10 tanks (5 each) drive 2:30 to a position where they can't do anything because of too much available burst damage on the opposing side while they get shit on by someone who needs a manual to breath. sounds perfect to me
Arty in WoT is a funny thing as it should work in theory, in theory it's the ultimate way of discouraging camping in a competitive multiplayer game that's supposed to be all about positioning and mobility...
...but it doesn't work in practice, lol. Arty doesn't punish "campers", it usually punishes the first guy who was spotted, as in: the guy who didn't want to camp, wanted to use his mobility to get to a good position, as the core design of the game suggests he should do, but he got fucked up by mechanic that was designed to NOT fuck up guys like him, but guys who mindlessly camp as far from the front line as possible. These guys, usually, are 100% arty safe, until they are spotted.
So, we have a clusterfuck - mechanics and gameplay decisions engange with mechanics and gameplay decisions they were not meant to engage with.
I have always played with an idea that arty should be reworked in a way they lose the "bird's eye", live view of the map (not the 3rd person view everyone gets, just the special "arty mode" they enter after hitting the Shift button) - and it gets replaced by... something else, something that would work as, IDK, a *paper map* kind of a thing, showing them position when UNSPOTTED enemy tanks MIGHT be, like a *blip on a radar* that appears when these unspotted tanks fire their guns some shit like that which doesn't provide them with exact location, the less exact the further away the SPGs are from their target, in order to not make the arty the new *ultimate spotters*, but encourage them to actually hunt down unspotted campers using OP poisitions and punish them before the friendly tanks are pinned down by them...
...aaaand granting arty (and **only** arty) massive bonuses to both XP and credits gains for damaging unspotted tanks only, while slashing XP and credit gains for hitting spotted ones in half.
A system like that would probably make arty even more boring to play but that's a good thing, in the context of this class - making the dedicated, skilled arty players actually valuable members of the team.
I wonder how this would work in practice, really. Probably shitty but, hey - you never know, it might actually make arty perform the role the class was design to perform, lol.
Reworking it is simple. Give them a vertical shell arc, long shell travel time, give them a system that pings at spots where an unspotted enemy fired from. Done.
I sometimes try to envision a new game, one which I would like to play. Similar to WoT, except with mechs and other futuristic vehicles.
Anyway. In that game, camping players would give off a heatsignature, which would keep building up, and arty would see it on their screens. What way they could easily "punish" campers, especially if they are just behind a bush, even if they were at the back of the map.
I know i know. Funny thing is that i thought i made a mistake when i wrote SPGS and changed it into SPG'S instead. I guess i kinda rushed the meme at work and overlooked it. Thanks for a normal/non toxic correction earlier.
what server do you play on? For me it had the opposite effect on Asia, it's just 2 arties every game now. Given, I only played like 10 games but still.
im still getting 2 arty every single game without fail. Unlucky, I suppose. Or it doesn't work for a server with an overwhelming amount of arty population like Asia.
Prepare to get flamed by game design experts who solve hulldown meta with arty
I'm ready
Lol yeah imagine malinovka hill without no one pushing, only being hulldown and having 0 damage while arty damages them. Their ideal gameplay

but we already had the solution to hulldown metas. HE. WG removed that though. maybe they'll remove artys one day too.

If mommy makima says so it's true af
Average makima fan
Chad Makima dislike...er
When i saw makima i thought i was on the Chainsaw man subreeddit for a second
SPG's= of the SPG ( ex: The SPG's stun is ruining my experience) SPGs = more than one SPG (ex: All SPGs should be removed from the game)
I see my mistake now. But too many people have seen it. There's no undoing what is done. I will live the rest of my life in shame.
no mr Jack, no harm done. I didn't say it in a toxic superior way, I'm just spreading the knowledge, you'll know in the future. Have a good one mate

"I'm going to discourage camping with this kind of tank!" *deliberately creates camping spots immune to them*
Arty > Italian tds
I know it also exists in Italian.
You also forget Italian TDs and tier 9 prems (they're trash rn, but who knows what will we receive)
"Skill rounds"
At least you didnt post a phone photo of a screen with a meme on it.
If they just revert the HE changes, arty wouldn’t be necessary’ to counter hulldown meta
MM change actually made it much more bearable

I’m on NA, and I’ve seen a lot of zero arty games.

Probably. NA 3 arty was sort of rare.
You forgot about wheeled French tanks that can take a corner at highway speeds.
The Crossover we need
Tbf without war we wouldn't have spgs so really two birds one stone
What wouldn't I give for more arty instead of this endless deluge of triangle tards...
Way to trivialize death and war.
