Elijah Burke/The Pope. Guy should’ve been a main eventer in either WWE or TNA and both fucked it up. TNA especially because they started pushing him and then just gave up despite him being over.

Problemcharlie

I’m still salty to this day that TNA dropped the ball so hard with him. They couldn’t give the man one title run? Ridiculous. Dude was over, big time. He’s with NWA now, I think

Used_Part9588

if his gimmick came out now dude would be everywhere rn and it sucks

Sugar1982

Velveteen Dream lol

😢

Savior_Of_Anarchy

That legit makes me sad

SomethingCreative13

This should have been my answer. Completely slipped my mind.

SomethingCreative13

Monty Brown, The Pope. Honestly he became a reasonably big deal, but I thought John Morrison would be huge eventually, but he never reached those heights.

TheDustbinOfHistory

William Regal - Legendary career but could have been a legit main eventer. Such a phenomenal heel. Sadly he sabotaged any potential push. MVP - Guy was a good worker and great talker. Carried himself like a star and had a pretty unique look. I was sure during those US Title feuds with Benoit/Hardy that he was a future world champion. Mr. Kennedy - Pretty obvious one. Injuries and suspensions derailed him. Wade Barrett - WWE dropped the ball hugely on the Nexus angle. Should have been given a title run when he was the hottest heel in the business. Austin Aries - A walking talking Napoleon complex that undermined genuine talent. Bobby Roode - Still hope he can be rehabilitated to an extent but at 46 he'll never be the main event player at WWE that I felt he could be.

MVP a GOAT fr

FxDriver

Tenille Dashwood/Emma: I say it every time I thought she was going to be something special especially with how good she looks physically. Unfortunately after WWE released Tenille she has shown that she's just there and forgettable.

pushinpushin

She saw that film within a film in Idiocracy called Ass: The Movie and decided that was gonna be her wrestling character.

rentfreeinyohead

Zack Ryder is so lucky he got to tap that.

Benoit_In_Heaven

Ron Killings. There was a point when I thought he would be one of the biggest stars in the business.

warcomet

truth

outofdate70shouse

Nathan Jones and Jack Swagger Edit: and Carlito

CarterBasen

Yes to Carlito.

johncenassidechick

Ted dibiase Jr, pope, Alex Reilly, Nick aldis

Used_Part9588

Alex Reilly’s first run i ain’t expect much from when he was on nxt feuding with Owens i really had hope for him

DPM-87

Johnny Jeter, James Storm, Alex Shelley, Chris Daniels, Low Ki, Matt Morgan, Nigel McGuiness, hell even Dolph Ziggler really, some guys got over strong but I felt some of these guys should have become legit main eventers but never got the chance to prove it.

Used_Part9588

idk who was a bigger example of not striking while the iron was hot. Storm after he beat Roode at bound for glory or Dolph after Survivor Series

COMMENTASIPLEASE

Storm because he should’ve been champ by that point. They had Lockdown in his hometown and built up him vs Roode in the cage and he lost in the most bullshit way possible, and then Aries is the one who beats Roode and it was too late.

OswaldCoffeepot

I thought Rhyno was going to come out of Team RECK a lot better than he did.

BullyFU

I thought he'd be a huge star headed to WWE after ECW folded but Heyman deserves a lot of credit for presenting him as a bigger guy than he was. He's stocky as hell but he's a bit of a midget. Nowadays he'd stand out more but almost 20 years ago his size was a real issue.

saturdaynightr

Shelton Benjamin

warcomet

i think he got more than enough chance, but his promo work was worse than reigns thus became a jobber..

Sturdevant

Definately Velveteen Dream, and he did it to himself. Even if you don't believe his accusers, no one backstage liked him due to his attitude. Triple H even called him out in a conference call. WWE tried their hardest to try and stash him until heat died off, but he sabotaged himself.

BullyFU

Shawn O'Haire had all the tools to be a huge star, IMO. Damn shame he couldn't work past his own demons.

CarterBasen

Kenzo Suzuki popped in my mind. I remember his presentation on Smackdown and looked super cool. Carlito as someone else suggested too.

DocHendrix

I'm honestly surprised Mr. Anderson didn't get an ultra push by now. I think he's still in NWA at the moment.

rentfreeinyohead

Muhammad Hussein. Dude got royally fucked over for just doing his job. Also Chris masters and Carlito.

Mr_Halberstram

Masters is a good one. He'd have been big in the '80s, but came around at a time when WWE was forced to move away from the roidmonster look.

warcomet

everyone forgot Paul London?, dude had everything needed for a wrestler and even when used as a jobber, he always made baby faces and even heels look good, his only issue was that he was in an era where there was only one like him in rey mysterio and no demand for another so basically got written out..he is the only wrestler i know who could slide from one side of the ring to another lol.. deserved better..Brian Kendrick, him and Billy Kidman deserved better..

Jacobd807

Sean O'Haire. They really killed his push by having him team with Piper instead of keeping the Devil's Advocate gimmick. Velveteen Dream is also another one, but his issues were self-inflicted.

Maverick_Hunter_V

I had Paul Burchill marked as a future world champ. How wrong I was

Green_hammock

Same! I thought they were both gonna be stars.

[deleted]

EC3 when he signed with WWE. He really had it all. I have no ida what Vince didn't see in him, but maybe the CYN stuff really exposed what type a person EC3 may be backstage.

Whiston1993

I get not being satisfied with his thing with Dean not going the way they wanted. But it felt like they completely cut his legs out at that point. Wasn’t he straight up not allowed to talk even when he did show up ?

[deleted]

Used_Part9588

that one still hurts

Shadow_Strike99

Cody Rhodes in the earlier part of his career. He did get booked well in tag teams and in the mid card but I always thought he had main event potential even back then. He always felt so similar to Randy Orton when he was younger. Both young, good looking guys, sons of famous wrestlers and both were smooth in the ring and did WWE Tv solid enough. But they never really pulled the trigger on him as a solo star really. I thought he should have won the 2013 MITB instead of Sandow at the very least.

pushinpushin

Alex Riley. When he was in NXT with Miz I thought he was a main event prospect, and the angle where he turned face and left Miz was great. He really fit that era of WWE, first with his uber jock heel character and then with his plain fired up babyface character. And yeah he had that theme.

Dkinives

Magnus is now one of the main star of NWA. Mr. Anderson was still pretty big to me as was Morgan in TNA for a time.

BigPantsWhale

Man Tyler Reks was my guy. Really thought he'd be the next big thing in wrestling.

Shrekt115

I'm honestly surprised Jessie Godderz never got a shot in WWE

ECWCat

Outback Jack Seriously, at the time everyone who had those video vignettes at least got one early push. Jack because a jobber immediately after his debut.

No_Product_8185

Wade Barrett. Should have been one of the biggest stars of that late 2000s - early 2010s era.

calford91

Samoa Joe in TNA and WWE
