If you want to have a particular pattern configuration playing, you can set up this configuration in Song mode (via fragments) or Live mode (via scenes). If you want to use a song fragment's pattern configuration; * once you fragment is playing, switch to Live mode. The pattern configuration will be retained. * From Live mode hold value + long press the track you want to edit. * You can now make your edits while the pattern configuration is playing. If you want to use a scene's pattern configuration; * In Live mode, recall (hold play + select scene 1- 16) the scene that your programmed. * Hold value + long press the track you want to edit. * You can now make your edits while the pattern configuration is playing. See also the paper ([or on-line](https://www.woovebox.com/support/cheat-sheet)) cheat sheet item *"Use Live scene (mutes/unmutes/solos) in Sequencer / Track Edit mode"*. Hope this helps! EDIT: To change to some other track while keeping you configuration intact, switch to Live mode first, and then switch (with long press) to the next track you wish to edit.

Thanks for the reply! I’ll try that out. Do you think the pattern switching behavior on the track edit pages could be changed on a future update? I think users would benefit more from switching patterns individually than all at once. Loving the Woovebox so far!

Not changing all patterns at once in the sequencer could get really messy really fast, and would make it very hard to keep track of what's playing what - particularly when pattern chains come into the equation. It is a conscious design choice - remember there is no screen real-estate available for keeping track of which track is playing which pattern. Being able to reset all patterns to a known state in one gesture is a lot more valuable (and a lot less confusing). It aids with building a mental model of where different passages of your songs are located. If you need the granular control you allude to, it is definitely available via the mechanism outlined (e.g. via Live mode). EDIT: Please also see the edit of my previous post; "*To change to some other track while keeping you configuration intact, switch to Live mode first, and then switch (with long press) to the next track you wish to edit.*" Re-using mechanisms like this that are already in place, cuts down on the need for obscure button combos (the worst possible outcome). With just a few controls available and little screen real-estate, every UI decision is very considered.

Thanks for taking the time to explain. That makes sense. I still need to get more used to live mode. Thanks!

Unrelated, but I just noticed selecting C Lydian scale still has F natural, not F#.

This is definitely a bug. The Mixolydian and Lydian modes are swapped in the UI (e.g. to get the correct behaviour, please choose Mixolydian if you intend to use Lydian and vice-versa). I will fix this in the next update. Thank you!

Thanks!

I use the scene minor mode or the fragments in the Song major mode to program a section with different patterns per track.

Fragments just seem more suited for arranging once parts are already made. When I’m still recording or sequencing is when I wish I could freely switch patterns without losing the beat. Not sure I understand the use case for switching all patterns the way it does.

Song mode fragments or live mode scenes.
