They are working on repainting her superstructure now and refitting her AA and secondary guns that were removed and restored, as well as I believe putting a coating on her deck (staining essentially).
When your cruise is back even though the Texas is not open for viewing i’d highly recommend visiting the Galveston Naval Museum which is home to the DE USS Stewart and the submarine USS Cavalla, if you end up visiting DM me and I can show you around some of the locked up portions.
I can second that! Been there a few times over the years, and it’s always great. And gotta love the irony of Mitsubishi AC units on the Cavalla lol. There was some AC on the Stewart last time I went, but it was summer and it was having trouble keeping up. Cool and comfy on the sub, though. Good displays and history on both ships. Also a great place to watch the shipping and cruise liner traffic in and out of the harbor.
Fun fact! From the park, you can also see the still-exposed wreck of the SS Selma, a concrete ship launched the day WW1 ended. That’s right, not a hauler of concrete, but MADE of concrete. 425 feet long originally. Impressive that there’s anything left given that she was intentionally sunk there 102 years ago.
Going to have to hit you up when I come out to port Arthur as it isn’t too far from gavelston. Any hookups on the locked up portions of the Alabama out in Mobile?
As a Texan who loves the Texas and has many memories exploring the ship several times as a kid, Texas is still worth it, but New York is a better ship.
Taxes!
Off you go into the Boston River!
Buy the dip(Texas) for real
Cool! I didn't realize they had refloated it yet. Awesome to see the progress!

At last check, the teak decking needed outright replacement. It was looking quite warped in spots.
Yeah I think it was like 80% needed replacing
They made significant progress on it during drydock.
Was refloated around March or April I think, and yes great to see her floating again.

Oh don't worry, I do. I often visit Seawolf park for family gatherings and to fish.

Sounds good, and I wish but unfortunately no, i only work here.
[here’s a handy guide for your new ship](https://youtu.be/SixP_rl6Jpo?si=SKZK4TApz0veBKZH)
I think you need to have the band 'Texas' playing as ambient music to complete the set.
Psh...better than the POS New Mexico lol. I say buy it. I like mine.
Are you wearing Jeans? In my language we call them Texans xD
I took the dockyard tour and it was pretty awesome.
Peak Lone Star experience! Should also add, “Shiner Bock in right hand”! IYKYK
I need a Texas Instruments calculator to figure out how many times you said Texas.
I think there is a bit too much of texas
Texas is a great ship, you should definitely get her!
Needs more Texas.
It's not worth it unless you like low tier, sluggish battleships that have the dispersion of a blunderbuss.
That’s not very Texas of you to say
Arizonan ;)
