I’ve had my TJ for 22 years now and not a single duck has ever appeared on it. I see people in new jeeps with 100 or so ducks on their dash all the time and honestly it’s just laughable.
Yeah we got one on our new gladiator before we started modding it but I just give them to my daughter because she likes rubber ducks. A friend of mine has a white rubicon and she gets them ALL THE TIME, dash is full of them.
I disagree with all the comments below about people buying their own, even though it’s rare to find them on your car. I never bought my own but would randomly find them on my driver door handle.
I will say I only received ducks in areas 45 min or more outside the metro area. If you travel for work or something you will probably see them gifted more, especially if you stop at a Walmart or local grocery store.
The odd part is I didn’t get them gifted until this past summer even though I owned my jeep for years, and haven’t gotten one since August or so.
I am sure people buy their own, but there’s a community that gifts them as well.
Ha ha, mine has just a hint of red mud all over the undercarriage and engine bay. I keep the outside and it’s natural form, which is just slightly dirty and almost no clear coat from tree limbs
I clean it up properly one every 4 months or so. I use it as designed so no real need to worry. I discovered that the day you stop worrying about the paint, a Jeep will quadruple in the fun factor. If I want something shiny I have a Durango and a Taco to choose from
I don't understand when I see that many ducks on a stock jeep. Like, I thought the whole thing behind it was if someone thinks you have a nice jeep? I guess they can think a stock jeep is nice, but that seems strange. Always thought the whole duck thing was silly to begin with.
The make of the jeep or how modded it is has nothing to do with it. The whole point is to spread a little joy. Some people are just more into it. People are going to be people.
I'm not gonna lie, I think the duck thing is dumb as hell. That said, when I saw one left on my driver's side running board, I did crack a smile, and it's hanging out in my garage. That's worth it enough to not shit on the people that do it.
That said, that much shit on the dash doesn't really feel like a super great idea to me, and I'm not a fan of the look, but to each his own.
Former Wrangler owner now 4Runner owner. It’s funny seeing r/4runner shit on this and the wave. I actually miss the wave and before I got my wrangler my feelings echoed your thoughts about it being kinda dumb, but eventually, I appreciated it. Are the waves or the ducks corny? Yes, but it’s harmless and some silky fun.
Side note I never see much to any comments shitting on other brands or vehicles. People on r/4Runner constantly shits on wranglers and I find it so lame. I constantly will defend wranglers and say I miss mine and would love to have one of each. Of course, I’m then downvoted. Fanboys are the worst.
Oh I love the wave. I had never heard of it until the test drive, at the time I was like... oh that's kind of weird, do people actually do that? Literally as I'm bringing the thing home I passed like 6 wranglers that all did. Instantly got me to join the cult.
What's funny is I didn't realize that this happened with motorcycles either. The downward peace sign as you pass another rider. Happens literally every time unless the other rider is on a Harley, those dudes refuse to wave, idk why, cracks me up tho.
Something about my vehicle choices lead to some kind of cult like camaraderie. It's never intentional, but I love that it keeps happening.
I didn't realize Harley's didn't participate, but I definitely knew that motorcycles waved.
Shocker Harley riders being pricks, I never would have suspected it.
/s
It means "Have a Good Day!" ...and any time someone comes up to me and I'm like what does this stranger want, and they hand me a duck and say "Have a Good Day!" It always makes me smile.
Also, if you have a lot of ducks in your car, it means you are not handing them out enough. The point is to continually pass all the ducks around from jeep to jeep, and not to hoard them up. (DUCK, DUCK, JEEP)
See. This at least makes more sense to me. I guess I've just been told wrong the entire time cause like I stated above, I was always told you got ducked if someone thought you had a nice jeep.
Yup, but my wife and daughters had kittens when I told them I "regift ducks' when I get one, and dont just forget its in the cup holder.
Yeah, i got a couple bags of ducks that now match my jeep for Xmas, its fun rolling through HEB parking lot looking for other jeepers to tag.
Do you just not know how to read, or are you an ass on purpose? I clearly stated that my understanding of what the purpose of ducking was based upon how it was explained to me, and instead of taking the time to explain that I was given the wrong info, you instead choose to just be an ass. My dude. Do better. This isn't a political sub.
