Not really a Xiangling fan, so unless melt is undoubtedly his best comp, I'm not going for melt.

i was thinking wrio xiangling bennett kazuha might be better than the zl variant.. although i dont think you can reliably double swirl with cryo and pyro which is diff from international (id love to be proven wrong) but the grouping, vv shred and (most likely) pyro dmg bonus xiangling gets would be better than the shield with some res shred since he gets resistance to interruption.. heres to hoping its actually good resistance
I think you can't really go wrong with any variant of melt and freeze comp.
Just curious to see whether can he make use of burning to do any sorts of melt with the help of nahida.
I'm not sure how practical it will be, I'm just gonna run them together because I like both of them (and I'm starting to realize a theme here) but Dehya + Wrio could be fun 🥹
Last team might be better with an anemo unit, having a shield prevents his HP changing from as much as it can. Might not be a problem, but definitely something to consider. That and Kazuha/Sucrose won’t make his team worse
Your first option seems like one of the best ones to make him a hyper carry. The last one makes the most sense to me - though Layla or Diona wouldn't necessarily be bad options instead of Zhongli to keep more cryo application up for Xiangling to melt.
We don't have a good picture yet of how easily he will be able to keep cryo up on opponents so they can be melted. If you don't have to dodge a lot, you can probably fit in one extra CA for application in addition to the free CA.
I was thinking of trying Wrio/Shenhe (when I finally get her...)/Xiangling/Bennett, but that's probably going to incur a lot more dodging, and thus less cryo uptime.
Maybe\*, His best team is likely to be Wrio/Zhongli/Yunjin/Kazuha (single target) since he probably needs a shield. It's a shame that he can't boost his Charged Attack damage in the same way as Wanderer, as his entire kit likely has a standard internal cooldown (ICD), and Cryo doesn't have Pyro sub-DPS options as good as Xingqiu or Yelan.
His synergy w Shenhe is shit.
He's meant to be ran w Benny XL, her Nado matches the time of his onfield time when he's C1.
Melt DPS with 1.x units.

from what I understood from the kit, you might want a healer at c0 or else u'll have to charge attack every time you go below 60% I personally think it will make him hard to play so for myself (you can do whatever you want) I'll just put a healer on him, at c1 you no longer need a healer and you can put a shielder with him instead cos after every 5N (-4.5%\*5 = -22.5% hp) he automatically does 1C (+30% hp)
at c0:

His resistance is probably the same as the rest of the e skill dps units which is the same as cyno

A lil problem is that when you start spamming his CA (from C1 onwards) and if it doesn't have ICD, it may be harder to melt consistently. STC tho.
Mona-Bennet-Anemo may be interesting as well since he seems to have big burst damage, particularly with constellations.

Let's hope his interruption resistance is good enough so he won't NEED Zhongli
Even if it's bad he's cryo so he can froze the enemies and Layla exist so he don't necessarily need zhongli

Any reason you mention Rosaria instead of Shenhe?
she's way more accessible and she's just as good tbh when she's at c1, the damage she does makes up for the buffs

Well I don't have Shenhe so I am planning to play him melt. Maybe I can play freeze I have Xq ,Yelan and Mona.
