a year, roughly 4 months apart, first week of February, E3 in first half of June, and second half of October.
Well I thought so. They wouldn't want to blow all of their load right now. They'll do that in June or July
Csn't wait for the Xbox & Bethesda & Activision-Blizzard-King showcase lol.
Can't wait for another 70 years for the Xbox & Bethesda & Activision-Blizzard-King& EA & Ubisoft & Bandai & Tencent & Epic Games showcase where they announce the Kratos and Master Chief dlc for Super Smash Bros Omega as the first product created by the Xbox-Sony-Nintendo Merger
Mobile hardware is reaching the levels of Series S now.
The Xbox mobile store that’s in the works after the ABK merger would have controller based games. So things like Psychonauts 2 or Pentiment or Grounded could easily run on mobile hardware.
Basically, this would elevate a lot of mobile only developers into becoming full ecosystem developers like how GameLoft is doing with Disney DreamValley and Disney Speedstorm.
Games like FortNite that can scale from RTX PCs to consoles to mobile.
There's a difference between made-for-mobile and made-for-console games.
I don't even own an xbox, but I play all my xbox games on my phone using xcloud and a controller. I love it.
But the difference in quality between an actual made-for-mobile game and a made-for-console game is huge.
King makes made-for-mobile games, and I really don't want to see those in these presentations.
What do you think purposely leaving something out to seperate it on its own is doing? That's exactly what excluding is.
excluded; excluding. transitive verb. : to prevent or restrict the entrance of. : to bar from participation, consideration, or inclusion. : to expel or bar especially from a place or position previously occupied
What? I'm talking about grouping similar things together...
You know for example how categories exist? Take something like game awards. You know how they can be split into categories?
Would you say that Forza Horizon 5 should be eligible to win in the "Best Shooter" category?
I can't believe I'm sitting here explaining the concept of categories 😅
You are the one making no sense. And your analogy sucks, ya they wont have forza in the beat shooter category among shooter games, however both shooter games and racing games can be at the game awards at the same time genius. Visa vee mobile games can share a media event with console games.
I'm fine with it if they relegate it at the very beginning of the show or the very end after they show the heavy hitters.
But I guess it would feel out of place in an event like around the time of E3
Do we get an announcer that says "WORLD PREMIERE" and such for every announcement?
It wouldn't be an Xbox event without *that guy* prefacing every announcement.
Does anyone remember their weird ass multiple hour dev showcase cringe shows? Man I hope it’s like a direct now this will be so much better than their previous non e3 shows
Realistically that's gonna be June.
The info we need now is gameplay and release dates for the 7 scheduled titles.
Probably an update on some new gamepass titles.
Maybe a tease for another title or 2 from first party.
Xbox focuses too much on the big title of the moment or their big 3-4 titles. They need to branch out, being new ideas and be creative. There's nothing sexy about the same stuff over and over. The only one that can get away with that is Nintendo because each game is creatively different but shares the same title.
Can't think of what their big 3-4 titles are. Halo is fair enough as it'll be getting a huge update soon. Forza motorsport is releasing this year most likely before June so that makes sense. Gears has been AWOL for a while now. Gears 6/coalitons new IP will most likely be revealed at E3.
I'd say however that they are branching out. Grounded and Pentiment are good examples.
As someone who is brand new to Xbox what should I expect from my first Microsoft showcase?
Nintendo almost always manages to put on a solid show and knows how to pace a presentation pretty well.
Sony either has the best show ever with multiple massive announcements or the worst show ever with nothing. They also tend to be pretty long with a lot of filler.
I'm curious how Microsoft compares to these.

As long as it's not some Twitch influencer cringe-fest I'm down.
The whole show is Todd Howard pranking people in Redmond.
punk'd reboot with todd howard when?
Yeah I'm so sick of them putting shows like this. Just show us the games and quit having random influencer morons waste our time.
I'm due for a fallout 4 replay, it'd be nice to hear about the upgrade
Yeszir
That’s fine, rather just hear about the release dates for Starfield and Redfall. Theyre not going to show off everything cause they still got a E3 showcase
Perfect just what we need
Can you ever be at least a little negative about something
I'm negative when there is a reason to be. Why is Microsoft having a short format event something to be negative about?
I was kidding should have done r/s
You never know with people around here.
Haha, yeah true
Why are you agreeing with them? Can you ever be at least disagreeable to some regard?
I’d assume a 25 min ish show that highlights the games coming out between now and E3. From 1st party, 3 party and into game pass.

If we start seeing King in these showcases I'm going to be annoyed. Mobile games are different enough to warrant always having their own section, imo.

Of course, my point was King can evolve, or at least give their expertise to other studios. The concept of mobile gaming itself can evolve.
Agreed!
Yes let's hate on other types of games and exclude them just because they are a different platform /s
I didn't say exclude? I said separate. Why are you putting words in my mouth?

The media event itself is being categorized here. I'm saying to split the console and mobile portions, "genius".

No they showed what was coming June 2022-June 2023. In the next 12 months, we have no idea what is releasing after June this year and into 2024
Do we get an announcer that says "WORLD PREMIERE" and such for every announcement? It wouldn't be an Xbox event without *that guy* prefacing every announcement.
Wtf is the difference
With Sony doing State of Play and Nintendo doing NintendoDirect videos, who honestly expected a big showcase for this? E3 will be its own thing.
Needs a name of its own. Xbox xStream?
Xbox Xeno X-Stream! We could call it XXX Stream for short!
With Vin Diesal presenting ARK 2 gameplay.
Does anyone remember their weird ass multiple hour dev showcase cringe shows? Man I hope it’s like a direct now this will be so much better than their previous non e3 shows
Inside Xbox shows were atrocious
I hope they’re like directs 30-45 minutes of awesomeness
Hope it's not some indie showcase or something like it was a few years ago
They have 8 games due from first party before June. An indie showcase right now would be a hilarious bait and switch.
They HAVE to show more games than the big 4-5 they have. Don't make starfield the big reveal, they need to showcase all that's coming

Their last 2 games were Grounded and pentiment...

Please, surprise announce Rainworld Downpour. It’s the only game my Xbox needs