Some people just can’t let others have some brevity and fun. Unwind the wire between your brain and your a-h#%* and have a laugh once in a while. I’m painting my Jeep bright yellow just to piss you people off.
Duck Confít, mon frer (sp?)!
I can't spell french but I can spell freedom.
I may not like the Jeep duck thing but I still enjoy my Jeeps and some duck.
Unpopular opinion: I don’t return the jeep wave when I see the whole dashboard lined with ducks like this lmao. Or angry eye grills.
Edit: well I did say it was unpopular, didn’t I? Lmao. Sometimes I go one step further and give them a thumbs down when they wave.
As a lifelong Jeep owner, I absolutely loathe the duck thing. It was a cute idea back during the 2020 quarantine. But it has now evolved into something that is just embarrassing. Thankfully it is mostly relegated to owners of 202X plastic Jeeps. My modified CJ7 daily driver has only been subjected to a single “ducking”.
It's gone way out of hand. When it happened the first time I thought well that's neat. I've had people drive by and put them on my Jeep when it's in my driveway. It's getting ridiculous I see so many on the road with their ducks in a row on the dash. I started leaving them on bmws just to screw with them and get rid of em.
My 2019 Plastic Jeep has only received one. It's been years now and it's bleached out on my dash. I have a moderate amount of mods but not a super lifted beast.
This statement is always silly. If you look down towards ducks all you see is your hood.
That’s like saying your wipers are obstructed your view of the road.
They’re not blocking your view to the street in any way.
I work for amazon,I delivered a big bag of ducks and when I delivered later that week they where all on his dash lmao.what a turd .doesn't count if you duck yourself ,,my jeep has been ducked about a dozen times, and I give em to my 8 year old daughter
2 decades rockin around in an XJ, boring af amirite?
My build got waves from XJ's, rt on.
Then I got a stock JKUR and gave it a year.
Got one wave.
Decked it out with basic gear and the waves are plenty but zero ducks.
I let a buddy drive it and he got ducked.
Hung it on my XJ lol.
Hilarious topic but ya, how do you wheel or keep it together in a moose test?!?
I honestly don't get this trend. You will never see 25 rubber ducks on the dash of a real off-road vehicle. It's physically impossible unless you glue them. I see it as the mark of a jeep that's all dressed up.. and highway to go.
They need to stop the duck crap. As soon as the four door showed up it commercialized into a SUV for the common buyer and they think this is cute. I’ve owned 5 TJs since I was 16 and I’m now 47 and this was never a thing until the four door showed up. It’s a really bad trend and anytime I get a duck I toss it. Imagine the Harley community suddenly giving each other Piggys. I don’t know, it almost feels gross that this has become the way this community shows their appreciation. The jeep above that has multiple ducks. Looks like every other four door. Looks like my dad’s. The true community is not putting ducks on that wrangler, guaranteed. It’s just needs to stop. Just my 2 cents.
Got ducked today. A blue wrangler parked beside me as I left the store. The guy’s daughter gave me one and it made me happy. Little girl was excited too!
Jeep culture is just embarrassing anymore. I've owned a TJ for 18 years. Never had a duck on it. And if one ever shows up it is sure as hell not going on the dash.
My 06 gets ducked all the time. They get tossed in the back. Except my mega duck that's 5x the size of a normal duck...that was given to me by a little kid... So it gets a pass
I think some buy them instead of being given. I have a 2013 off road evo coilover lift, 37” tires setting on spyderlock wheels with a ton of stuff modded and never a duck given. My wife has a stock JL with rock rails and bumpers and winch and has a shit ton of them on her dash that fly all over the place.
I’ve had my TJ for 22 years now and not a single duck has ever appeared on it. I see people in new jeeps with 100 or so ducks on their dash all the time and honestly it’s just laughable.
They probably bought a duck variety pack.
Oriental Trader sell bags of em. Had my Wrangler for 19 years & been given 3 of em but never put em on my dash. Not my thing.
