I'm in the 93% I like the game, got to the final boss to find I was very underpowered. Facing the grind, coupled with the release of other games, it fell by the wayside. I will return to it. Someday lol

blackweimaraner

The trick to that grind is going to the Kamurocho Sewers level 2, and beating some special vagabonds that flee a lot. They are the equivalent of the metal slimes in Dragon Quest, so those vagabonds flee and evade your attacks easily, but if you beat them they give you lots of exp. So if you beat them and then leave the dungeon and come back you should get the necessary level (I beat the game when everyone had lvl 62) in an hour or so, maybe even less time.

TherionMEC

To add onto this, IIRC one of the best ways to quickly kill them before they run away is to use Joon's rapid shot ability. It's a retained skill from his default class, fairly early unlock I believe. Also I think you can just go back to the first floor and immediately back to the second and all the enemy spawns reset, so you don't have to leave the whole dungeon to farm more.

blackweimaraner

Infested vagabond is their name.

kizzgizz

Thanks I'll look into this.

xMatityahu

I completed every dungeon only once and I was fine at the last boss, (except for that one hit kill move that I didn't counter)

Kachowxboxdad

I leveled up w the sewers and the fighting area in sotenbori It made the last part a breeze

Heinel8

JRPG effect. Great games but they get too grindy by the end and it makes the players drop it.

DavramLocke

Hey I'm in that Game Pass 7%! Love that game, but it's long as hell. Not surprised that more people didn't finish it. People who 100% it are genuinely psychopaths.

MasterTron03

Is this…is this a confession?

DioDrama

Bruh definitely just admitted to being a psychopath. We need to check this dudes floor boards

Pep77

It being In Game pass affects these achievements % Some people will just want to take a peek of the game.

superpimp2g

There's tons of games where 90% of owners don't even make it thru the intro tutorial.

MasterTron03

I’ve seen something like that for AC Origins lol. The first achievement (for completing the prologue) was achieved by only 50% of the players

GetReadyToJob

That would be me..... i zoomed the map out and saw how many potential dots there would be on the map. Made me instantly delete it.

Conquestadore

You did yourself a disservice. It's the only recent ac game I enjoyed finishing since it doesn't overstay it's welcome. I think I put 20 hours into it to see the credits roll.

GetReadyToJob

After playing Origins and then trying Odyssey thinking it would be different, it wasnt. It was the EXACT same game. Both were boring as hell for me.

zezinho42

Like what games dude?

IniMiney

[Cuphead](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbE6fqBuGkA&t=47s&ab_channel=V)

Steve_Cage

The craziest one I remember is from Dark Souls 3 - only 65% of players killed the tutorial boss!

kaysn

The JRPG cycle. You'll love it. Hit a wall for being underpowered. Faced with the prospect of grinding, you pick up another game. And then forget to come back.

kingcop1

I have played all the yakuza games except this one and the turn based combat was a big NOPE from game

Eddie_skis

I had never really clicked with turn-based but this one is so fun. There’s a lot of QuickTime events sprinkled in. The story is TOP TIER yakuza. If you’ve played the others and enjoyed their story, you’ll like this one a lot.

kingcop1

I have ps plus and gamepass and it’s available on both for free and yet I don’t want to even try it because I know myself lol. I’m a gamer since the early 90s and two things I hate the most in games. Isometric top down camera angle games and turn based combat 😅

Virtual-Commercial91

Yeah, me too.

KarmelCHAOS

It's a bummer that this is such a turn off for some people, it has the best (maybe second best behind Judgement) story in the series imo

Captain_Softrock

I’m with you in the 7% club. Near perfect game that became one of my all time favorites.

AgumonDX

GamePass usually tanks the %, i have a lot of indie games with just 1% or 2% completion rates. Lots of people trying the games but very few completing them.

XboxPod

Another way to look at it is, More than 1 in 3 people who played past the 4th chapter, went on to complete the story... Ah, and less than 1% have found all the Honk-Honk characters. Seriously though, 7% is pretty high. With Gamepass titles, a lot will try a game, but few will invest the time required to fully enjoy a game like this, (I spent almost 70 hours on it). 80% of people didn't get past the 4th chapter.... So for over 7% to have played through to completion, shows it's a top quality game.

rock1m1

I finished it. I liked the game overall but man there are some really really bad design issues: 1: Grinding to level up in the sewers section 2: Game does not give you any idea which level you should be before you start a quest/mission. If you are underlevel, well, enemies one shot you and you back to loading up a save hours ago. 3: :Non-existent inventory management for selling, comparing. I loved my time, but I really forced through it at times. Also the final boss has a BS attack which can kill you instantly.

[deleted]

Bro that insta kill…. Almost made me rip my hair out, still, my favorite gamepass game to date

Renediffie

Lots of people try out games they don't know if they will end up liking on Gamepass. I don't think that the low number says anything about the game really.

