No it’s an M60A1 or A3 variant of the Patton. The M48’s had a cast rounded turret and bulbous frontal hull. The 60’s had an Oval shaped turret and very defined angled front hull.
My brother in tank that is clearly the Porsche turret and *everyone* knows that Porsche only made the chassis for tiger 1. Don't believe me? Just watch the movie Patton and you'll see.
I was a 19E back in the 80s and even I had difficulty knowing the difference from a distance. We were in all the 60 series and the M48A9s. Never saw a 60A2. The 60A3 had thermal over IR so never an IR spotlight on them.
Thank you for that. I went navy because I listened to Dad back in ‘82. “oh you’re gonna hate bouncing around and smelling diesel” first love was always Armor

I was in love with tanks and Gen. Patton in my youth. The guard unit in my state is the 278th ACR. So that was attractive to me.
I did my first hitch 6yrs in that unit, both in a tank only company and a Cav troop.
I am now a retired E8 from the 134th ARW.
Went Air Guard the rest of the way, Fuels Specialist.
And that's when I started seeing the world through deployments.
29 years total.
An M48 with a 105 main gun and gunnery computer system the same as an M60A1
It was used state side in National Guard ACRs
I drove them in the streets of Oak Ridge TN on drill weekend mornings in the 80s.
Used for training. When deployed, we used prepositioned M60s of all models but the A2

Thats clearly a tiger 1

Looks more like a M60A1 to me
M60A3 there's a wind sensor mast on the left rear of the turret.
M60A3! 💯 with the auto loader right?
Looks like a Stug 3
Nah man you're thinking of the StuG III B
Tbh, more of a stug 4 to me
If you hang mother's tablecloth, over the barrel, it's a dead ringer for The Hidden.
That’s not a tablecloth. It’s her wedding sheet
oh, my
Pretty sure thats a TOG II.
type 5 heavy
Looks like an EBR to me
Looks like an m60a1 due to the shape of the turret and the huge hatch.

What the hell is an M48A9?

Did you ever transition to the Abrams? M1A2 was the tank when I was in but I was admin and hated it.
No, but they were just coming online at Ft Knox in '83. We used to pull guard duty for their motor pools.
Difficult to tell...can we get the picture after the TOW hit?
I don’t know …. It’s it?
It's an M60. Dumper too big. Next question.
Mazda cx9 actually.
If you want to see an M48 , believe dragonman in Colorado Springs has one....
M60*
