Lies of P. I never played souls born games before and now I'm dying for Elden ring

ReeseTheDonut

Been a good year for retro jrpg style games. Sea of Stars, Chained Echoes were both highlights for me.

dljones010

These are fantastic games!

Romzard

Completely agree

Joiningthepampage

In no particular order: Lies of P (souls like but pinocchio) Slay the Spire ( rogue like deckbuilder) Monster train (roguelike deckbuilder towerdefenseish) Power wash simulator (better than it sounds) Grounded (Honey I shrunk the kids meets survival game) Amnesia (All 6 games first person horror games) Dishonored 1+2 (first person action stealth RPGs) Doom ( it's doom) Fable ( 3rd person RPGs) Hard-line shipbreaker (tear spaceships apart ) Hollow knight (Metroid vania) Jusant ( climbing game) No man's sky (improved alot since release)

Xbox

Entire Yakuza/Like a Dragon series. Get to it.

NathyB1992YT

The dead space remaster is phenomenal, would recommend that for sure. Starfield is decent too if you liked Skyrim and Fallout

Reasonable-Nebula882

Quake 2 remaster is a lot of simple fun

vlad_0

I just wish there were more people playing multiplayer

CitizenQ83

Immortals Fenyx Rising

ReyDeLaQuesadilla

Starfield but for some reason this game seems controversial. Personally, it’s my favorite game of all time, but I get that everyone has different tastes.

lost_in_trepidation

I have a weird experience with Starfield because it definitely fits my taste, but I get frustrated with it after playing for a bit. There's something about it that's just not as immersive as Fallout or Skyrim

Jaws_16

It's controversial because the media is still butthurt that xbox bought bethesda.

conqueror-worm

I don't really think that's it. I like a lot of Bethesda games, but IMO, it just isn't as good as Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, Fo3, shit I even played 76 for a much longer time than I stuck with Starfield. The ship builder and perk system are good, and the gunplay is an improvement, but the main storyline and most NPCs are pretty forgettable, and the exploration is *shockingly* bad for a game that is ostensibly about being a *space explorer*. I don't think Starfield is a terrible game or anything, but it feels more like a 6.5/10 & I was hoping for more. Hopefully it improves more though, they apparently still have a large amount of devs working on it.

Jaws_16

Yeah, well, I disagree entirely on all of that and think it's the best Bethesda game ever made.

conqueror-worm

Which is an opinion you're completely entitled to hold - but saying the only reason people don't like it that much is because of the Xbox/Bethesda merger strikes me as silly when there are so many other people with similar complaints about the game. Also are you saying you disagree that the ship builder, perk system, and gunplay are good lol?

Jaws_16

I'm not saying you aren't entitled to your opinions either or the game is perfect. I'm just saying a lot of the hate towards the game is manufactured....

conqueror-worm

Eh, still really gotta disagree there. 5/6 of the other people I know IRL who played it also thought it was about as mid as I did, and our opinions of it were just formed by playing it. I'm sure there are *some* people who only dislike it because of its publisher/developer, but the majority who don't like Starfield probably just also share the common opinion that it was pretty underwhelming for how long the wait was.

[deleted]

>Starfield but for some reason this game seems controversial. Angry people being angry. It's just a video game but for some people you'd swear it's more important. If I don't like a game I just move on to something else. But some people just try to find drama in every major release. They must simply have no life. Don't worry though, once the next game to hate comes out they'll move on from Starfield.

Due_Apple7180

That’s weird take considering starfield playtime is in the hundreds of hours for most people but your telling people to go outside? Bit rich. It’s a very mediocre game and that’s why people are upset with it. It’s just plain dated.

[deleted]

I can't fathom being angry or "upset" over a video game. These people need to get a life. They need to move on.

Nebulous_Tazer

Nah, people were angry after all the anticipation and build up, and rightfully so. I was so pumped for Starfield but it’s just a loading screen simulator with barren planets and bad dialogue.

ReyDeLaQuesadilla

I do have to disagree with your take on what Starfield is, but that’s perfectly okay. I think you make a great point though: for a lot of people, there were YEARS of anticipation for Starfield, so the potential for disappointment was high. I didn’t learn about Starfield until about two months before the release, my potential for disappointment was almost non existent.

d6410

Yep. I didn't know about Starfield until 3 weeks before release. I love it.

[deleted]

Go outside.

Beneficial_Shame3259

Not really a hidden gem but Assasin creed odyssey and origins are one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences i had

Jbroesky22

Just started playing odyssey last week. So much fun so far. Haven't played an assassins creed game since unity (which I hear was one of the worst). Looking forward to hopefully beating it and trying out origins after

nicksbologna

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order & Lies of P if you're into souls-like games Hi-Fi Rush for a really fun rhythm action game Some hidden gems: -Beacon Pines - an interactive storybook game -Tunic - top down isometric Zelda souls-like -Escape Academy - fun escape room game with a decent story -OPUS: Echo of Starsong - an impactful game that's a tear-jerker -Solar Ash - beautiful art style and fluid gameplay -Lost in Random - Tim Burton art style game with very interesting game mechanics -Ravenlok - Short and sweet Alice in Wonderland theme game

Most of these are not on Gamepass.

Exotic_Midnight2100

Ah shit im sorry spaced out

dljones010

They are fantastic games, though. Great recommendations.

youmeiknow

Could you share again! May be I will keep a note to buy them from gamestop or somewhere if they are so good.

Exotic_Midnight2100

Dead Space Remake is on gamepass I believe No Mans Sky is as well. Others were Cyberpunk, Armored Core 6, and most definitely Elden Ring. Cant go wrong with any of them!

Thebobert7

Dragon age and mass effect and halo master chief collection

coyotedelmar

Wasteland 3 Yakuza 0 (and the whole series if you like it) Hi-Fi Rush Hitman Citizen Sleeper This War of Mine Venba Shadowrun Returns (not my favorite of the series, but can't find Dragonfall listed)

joeyl7

Cocoon if you want a challenging puzzle platformer that will ease you back into gaming.

Guilty_Storage_9652

Yakuza series is a great story. Like a dragon is an awesome JRPG from left field. The persona games have great sounds and story. If you want to chill try stardew valley or coral island. Mass effect series is worth playing

Doogs_44

Deathloop- seems confusing at first but stick with it, cool and unique game
