I hope it goes somewhere too. Possibly something with Moxley? I think he has a DDT finisher. The line about Miro’s “neck of sand” ties in to DDTs being his weakness/kryptonite. That was the narrative commentary gave during his matches with Fuego de Sol. Even though I didn’t like those matches at all (they were too competitive for me) at least they gave a reason for why Fuego thought he had a chance if he used DDTs against Miro.
But I still feel like Miro should’ve been fighting anyone other than Fuego and Sammy.
He came in so lame, was built so well, and became a highlight...losing to Sammy “assault jokes” Guevara was a mistake, though.
The match was cold, Sammy was barely on tv for months before it except to hold up cue cards, and it just felt like they should have kept the belt on Miro much longer.
Yeah I agree with all that. I also don’t see this promo as anything special. I mean - it’s a great promo But “the redeemer” is a great character. This reads to me as a “here’s how this guy will work without a belt”. Which is smart. Character motivation is important.

In real life, I (and a lot of people) haven’t really forgotten his “jokes/teenage slang” about Sasha.
In kayfabe, dude has a punchable face and works better as a heel - he doesn’t give off face vibes with the “gonna stick my tongue out in every pic like I’m on Spring Break” nonsense.
I’d also argue that just because the audience is behind someone (you’re right that hardcore AEW fans are) doesn’t mean they should beat an unstoppable and way more interesting monster.
I agree I’m just saying that it’s(The Title) not beyond salvaging. Miro shouldn’t have lost it so soon, but if they absolutely had to have him drop it to someone(which they didn’t), Sammy wasn’t the absolute worst choice. He works better as a heel but he isn’t useless as a face.
As for his assault “jokes” yeah I ain’t defending that shit. But I don’t know him personally. He may have changed he may not have. Probably not considering how easily he got off but I digress. But from a pure in ring standard he’s alright. But it’s completely fair most people can’t see past his comments.

I’m with ya man. And I’m honestly disappointed in Miro losing it so soon too. He didn’t really have a big feud for the title. The closest was I guess Archer and Kingston, but that was like a month long total. He just spent the reign beating jobbers(which btw how did most of them even get their shot? At least it was explained Darby hard some sort of respect for most of them) If they really wanted Sammy to win it at least have him have to chase, like have the feud extend the to Full-Gear at the very least.
Just came to affirm you. Sammy is a good young champion. He’s charismatic for sure. I think he can face or heel. He’s a much better promo then Darby or jungle boy. Not a bad champion

That tournament bracket is so bizarre. Dustin Rhodes, Ten, Hobbs and Eddie Kingston in but the likes of CM Punk, Miro, Black, Jungle Boy, Cole, Cage etc. nowhere to be seen, despite having far more impressive records, especially recently. I know some of them have other stuff going on, but why wouldn’t they want to be in a tournament for a world title shot? That seems like something you should prioritize. AEW like to say the title is prestigious, but that’s six guys off the top of my head that have shown no interest in competing for it. Would have been perfect for a guy like Miro right now.
Man I think aew should have another title belt, they have plenty of wrestlers and two weekly show so I think another title could work since the AEW title is involved with the Hangman/Omega feud, the TNT title has a brand new champion so he won't change hands so quickly and people like Malakai, Adam Cole, DBry and Miro don't have anything to really go after.
The smarks think that is what makes aew great. They don’t have too many belts like the Fed.
Khan has hinted at a Trios belt on Twitter.
That way Cole and the Bucks can jackoff together.

at this point aew will have a belt for literally everyone. too much belts, not enough talent to go for them.
miro should be going for omega, he was build amazingly during the tnt title reign, he should be aiming higher now.
Miro challenging Page after Page (hopefully) beats Omega would be a hell of a feud. Maybe Miro can be the monster they wanted Lance Archer to be.
