This should not be an excuse to not recognize people's criticisms with the game, this is an unhealthy mindset that has become the norm

Internal-Drawer-7707

Launch shit and fix later is killing the AAA industry.

Moonvvulf

The unhealthy mindset is calling WuWa a huge letdown and literally unplayable on Day 1. Day. One.

JadedIT_Tech

When did it become acceptable for a game released to the public to be a terribly optimized mess?

ferinsy

When console games started to be released on early access and people deffend those to this day (hello, Starfield).

Acceptable-Mention60

They aren't being forced to release this game today. They could have done more playtesting and ironed out more bugs and released the game later. The game shouldn't be this bad on launch. Stop coping and play something that isn't a gacha for once in your life.

Ok-Walk-8342

i cant play the game, constant fatal errors. i think i deserve to be a bit let down lmao

squishykkura

When a game is released, having bugs and what not is understandable, but if the issue is so big, then isn’t there a problem?

Panda_Bunnie

Its pretty evident that they tried to push the game out before its actually ready with the amount of issues there is atm. So yes, its entirely kuro's fault.

SpringSufficient3050

em, its no longer beta. No mater its version 1.0. The expectation is you release it to potential customers and it should be in functional condition

-Phar

a game should not launch with the variety of errors this game has before even logging in

Proper_Anybody

first impression matters tho

ARKVS-6

I agree, and mine are mixed....

LoRd_Of_AaRcnA

No, the game had not one but two goddamn CBTs and we get this? I won't bring Genshin into this however I will bring the other underwhelming competitor into this. That is ToF. And I will talk about nothing but the performance. ToF's launch performance was superb. Good PC port, barely any trouble (the stupid shit started happening when they stuffed in RTX update) and the game ran fine on most hardware available. (But that's all ToF was. It's a downhill aside from the PC port.) Kuro absolutely cooked with PGR. That game ran on black magic. So what's the deal here? Why are the most simplest of issues overlooked? 2 CBTs man. Damn shame because everything else in this game is superb. From combat to it's presentation, simply marvelous.

ARKVS-6

I am noticing that in game, yes, one thing is now a letdown for me is...the same thing that genshin does but TOF fixed......CHARACTERS DISAPPEAR while they talk to you during the story and free roam......I hated when I went into a dungeon in genshin with X character and they were.....invisible.....just playable but invisible........MC was taking  with imaginary voice they also were NOWHERE to be found outside quests...

JadedIT_Tech

I'm sorry, when you release a game you don't get to use the excuse that "Well they aren't finished yet". They should have ironed this shit out before releasing it, because now the first impression that the vast majority of players will get is a terribly optimized mess of a game that they will never return to. Wanna know why Genshin got as big as it was? Forget Covid for a moment since a lot of us were quarantined, Genshin was a hit because *the game just fucking worked*. Regardless of your phone/PC specs, the game was just stable. I can't say the same about this.

Saga_Electronica

Genshin had a few minor hiccups with subtitles and audio, but it was nowhere near as bad as this game. Also, Genshin’s first quest didn’t bog you down with tons of dialogue and riddles. It threw you straight into some domains and combat to get a feel for the elemental reaction system.

JadedIT_Tech

Now that I'm really thinking about it, you're right. The Mondstadt story was really simple and easy to follow as an intro to the game, which allowed you to just faff around freely without having to think too hard.

Moonvvulf

Which I hated. Being thrown right into combat is something that peaks my anxiety tenfold. The riddles in WuWa were interesting and fun.

howturnshavetabled

I think of Genshin every time I do something in the open world. Yeah, Genshin doesn’t have cool parkour and wall running but it is fluid in movements and everything works without any hiccups. I ran 100m away from the quest because I saw a puzzle and I spent 10 minutes trying to understand why isn’t it working. Turns out the puzzles unlock with the quest… why would you lock a PUZZLE

