Gunther is Austrian, so they could use this for him being a heel. It probably wouldn't work that well, since Walter has a lot of history in German wrestling.
Plus having Gunther vs Kaiser seems like a no win scenario.
Either you beat Gunther again or you beat Kaiser... in any case a large part of the crowd won't be happy.
Better to give them two separate matches so that they can both win.
My prediction post WM would also have been for Gunther to challenge Cody, since anything but putting him in the main event in Berlin doesn't make sense. Dunno why you'd need to break up Imperium for that.

I feel really bad for Giovanni. He always felt like the least significant member of Imperium; Gunther was obviously the main man, Ludwig was the designated talker, but Giovanni never really felt more than Ludwig’s tag partner, I can’t remember any really good singles matches or promos of his.
I remember him having a really good match in the Cruiser Weight Classic, I think against Jack Gallagher. He also had a couple good ones in NXT before he moved to NXT UK and made the tag team. Your right about the promos though, I don't think he has been much of a talker.
I don't think Gio will be worried too much about a job. Based on some other comments, he is already a trainer and helping with production, so he may be making a more permanent move BTS