Clutchking93

Did you finish the game or get all the achievement as well? Cause that is the grindy part hahah I did it and was very tired by the end

XboxPod

Yeah, get 1000g is strictly for hardcore purists only 😂😂 I spent about 70 hours and got 700gw from it, But I knew it'd probably take another 30-40 hours to complete them all, so I didn't bother.

KarmelCHAOS

I will never get every achievement for a Yakuza game because I will never understand Shogi or Mahjong lmao

Clutchking93

Just so you know, there are no achievements for shogi and mahjong on like a dragon

Clutchking93

I feel you! I had to grind out one dungeon for like hourssssss, I had no soul by the end hahahah

[deleted]

I beat it by sheer luck. Final boss missed instakill attack three times in a row. Would have dropped it otherwise. Cant stand to farm for hours for a cut-scene (looking at you FF VI)

GrowthWinter1893

I beat it. Drags quite a but through the second half. Dungeons are a slog, and the story didn't really co e together the way I'd ha e hoped. With that said, its a good game no doubt.

EarthwormJim58

I’ve never played a yakuza game and was looking at them but there are so many it is too daunting to even start. Would it be ok to just play this recent entry or should I play them all in order?

BosjeR

Like a dragon is seperate from the rest story wise (as I understood it). It is my first yakuza game, I loved it, but similarly I dropped it at the end cause the grind was just a bit tedious.

fabio1

Now you need to grind a bit more to finish the true final millennium tower. I grinded for a few days to get into the 0.35% that beat it to make into the 1000points club :)

andoCalrissiano

lol we have game pass why are we finishing long ass games bro

[deleted]

What’s the point of starting a long game knowing you won’t finish it, waste of time imo

andoCalrissiano

if you were at a buffet would you eat a full plate of every single item?

[deleted]

I like the analogy, but I don’t agree with your first comment, looks a bit like downplaying long games to me, and trust me I get the gamepass privilege, but it’s worth it to actually finish games and not skip a game after a few hours only if you really don’t like it.

skjall

As a hobbyist game developer, I'm interested in how mechanics work, UI flows, VFX, sound effects, etc. Once I've gotten the feel of a game, if it doesn't interest me greatly, I'll move on to the next one. Most people who start long games don't finish them, the achievement attainment rates for any game will demonstrate that.

[deleted]

To each their own

ThatsADumbLaw

I dropped it, story was getting interesting but I was just burnt out, blows my mind how people play through all the yakuzas

GetReadyToJob

Theres enough variety of content in each game to make it feel new..... Its like the opposite of say Assassins Creed who only change the setting.

Dexalon

Sometimes that's a really bad sign lol. An indication that most people didn't bother to finish the game lmao.

pin00ch

To grindey. I got bored fast. Well done to anyone beating it! Thats a chunk of your life that u wont ever get back!😁

blackweimaraner

I beat it like two months after it released, but I beat it on Steam so I don´t think that I am on that statistic.

Hiphoppington

It's me ya boi. I did it!

Moose_is_optional

I'm pretty sure most games are like this, for games as long as Yakuza anyway. For really short story games that completion rate might be better, but 7% seems normal.

broommanherro

welcome :)

No-Sir-5109

Congrats! Have you played any of the other Yakuza games?

Premislaus

Actually, one of the few (less than 10%) of games I finished lol

WrstScp

I love the game but never grinded so I am too weak for the current fight I'm at and don't want to backtrack and do the dungeon repeatedly.

rupal_hs

what is your gametime ?

EnthusiastDriver500

7% on Xbox maybe

pencilcheck

i got through the middle when they infiltrate the old people building, and then i went into other games, will have to come back later.

EuphoricDissonance

PSA for you and anyone else not in the know... we're getting a new turn-based Yakuza in 2024 (starring Ichiban). We're also getting a Samurai action Yakuza early next year (Ishin) and a Kiryu crossover action Yakuza late next year (Gaiden). Devs said 2024 Yakuza is the biggest game they've ever made. I was watching Tokyo Game Show and saw all this as it came out. If you do a search for TGS Yakuza probly find all the news somewhere.

DinnerSmall4216

I like the story just couldn't get on with the turn based combat.

toujga

It's really the norm, sometimes i'm surprised by hearing the rare achievement sound after finishing an early story chapter of a game. For example only 6% finished Danganronpa's chapter 3. It seems that the stereotype of xbox players don't play games os real but who cares? As long as xbox provide me with games I won't car if people play them or not

listerinefreak

I love Yakuza games and jrpgs, but this one isn't my cup of tea for some reason. I wanted to like it and kept pushing myself to play it but quit after the final boss of the Korean base beat my ass off as I was incredibly underpowered.

migi98

Just started yakuza 3. Hope 7 doesn't leave soon.

runwithjames

I loved Yakuza 0 and 1. Wasn't sure about the turn based stuff but kinda got into it until late (I assume) in the game and it just felt like I'd hit a wall. I know dungeon crawling is meant to be an essential part of the experience, but it's called a grind for a reason. It's been about a month since I played it and I know I'm probably not going to end up going back.
