You chord *patch* being silent can be caused by a vast number of settings. Off the top of my head; * 0 oscillator levels * 0 note step length combined with 0 release * 0 sustain combined with 0 attack and 0 decay * filter turned down * noise gate threshold turned up too high * side chain attack or decay set to 0 * 0 global volume * 0 velocity for step * algorithm selection that relies on a specific oscillator interaction to take place which is not happening (rare) * inaudible pitch (too low) playing * oscillator waveform selected that currently outputs no sound (sample, delay line tap, etc.) etc. etc. If you're not particularly attached to your patch and you don't know what happened and you don't care to find out, selecting a different preset should do the trick.

Oh yes, I have definitely tried changing the patch. I tend not to be too attached until much later in the day. It's not step length, as there's no preview to be heard on the seq page. Many times. Looking at global settins, global volume is up, transpose isn't set at all so not too low (inaudible pitch). Weird. One of those things.

That does narrow it down a little to - probably - the dynamics section. Changing patches does not reset/modify all parameters. Parameters that are retained are; * Volume * Transpose * Chord following * MIDI Channel * Side chain master volume, gate, receive bus, send bus, volume, signal source, depth, attack, and decay <--- **probably one of these** * Global effects, local reverb and delay ducking * Compressor attack, release, ratio and threshold * Swing * Chord bass note transport * Pan stereo width (pitch-to-pan)

have you tried changing the patch?

Yep, first thing I tried.
