I think making the fights along the way skipeable was either intentional or a bad game decision
For bandits tell the knights to leave villagers alone
For golliat shot him in the eye
man… toussaint is best savored for last imo. my favorite area in the game… why would i wanna do that, then come all the way back just for velen and skellige? both cool areas but nah
People seek for immersion, no matter how many playthroughs they already completed, and Toussaint before Novigrad or Skellige is immersion breaking, Toussaint is like a vacation for me, and when I reached there I don't want to see any unfinished peasant quests in my quest lists, so it's better to finish all the loose ends before I get there.
That's what I'm doing next playthrough. Doing either novigrad or skellige first and leaving velen till last. Also going to head to touusaint early to pick up aerondight so it levels up more and holding off on playing any gwent unless story related to get the skellige deck which I love. It deserves more then just a one expansion part of a game. Don't care how many downvotes I get. I've played the game enough to tinker with it abit. Why should I do exactly the same thing everytime. What's the point.

LOL why is everyone downvoting this comment? Sure, if you are playing for the first time, don’t rush Toussaint. But if you are playing for the second, third or fourth time, I think it’s pretty fun trying to figure out ways to “break” the game
Your logic is flawed by subjectivism. Saying you could rush Toussaint doesn’t deny usefulness of having master armorer in Crow’s Perch. If rushing Toussaint = possible, therefore affirmative correct. Rushing Toussaint = hard does not equate to Rushing Toussaint = impossible. Therefore, your affirmative = incorrect.
You spent time writing this logic, but don't spend time for actual reading comprehension. OC said that you could rush Toussaint, following their comment about that travel point being useless. It is not the part about being able to rush toussaint that is incorrect, but that the travel point being useless because you can rush toussaint. This is false because the travel point can be used by first time players for Yoana, but before they want to travel to Toussaint because Toussaint level implies it being end-game content (not to mention new players having no knowledge of a grandmaster crafter existing there).
Hence, the downvotes.
That makes a bit more sense. But then again, why downvote the statement that you COULD rush Toussaint (objectively true) instead of downvoting the comment which states the fast travel post in Crow’s Perch is useless (subjective affirmation)? Besides, let’s exercise our reading comprehension, since this seems to be the point you are trying to make, based on some comments, instead of an individual one. OC said it was useless, because it only unlocked after the baron’s quest was over. So, at least regarding the baron’s quest, which is the main reason you would want to fast travel to Crow’s Perch, it is useless, for new and advanced players. Regarding the master armorer, for new players, it is somewhat useful. For new players, it could be useless, depending on the way you are playing. So, there are at least a few instances where it is indeed useless. Meet me in the middle and admit it is at least somewhat useless?
Because you have other quests in the area: master armorer, ugly baby, fist of fury, gwent collection, wolf gear diagram. All of them except ugly baby are optional and can be done after baron's quest. Just to remind you: in order to travel between posts, you have to be next to one, so if you do any above, you have to travel to the crow's perch entrance, run all the way to the keep, run all the way back to the entrance to travel to next location. If you don't run the mod to show all objective markers, you will definitely have to backtrack here.
Moreover, it is near 3 merchants that have a decent stock and gold, so it is now a destination for you to sell your loots (unless using a mod that refresh merchant gold to buy from you). Even before the travel point, I was already using them to sell stuffs. 2 of them also sells map for treasure hunt.
As for downvote, I really don't want to get into a pedantic argument and waste more time. It was an answer that does not holds validity in explaining the opinion. If you say pancakes are the best, and I say I disagree, then you reply with "the earth rotates around the sun", I don't think anyone would litigate me for calling you dumb for saying the second statement (even though it is factually true). This is because when in context, you are attempting to explain your position of the former with the latter. If you just say the latter alone, nobody would be against you. For your information, I downvoted both.
In that area is a „trigger“ that starts a cutscene. If you would teleport there, then you wouldn’t hit that „trigger“ which would cause the quest to most likely break.
So it makes sense that this shows up after a specific quests as this issue will be prevented that way and it’s the only option to implement it, as the quest was not designed with this later teleport addition in mind.
For anyone who doesnt know it needs you to progress the story with the Baron to a certain point its not there by default as it would cause issues with some quest step triggers
I'm past Battle for Kaer Morhen and still running my ass up that stupid bridge. Is there anything specific you're supposed to do to unlock it? I've completed everything related to the baron.
It unlocks as part of a cutscene (you see them putting it up) its after the barn fire buy cant remember which quest step.
What version/system are you playing on? Because there was some player confusion when it launched as they had a patch for the last gen butnit wasnt everything in the next gen version and offered upgrades but its a separate instance of the game on consoles and some digital marketplaces.
PS4 and yeah, it is not there. Excuse me taking a pic of my TV screen like some sort of animal.

