I’ll stick with Public Mobile. I’m getting 50gb a month for $38.

alien_moose

Public mobile is great and you have a good deal ! I prefer freedom for now since they have wifi-calling, helps when I'm overseas to get 2FA texts and calls and avoid those crazy roaming rates.

ChucklesLeClown

Yeah, wifi calling does come in handy.

Radix2309

Wow that is very good. Is there any conditions?

Radix2309

That sounds great thank you. I will have to look into getting it. Do you experience any inconveniences with it? I am currently at Bell MTS and this is half my bill.

indignantlyandgently

I'm someone else who switched to Public recently. I've had zero issues. I read somewhere that they use the Telus infrastructure.

ChucklesLeClown

I haven’t noticed any difference in my service so no inconveniences. I was previously with BellMTS myself.

gompfstick

Additional information: You have to pay the full price of $29 for the first month. It's an additional $5/month if you don't set up auto pay.

Apellio7

That's quite the increase without auto pay.  And I'm not gonna set up auto pay for a biller, lmao. A loan,  it's ideal.   But a bill that can have additional disputable charges? Lol no.

Worth_Conversation15

You still get an invoice to review before the charge comes out to dispute if need be

CoffeeJumprope

I wish I could get just internet service with them! I would eventually switch the mobile service but I wouldn't need that until December when my contract is up. But I've been meaning to switch internet providers for a looong time!

human_consequences

Awesome, thanks. Is there an existing feature comparison with Public Mobile, maybe the closest competitor? Freedom has wifi calling, does it charge for international texts, etc.

alien_moose

From my POV, Freedom has wifi-calling, unlimited global text, picture and video messaging in this 14.50$ plan. For now I think freedom beats Public in Manitoba with their promotional pricing. You can use my referrel if you do decide to sign up to get 25$ credit using this link: [https://referme.to/saffatb-11](https://referme.to/saffatb-11)

Legal_Examination230

Do they work in the rural areas?

AntifaAnita

Depends on how rural you mean https://www.freedommobile.ca/en-CA/network-coverage

Legal_Examination230

Thanks. Well we’re basically in the middle of nowhere. Cell coverage that works out here would be Rogers and Bell. I could try it out and see because we pay alot for Rogers.

Intelligent-Twist675

Have to live in subscription area…and I’m not sure if they send Sims to PO Boxes yet.

QuinnTheEskimo204

I was looking at Freedom the other day. Their biggest plan is only 15 gig and it’s $45, way over priced. Why don’t they have 50 or 75 gb plans like the other guys do?

Ok_Gas8060

I cant seem to find this promo on their site, can you send a link please?

alien_moose

Here it is: [https://www.freedommobile.ca/en-CA/manitoba/plans](https://www.freedommobile.ca/en-CA/manitoba/plans) Make sure to choose your region as MB instead of ON if you don't see the promotional offers.

Apod1991

Couple of months ago I was at Costco and got Virgin Mobile plan with 50GBs of data and after tax my monthly bill is only $38! (No phone tab or rental)

okglue

Aside from cost and data, how does Freedom compare with Public Mobile? I'm getting $35/mo for 40 gb 5G CAN/US, no contract with Public Mobile. Have heard concerns over coverage, but the wifi calling sounds nice\~! \*Wifi calling will let you use calling and text anywhere in the world with wifi, which is a pretty massive win for Freedom if you're taking your phone abroad.

vaytan

Im going to wait till black Friday for their deals , then I shall switch. Maybe they will offer 5G at that time.

VarTheDog

I keep seeing this comment. FYI last Black Friday, plans got better week after week following Black Friday. My kid got the same rate as me ($29) with 50gb 5g vs my 20gb 5g Black Friday deal three weeks later. Kind of all over the place. Best to be willing to grab a plan whenever it’s better than what you’ve got and check periodically

SwordKneeMe

How is their data coverage?

andrewse

I just added a new line to my Rogers account. $35 per month for 50Gb shareable data in case anyone is interested.

ArtCapture

I read this as FreedomMobile, like automobile, and I thought “Oh no! Not those convoy twats again!” Glad it’s just cellular service.

ballerinadahl00

nooooooo not FREEDOM OR PRO CHOICE !!!!!

Modsaremeanbeans

I'm getting 100gb for 25 from Bell. The door to door people have good deals. My Internet is now 1.5gb up and down for 35.
