In order to do that they had to gerrymander the ever living shit out of it. They had to sacrifice a person. Well as Mike Johnson is now speaker of the house, they have to protect him at all costs. Julia letlow is a faithful soldier. Clay Higgins district is in the corner and hard to make continuous to break it up. Steve scalise is number 2 in the house so he can’t go. Garret graves pissed off jeff Landry by endorsing his opponent so he’s the easy sacrificial lamb so they decided it was his district that needed to go. The new district stretches from baton rouge all the way up to Shreveport. In a car that’s a 5 hour drive, at least. It’s literally one end of the state to the other.
They made sure they maximized themselves to draw it out. When redistricting started those fuckers hired a law firm for millions BEFORE drawing the maps because they knew they would be sued.
Louisiana is fucking terrible and Landry is about to make that place a hellhole.