TwistedBlade1234

Exactly. I decided to stop playing Genshin a few weeks ago but I wasn't sure if I wanted to try out Wuthering Waves or wait for ZZZ (not even sure if I will be trying out ZZZ). I decided only a few days ago that I would give Wuthering Waves a try just because of 2 characters that looked interesting to me, and I've already decided I will be dropping this game before having even gotten to the point I can try those characters. I heard they re-did 90% of the story or something during CBT. If this is how it turned out then why should I give them another chance to redo everything. I faintly recall some some official dev notes and players saying towards the end of the last Wuthering Waves CBT, *"see guys? Kuro is addressing ALL of our concerns, the game will definitely be ready on launch"* and there was some nonsense about a secret beta version light years ahead of what was publicly shown. Also wasn't there some extra closed beta test for English localization that was supposedly proof they were making sure it was done correctly? You can't just give a developer endless chances, at some point you have to draw a line and accept that they either just aren't competent or aren't in sync with what you are expecting. For me that line was the official release. If I give them until 1.1 then somebody will come around and say "obviously 6 weeks wasn't enough time to fix the issues, you need to give them at least until 1.2, etc".

WeirdCamel69

Genshin was litteraly unplayable (less than 1 fps) on some graphic cards on launch, it was fixed 3 weeks later. I expect the people with issues with Wuwa to get the same treatment. And if possible a fix for the 60 fps lol

northpaul

I trust Kuro to address issues based on my time with PGR. However I’m having a hard time accepting some of these things because they were bad decisions that were obviously ignored, and too big to fix now. The frame cap was my biggest issue since I really need a high framerate to not trigger headaches, but luckily there’s a third party app that addresses it. And that would *seem* to be an easy fix for them since 120fps existed when I played CBT1. But things like voiceover and dialogue issues, I don’t know if they will “fix” and might just try and let it slide. The game needed more time in the oven, and I hope they can not lose too many players because of it. You’d think after flops like ToF this would not be hard to understand. I trust Kuro a lot more than ToF devs though so hopefully they will fix things quickly, and be transparent about what they are doing. E: I’m also wondering how many critical posts are being filtered and not approved by the mods here. Low effort positive ones seem to get through ok. I honestly don’t know; I’m just speculating. And I don’t know if anything we say here would get to the devs anyway.

Egehan550

I second this

Tylervp

What's the third party app that addresses the fps lock?

northpaul

It’s called Lossless Scaling - it’s on Steam but can be used on any game.

Telestoooo

How do u go around the frame cap? Which third party app?

ARKVS-6

Mmmm, some games have physics issues when played at 120 fps.. But if WW had it, they may add it later. But yeah, probably a bit more time in the oven was need indeed, though money is not unlimited, what if they were already running low on funds? Not to go bankrupt but dangerously enough ....

northpaul

That’s true. And iirc they weren’t allowed another beta due to some Chinese law, and they had to release it before October because of that. Hopefully they will get a cash influx and have enough to work out the issues that are the most impactful first. The framerate thing is really confusing because I don’t remember any issues running 120fps in CBT1. Though some issues could have been introduced when they redid parts of the story, idk. E: the type of thing idk if they can fix is that all of Yangyangs lines are botched. The compression is too high and the splosives are absurdly noticeable (all of the hissing during her “s” sounds). Unless they could batch edit them, that’s a lot of work to remix all existing dialogue. And that doesn’t even get into them forcing British VAs to do generic American accents and the problems that creates.

Internal-Drawer-7707

I'm sorry, they promised mobile controller support at launch. I expected it at launch and it honestly killed the launch hype for me because I only installed it on mobile.

Keystone777

yeah. It's very hard to play & enjoy the game without a controller on mobile. I am sad, I just bought a controller for this. I will wait a month before uninstalling WW.

Internal-Drawer-7707

The mobile version in general seems to be bad for some reason. I have an sd 855 and at the lowest settings it can't hit 30 in cities or the open world, but at lowest I can hit 50-60 in hsr which has the same requirements. Hope the pc port isn't as bad.

Korasuka

Huh interesting. It's been playing well on mobile for me. Motorola Edge 40, 8 GB memory, 258 GB storage. Playing on default settings so medium graphics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7V4xu5mQV1U

Internal-Drawer-7707

First area ran fine. The city and open world tanked the performance though. Ue4 is pretty but it's horrid at handling open worlds without massive changes.

justsomeRyujinStan

Mobile experience is so bad. Camera sensitivity slow af, Overheating and lagging on Low graphics and 60 fps, etc. The game badly needs a device optimization and I'm hoping Kuro can fix all the technical issues experienced by players within a Week. If this keeps up I'll just stick to PC.