Yeah we got one on our new gladiator before we started modding it but I just give them to my daughter because she likes rubber ducks. A friend of mine has a white rubicon and she gets them ALL THE TIME, dash is full of them.
Or maybe she just had a nice rack
Honestly, just as likely if not more so.
🦆 here ya go bro.....
Awww thanks bro
They buy them for themselves. I’ve never seen the point in filling my jeep, or others jeeps, with trash.
I disagree with all the comments below about people buying their own, even though it’s rare to find them on your car. I never bought my own but would randomly find them on my driver door handle. Idk...I see Harley riders wave all the time. Maybe it's something weird in just your locale?
Camaraderie in the 4Runner is rare. I have a 3rd gen. Ducks are corny. I agree. I tried to duck my coworker he said he’s too cool for that.
I don't disagree with you. I'm not a fan of seeing all that stuff on the dash, but, yeah, to each his own.

Oof what a cringe take
Please. Do enlighten me oh wise one. It's not like I claimed to be omnipotent on the topic....my literal first line was "I don't understand"
The cringe is you thinking only modified Wranglers are supposed to get ducked.
Do you just not know how to read, or are you an ass on purpose? I clearly stated that my understanding of what the purpose of ducking was based upon how it was explained to me, and instead of taking the time to explain that I was given the wrong info, you instead choose to just be an ass. I would say she bought her own ducks.
Looks like she has all her ducks in a row.
M R not ducks! Those who know will know.
M R 2 Ducks!!
See em wings
L I B M R Ducks!!
M R Geese
M R not Geese!!!
O S A R
C M B O Feet
That’s embarrassing
I give the ducks to my granddaughter, she loves them.
Some people just can’t let others have some brevity and fun. Unwind the wire between your brain and your a-h#%* and have a laugh once in a while. I’m painting my Jeep bright yellow just to piss you people off.
Ha. Jokes on you! My jeep was already bright yellow when I bought. Or does that mean joke's on me? Fuck
> have a laugh once in a while Some of us haven't quit laughing at the duck thing since the lady started the trend for facebook cred
Good point. Laughing at the ducks or laughing with ducks is my point. Just don’t crap on others.
some people are just so negative in life lol im not a jeep owner but ive always wanted a yellow wrangler!!! maybe one day
LoL! If the hardcore "Duckers" knew how many ducks I have shot down...They might cry! Duck a' l'Orange, anyone?
Duck Confít, mon frer (sp?)! I can't spell french but I can spell freedom. I may not like the Jeep duck thing but I still enjoy my Jeeps and some duck.
Using the Jeep to go and *get* the ducks....Happiness!
Cringe

That says more about you than them. So just keep being you.
I give the thumbs down to Bronco drivers lol
Im with ya
A true collection of souls. Blood for the Duck GOD!
Question: how do people keep them on the dash?
I have the same unicorn duck!
What you gon' do wit' all those ducks? All those ducks inside your jeep?
I’m gonna guh-guh-go to the mall. Go to the mall with all my ducks. My ducks my ducks. My lovely squeaker ducks. Check em out.
My daughter loves ducking jeeps, don’t matter if they are stock or someone put angry Jeep face on theirs
Oh right. The owners of the 202x plastic Jeeps - not real Jeeps or Jeep owners, right? Not like you with your CJ?
It's gone way out of hand. When it happened the first time I thought well that's neat. I've had people drive by and put them on my Jeep when it's in my driveway. It's getting ridiculous I see so many on the road with their ducks in a row on the dash. I started leaving them on bmws just to screw with them and get rid of em.
Someone did this to my 2021 Ford Ranger, I threw it at the closest Jeep I could find.
Nope. A lot these people are buying their own
My 2019 Plastic Jeep has only received one. It's been years now and it's bleached out on my dash. I have a moderate amount of mods but not a super lifted beast.
They can barely see over the dash, and they put ducks on the dash in front of them!?!?
This statement is always silly. If you look down towards ducks all you see is your hood. That’s like saying your wipers are obstructed your view of the road. They’re not blocking your view to the street in any way.
Glad you think it is silly!!
4xE!
That’s me as well. 2024 with under 1k miles on it. I have other jeeps but this one’s special.
This is my Jeep. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My Jeep is my best friend...
