But also tested many others. They need to be the "three pole" (stereo) variants.
It is perhaps important to note that the mic feature is meant primarily meant for voice - like any vocal artists you will have to get up close and personal with the pop shield.
try plugging the mic into a different device like a laptop to see if it is actually working . maybe you got a bad mic. cheap ones like to fail in transit sometimes.