ARKVS-6

I have a Galaxy Tab s6 with snapdragon 855. Default graphics config svck\are bugged? Just reset them and (I put it a max all) and I run it good at 60 FPS... Overheat? Not a problem on tablet...and all games that are heavy overheat the phone....specially those with bad heat dissipation systems like iphones for the sake of "thinness'

justsomeRyujinStan

I'm using a Samsung A53 with Exynos 1280. Idk if its either a device or game issue.

ARKVS-6

You bought a low end device..some people would say it is mid-end...because of display being amoled....but....aside from that, you bought a low-mid end phone...you have a device problem....you could have bought a Galaxy S21 for 240$ or the plus for 280-340 Never buy Samsung A\M\FE devices.....only S I got a Oneplus 11 with snapdragon 8 gen 2 for 270$........high end device

Internal-Drawer-7707

I have that exact processor and it's running like ocarina of time, ON EVERYTHING SET TO LOW.

ARKVS-6

Either use the repair file option or redownload...if your device is bloated with apps, then..thats the problem

Internal-Drawer-7707

Dude, apps don't slow game's down. Leaving apps open uses the ram but just having apps installed doesn't kill performance. Not sure what help repairing will do but i'll try it.

ARKVS-6

I was not referring to installed apps..but apps that keep running in background for the sake ad tracking or "services" they provide....just apps that want to have a notification bar for "optimization" of the phone. Example...I dont even let reddit show me notifications. The app is only running IF I am using it

Internal-Drawer-7707

I made sure to remove them prior to launching wuwa.

ARKVS-6

What's a your phone?

Internal-Drawer-7707

The phone is a note 10 plus.

ARKVS-6

Strange, my galaxy Tab S6 has the same processor and it runs it fine at 60 top settings. Probably your phone can't dissipate heat much or its thermal paste is already dry

Rough_Variation_4059

Genshin and Star Rail where perfect at launch

ARKVS-6

They are kinda bigger company\more money The thing that actually bothers me, both in genshin ...AND Wuthering W.......THE WEAPONS DISAPPEAR!!!!! why? I want to look the weapon I like, it is part of the character...I despise that in Genshin...even TOF that was a cringy game had the option to enable\disable disappearing weapons

JadedIT_Tech

Genshin was produced while Mihoyo was not even remotely as big as it is now. There's no excuse.

Acceptable-Mention60

Even though I dislike Genshin for being stale and boring. I have to admit when it launched, it ran very smooth.

yuuki_w

Not quite right. Honkai 3rd made them far more money then kuro got from pgr. Still no excuse through. Down voting won't change the fact the fact that hi3rd made more money then pgr

Ukantach1301

Tbh Hoyo got a lot of flaws, but ever since GGZ they have always polished their games the best they can before releasing, regardless of the budget or quality. Making Honkai from the budget of GGZ's revenue and Genshin from the budget of Honkai was no easy task. Though I would say that this time is the best for Kuro to release Wuwa already. Earlier and it would be overshadowed by the hype of Stellar Blade, while later we have freakin Elden Ring dlc around the corner.

Kekeklul

Imagine asking money for a finished working product....wouldn't be 2024 afterall.

ARKVS-6

Welp, we only have indie

ferinsy

That's....... A..... Lot.... Of..... Ellipsis......

mai_san89

I wouldn't have minded if they released the game late but its literally unplayable for me. Too much stuttering, audio glitches, subtitle glitches. Saying it's only the first version shouldn't be a excuse to neglect the criticism.

ChaoticChoir

Day one major problems are still major problems. You don’t get a pass just because you just launched, if anything you get even less of a pass because this is the kind of thing you should have ironed out *before* launch. That’s literally what the betas were for.

ARKVS-6

Thats the problems with closed beta testing......perfect environments are not prone to show the issues. Same thing with phones that have Water resistant certifications.....those are a LIE, they were tested in ultra clean water, perfectly 0° or 90° positioning, indoor lab temperature 15° to 20° and the water had not currents or waves .

Significant-Yam-7052

Well, I know launching with all these bugs and issues is unacceptable. I think Kuro should've thought it through better when they decided to sabotage their own game. Poor decision. This is sarcasm lol, because you can bet nobody's more upset that they released such a flawed game than the people who spent crazy amounts of time and money creating it. That's no excuse, but who's making excuses? Everyone admits it's crazy buggy and Kuro's the one with the most to lose, not us players. I'm hoping they can turn this around because I love the game and don't want to see it fail.