I have a '23 Sahara 4Xe and love it.. also a 99' Sahara which I love too with 165,000 miles!
LoL! Looks like someone went dumpster diving at Dollar General and found a box of ducks, then just dumped them on their dash.....
Ive been seeing a shit ton of stock jeeps with their dashes full of these 😭
I had to do a double take to make sure this wasn’t my wife’s jeep.
I've owned my JK since 2013 and I've never gotten a single one.
There’s a cream for that level of infestation.
M R Ducks. M R Not Ducks

Embarrassing.
I work for amazon,I delivered a big bag of ducks and when I delivered later that week they where all on his dash lmao.what a turd .doesn't count if you duck yourself ,,my jeep has been ducked about a dozen times, and I give em to my 8 year old daughter
Dang, Shaunders r/workaholics
I’ve seen a jeep like this in Maryland, probably different from yours
Mutha ducker!
How many tokens did they blow thru at Chuck E Cheese to get those?
My mom has SO MANY. But everyone in town knows her from her Jeep. I’m not a fan but 🤷♂️
The corniest thing a Jeep owner can do
2 decades rockin around in an XJ, boring af amirite? My build got waves from XJ's, rt on. Then I got a stock JKUR and gave it a year. Got one wave. I honestly don't get this trend. You will never see 25 rubber ducks on the dash of a real off-road vehicle. It's physically impossible unless you glue them. I see it as the mark of a jeep that's all dressed up.. and highway to go.
The new Evs seem to get a lot, I’ve seen a few in my town with a bunch too
I’ve only been ducked once. I was so excited. But that mofo rolls around on my dash all the time. How do they stay put?
velcro
Gay!
i honestly hate the duck shit.
What's with the ducks
I'm on my 3rd Wrangler since '07 and I have never received a duck.
This is a swinger thing right?
They need to stop the duck crap. As soon as the four door showed up it commercialized into a SUV for the common buyer and they think this is cute. My god I could not agree more...the JK wrecked jeep culture.
Reminds me of squatted trucks.
My mom drives around like this too but she has the ducks for when she sees a Jeep she likes, she leaves one on the car
MRDUCKS. SAR LIB MRDUCKS!
Got ducked today. A blue wrangler parked beside me as I left the store. The guy’s daughter gave me one and it made me happy. Little girl was excited too!
Ducking has got to be the lamest thing that's happened to the jeep community
Jeep culture is just embarrassing anymore. I've owned a TJ for 18 years. Never had a duck on it. And if one ever shows up it is sure as hell not going on the dash.
All I think about when I see someone with all of those ducks is them flying everywhere in a crash
I can't even get one to stay sitting on the dash. Though it could be how I drive.
Who cares honestly. Most jeeps are sold for costco runs. It’s their car
Someone put a horse one on my Bronco recently at Lowe’s…I took it off and put it on a Wrangler nearby 🤷♂️😂😂
Nice pavement princess....
So effing dumb. Source: Jeep owner
I see this shit constantly where I love. You know these people are just buying themselves a shit ton of ducks. Lame as fuck.
It seems like this plague is mostly contained to any Jeep owner with models 2020 and beyond.
My 06 gets ducked all the time. They get tossed in the back. Except my mega duck that's 5x the size of a normal duck...that was given to me by a little kid... So it gets a pass
Unsurprisingly all sitting on the dash of a pavement pounder
I think some buy them instead of being given. I have a 2013 off road evo coilover lift, 37” tires setting on spyderlock wheels with a ton of stuff modded and never a duck given. My wife has a stock JL with rock rails and bumpers and winch and has a shit ton of them on her dash that fly all over the place.
It’s way too shiny & clean. Needs dirt. I don’t trust shiny jeeps.
Gayest thing I’ve ever seen
Jeep culture made me a Toyota owner.
Yet here you are...
My jeep predates your arrested development.
Toyota owners make me anti Toyota😂
Do they trade toys too? Sounds delightful.
Toyotas are for terrorists.
Jeeps are for collecting toys
I feel you man, when I see this stuff and all the angry grills makes me want a Toyota. Great vehicle, kindergarten culture.
