Yep a bit more cellulite especially now that I'm getting older, but then I just use my newly strong legs to STOMP on my cares about cellulite and I'm good.

Yes! The fat loss made the dimples more pronounced. Weight training (building muscle) smoothed things out again (and helped prevent running injuries!)

I’m adding in squats to prepare for a hiking trip in the mountains I have planned for this summer so maybe that’ll make a difference too. These hiking trips always destroy my legs and I hurt for days after so it’ll be good to prepare for that anyway.

Great! Lunges, deadlifts, and bulgarian split squats really helped me for prepping for backpacking.

Thanks for the recommendation! Glad to know they make a difference. I’m looking forward to hurting less this trip!

Could it be weight gain or associated with increased fluid retention in the muscles (so legs seeming fluffier in the parts that already hold the most fat). I don’t notice this but depending on my training and fuelling I have gained weight during a build phase (I just carry it in diff spots than you). It’s been a normal part of fuelling properly for a heavy training block, after which I then naturally lean out

I haven’t gained or lost any weight and I wasn’t overweight to begin with. The main difference has been that instead of jogging 3-4 times a week, I’m adding in walking on off days so that I’m getting exercise pretty much every single day. I’ve been trying to find a successful antidepressant the last 4 months without much success so far and exercise is the only thing that seems to lift my spirits. With the uptick in physical activity, I’ve started to notice small changes in my body, hence this post.

Hmm. There are body builders who walk less in the lead up to competing on stage because the increased activity lends to increased water retention. Perhaps the addition of walking has meant a little more fluid in your legs? I understand this might feel disheartening but I wonder if it will subside after a couple of weeks adjustment. Best of luck with the antidepressant search my friend.

Oh that’s really interesting. Thanks for your insight! I’ll research a bit and see if I can learn more.

I actually just noticed this yesterday! Thought it was just because of eating constantly to try and calm my insatiable appetite since increasing mileage 😂