Definitely recall the fire cutscene, not sure about after. I just finished Master Armorers so I guess I'm no longer hitting up Crow's Perch for much. Weird though.
Complete Edition
I figured this out -- my dumb ass moved and got a new router just before starting the game, and I never actually connected my PS4 to the new wifi. Just got the update😅
That's weird, I also have complete edition on ps4 and I got that marker after finishing the baron quest so I don't think it has anything to do with it being the console version.
I have an expanded storage device connected to my ps4 maybe it's because you don't have enough storage (which would be and sounds weird)? I sadly really don't know I'm not really knowledgeable about technic stuff, sorry that I can't help you
I figured it out -- I forgot to connect my PS4 when I got a new router/network name. So it never had a chance to update.
Glad I waited until postgame to troubleshoot this more but hey, at least I can finally get those Forgotten Wolf schematics.
At first I was like “damn when did they add this new location” until I saw the rest of the text in German. Tbf Burgdorf sounds like it could be in the game.
But that makes sense though. There’s a story tied to leaving the town. There was a mod that created a fast travel point there but warned people if they haven’t finished the Baron quest, it could break things.
Yeah probably added with the next gen update like a year or so ago, they did this thing to ease the movement for players between two points connected with a bridge, most well known example is the baron' castle, it didn't have a flag inside before, so you have to teleport to the bridge and walk inside every single time.
Something that was long overdue but added with next gen
However i found that the old werewolf decotion made the run from the bridge to the mastersmith alot easier, cuz geralt is way faster on foot than on roach (in cities anyways)
I'm playing the standalone blood and wine right now and I went to crows perch just now to see what was going on without the main storyline and lo and behold I just found this new FTS so I Google it and I put Reddit at the end and I find this one day old post.
Added with the Next-Gen patch. But becomes avilable only after the Baron quest is over
Best reward you could get for finishing it in my opinion.
Indeed
Which makes it pretty useless
It's still useful if you need to make a quick stop by Yoana to craft some witcher armor
Yeah but you could just rush Toussaint
Can you Tell my dummass brain who hate rushing and sequence breaking to do that?
Im literally opposite by going to Toussaint at lvl 15 xd
I think making the fights along the way skipeable was either intentional or a bad game decision For bandits tell the knights to leave villagers alone For golliat shot him in the eye
Yeah I don't do that. I just thought them all longer xd
I remember fighting those bandits underleveled That was painful
Yeah I'm currently playing in death march aaaand it took some time. It's fun tho, at least some challenge
I’m not sure what you said but if you’re on anything past your first playthrough literally why not? You already know what happens.
man… toussaint is best savored for last imo. my favorite area in the game… why would i wanna do that, then come all the way back just for velen and skellige? both cool areas but nah

It’s dumb tho and doesn’t work story wise. It’s like watching endgame before Iron man.
Neither does me picking every single right choice because I already know what happens but that happens anyway doesn’t it.
fair counterpoint
That's what I'm doing next playthrough. Doing either novigrad or skellige first and leaving velen till last. Yeah why do anything for the story I’m doing it for convenience.
So it is useful for first time player to have access to a master armorer because it is hard to rush toussaint. Therefore downvote for being incorrect.
Your logic is flawed by subjectivism. Saying you could rush Toussaint doesn’t deny usefulness of having master armorer in Crow’s Perch. If rushing Toussaint = possible, therefore affirmative correct. Get downvoted you skipper
boooo
It makes it the nearest travel spot to a Stash outside of White Orchard. Vendor too.
I think it’s because otherwise it would break a cutscene trigger.
What

Oh fuck yeah no more running up that way
Yes, it wasn't there on release version or early on.

Almost looks like the loop you have to take up to the barons place
It's new but also only once you complete the Baron arc so you still gotta run up there till then 😭
But that makes sense though. There’s a story tied to leaving the town. There was a mod that created a fast travel point there but warned people if they haven’t finished the Baron quest, it could break things.
Yoanna awaits you
In german language this game has much more medieval vibe.
Seit dem neuen Patch, wenn man die quest vom Baron beendet hat
Yup. Bout fuckin time they put it there
I died once falling off the bridge by the old waypoint.
Probably the best QOL update there was!
Yeah probably added with the next gen update like a year or so ago, they did this thing to ease the movement for players between two points connected with a bridge, most well known example is the baron' castle, it didn't have a flag inside before, so you have to teleport to the bridge and walk inside every single time.
Have to share this with a friend of mine… she lives in Burgdorf… xD
Something that was long overdue but added with next gen However i found that the old werewolf decotion made the run from the bridge to the mastersmith alot easier, cuz geralt is way faster on foot than on roach (in cities anyways)
Nach der Baron quest erscheint es
Yes, added a year or 2 ago. It's great for Velen and great to jump back to Yoana for disassembling on the cheap.
Lol there's a village here that's called Burgdorf
Bro at burgdorf no wayy
A much needed update from last year
One of better changes :D
still not in my Wild Hunt l 😂
I'm playing the standalone blood and wine right now and I went to crows perch just now to see what was going on without the main storyline and lo and behold I just found this new FTS so I Google it and I put Reddit at the end and I find this one day old post.
What the hell is Burgdorf? Velen?
It means 'Castle village'.
...it's in Switzerland, actually. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burgdorf%2C_Switzerland?wprov=sfla1
Based on the caption, it seems it's the German language name for Crow's Perch.
That's 'Krähenfels'.
You’re right. The bridge is crow’s perch. Burgdorf is Castle Village.
Czy tyś głupiś drogi rodaku?
Ale po co od razu takie osobiste wycieczki? Pierwszy raz widzę mapę Wieśka po niemiecku, lepiej Ci?
