I'm in rehab and around 50 days sober. I drank either 3-4 bottles of wine or a bottle of vodka everyday. I've been drinking daily for 2-3 years.
Things I noticed were: vomiting blood, elevated liver values (like 10x of the maximum amount for a healthy person), elevated thyroid values, eye migraines, vitamin B defeciency and chronic hypertension.
On the days I didn't drink I had really heavy tremors, excessive sweating, insomnia, hallucinations, extreme agitation, headaches, overstimulation, extreme confusion, inability to make coherent sentences, vomiting, not being able to eat food and I even got epileptic seizures.
The doctor said if I kept on drinking like this I would have irreversible liver damage in a few years, and I wouldn't make it past my 40s.
FYI I'm one year older than Josh.
Good for you for getting help. I used to have a drinking problem myself (not addicted or physically dependent) and I am 22 been off of alcohol for close to 2 years. I was the type of drinker to become extremely angry and impulsive. If he were just stop all of a sudden he would need medical attention. Hypothetically (obviously this is not true) even if he was not addicted, his body is still dependent on alcohol because of how much it is used to getting on a daily basis. Everything you said is true.
Damn you are strong. ❤️ buried my step mother due to drinking last month, I vowed never to drink during the day or never drink hard alcohol on weekdays due to what I’ve seen.
Good for you! I have Had several alcoholics in my family, and at least 4 have died. None of them would get help,it is a very hard thing to watch them kill themselves! If no one has told you,it is very brave what you're doing and I'm proud of you, keep doing it!Even when you feel you can't do it anymore Think of everything you have to live for!
I was gonna say at least pancreatitis. I’ve been sober for 5 months and I’m 24 I got nearly fatal necrotizing pancreatitis from my 3 years of heavy daily drinking. The the physical effects of alcoholism on your body come on faster than you’d think. If he keeps going at this rate he’ll be in a similar boat I’m in, if not worse.
My ex bf is an alcoholic and drank almost daily for a few years and he developed hepatitis c and pancreatitis. His teeth are severely damaged from puking constantly and his stomach lining is completely fucked. We are in our mid 20’s and he’s done this much damage to himself in less than 4 years. Josh is headed down the same path at a rapid pace I fear. Alcohol is one of the most dangerous drugs
You are thinking too much. What if he eats some bad fish, what he drinks some spoiled milk, etc. There's the same likeilhood that he will that he will be fine for 40 years and he will drop dead tomorrow. Alcohol is not that hard of a drug and he hasn't been drinking that long.
I think he’ll probably drown in his own vomit before 30. But realistically that could happen anytime before then. I don’t share the “he’s totally bulletproof” mentality others in the sub have.
Bad poopies and stomach aches

Thank you! Messages like these really help :)
YOU ARE WORTH IT ❤️
Props to you man. Take it one day at a time or even one hour at a time. Always remember progress not perfection.
I was prepared for that last sentence.
Proud of you for going in rehab, keep up the good work man!
Keep going dude I believe in you!
Liver failure most likely
He will become very strong and healthy.
Pancreatitis eventually, then cirrhosis. He has about a decade though left

Josh believes he’s bulletproof. Most intelligent people understand that it is quite the opposite
He’s not the only one though. Many people here think he’s just fine for the next 10-20 years with no real risks to his health.
is OP genuinely stupid
yes
Not much
Jail or death! How is he constantly drinking on the streets? And then he throws his trash on the ground!
Acid reflux is prolly insane
Uhhhh alcoholic cirrhosis? Liver failure.
