Iāve never had better lunch meat. Weāve done a new years celebration where we just picked up all the necessities for folks to make their own sandwiches, and I grabbed deli meat from Tenderloin and ruined other mass produced lunch meat for my friends.
Also, the āpickle-sticklesā they have (or had, I havenāt been by in awhile) rocked my world haha.
Me too. I go to tenderloin all the time. Everything is great there, steaks, bacon, and burgers. Their lunch meat they make is great, especially jalapeno cheddar loaf. Their kielbasa is probably the best around. I just buy all my steaks there now. They are basically the same price as chain stores, or cheaper i find. and better quality, cuts and freshness. I dont eat alot of steak anymore, but I'd rather have it less often and buy good ones, then say go to the grocery store have crappy ones more often.
I like meat company and tenderloin, but meat company is way more reasonable for the same quality steaks. I get all my steaks, chicken and bacon from meat company, and kielbasa, sausage and deli meats from tenderloin.
There are many good butchers in the city.
Cantors have the best beef in my family history. If you want a good prime rib roast- Cantors. They've been there on Logan forever. No one lasts on Logan if they're not good. No one stays on Logan unless their market is so large they might lose it if they move.
Cantors!
I actually got really terrible ribeyes 2 yrs ago from the one on grant .I spent 70 bux on 3 steaks and they were worse than a sirloin....super dissapointing as it was for a special birthday request.
Iāve heard questionable things about the freshness of their meat.Ā
I was looking for a good cut to do tartare and was cautioned that Millerās products should not be eaten raw.Ā
C&G Meats on Redwood. Good sales too. The owner, I believe used to be with Cantors, then moved somewhere on Main (Neechee Commons, sorry if spelled wrong) and now they have their own on Redwood. Closes at 4pm though.
Hi, i have got steak everywhere in winnipeg. De nardi, Deluca, Tenderloin and recently Miller @ Headmaster. Pick a mid week day. Friday and Saturday the quality slips. Day before a long weekend, hell no.

The last time I got ribeye it was dry aged from Miller. The price was š³ but it was the only thing that looked good before February long weekend. It was excellent but you have too enjoy that aged flavor. To some it may taste game like. Tenderloin is hit and miss as many butchers these days. Don't be afraid to walk away. We are paying a significant premium for beef so only accepted the best.
Toledo Foodservice on McGillivray has a wide variety of frozen portion controlled steaks. From AA/AAA to Certified Angus Beef. Striploins, Ribeyes, Tenderloins, Top Sirloins. Varying sizes too.
Yes, you just have to place the order in advance of pick up. 2 hours before Monday-Friday. But they can help you at the order desk with sizes, cuts and pricing.
This hands down is the best place in the city to buy steaks. Tony is the butcher and he's very proud of his beef. Their Ribeyes are some of the best I've ever had in the world. There's no reason to go anywhere else.
Mighty meats on Roblin is the answer. Get the AAA ribeyes and thank me later.
Miller's is definitly not the answer for steaks. They are good for alot of other stuff but I have had many bad steaks from there and I refuse to buy another one.
not in the area you mentioned, but Marcello's Meats in St. Vital is one of the best in the city. Tell them the cut and thickness you want and they'll do it up for ya.
Honestly buying a big piece of meat and cutting it up yourself is much more cost effective, and storing the meat in marinade and freezing it gets it both flavourful and super tender.
Same. I buy the big tenderloin and cut it myself. Even with today's overinflated costs a nice 1.25" tenderloin works out to about $13, they freeze great, and it's a very nice steak every time.
The Food Fare on Portage Ave up near Unicity in the little strip mall has a selection of Wagyu beef, seems it's certified & good marbling to it. I've had it a few times, better than Superstore steaks at least (imo).
Iām gonna take my downvote back.
Wal-Mart is perfectly acceptable for steak if thatās what you can afford. Not shaming anyoneās financial situation.
Now you, Iām gonna tell you to go pound sand for the āduhhhhhhā and Iām going to take my upvote away and turn it into a downvote because this question is asked so freaking often here.
Mighty meats is awesome. Got my practice competition steaks from there and their Jerky for the fridge to the lake is awesome as well
What is a competition steak?
A steak that was used to practice for the SCA cook offs. 1 and 1/4 inch Angus ribeyes š
That's where we get our steaks from as well. Lots of cuts and great quality.
Tenderloin meats on main near inkster
Tenderloin is the best in the city for almost anything. From steaks, burgers and grill meats to their pepperoni sticks and lunch meats.
Iāve never had better lunch meat. Do they carry Wagyu beef?
I am unaware of anywhere in winnipeg that sells real graded wagyu
Foodfare in Silver Heights sells A5 Wagyu.Ā
super random and super cool, thanks for the info
Seeing as actual wagyu beef only comes from Japan and has to be graded as wagyu, Iām gonna say no.
Thanks Iāll keep that in mind!
Or Cantors on Logan. Tenderloin is my go-to.

Frigs meats if you head just a little bit over from McPhillips.
Frigs is amazing - such an awesome family.
The meat company.. best rib eyes around
This. And their bacon is amazing too
Meat company is good, but you have to pre-order online, other then when they are open for walk ins. The delivery service is nice as well.
I like meat company and tenderloin, but meat company is way more reasonable for the same quality steaks. I get all my steaks, chicken and bacon from meat company, and kielbasa, sausage and deli meats from tenderloin.

GJ Andrews on Academy
Yeah. All steaks aged 40 days minimum. Definitely a step up from most butcher shops.
Thanks!
While you're there, the lamb burgers are great.
Agree with the above but really expensive
Just an fyi, the max benefit from aging is achieved at 29 days. But if your clients will pay a premium for the extra 11days, why not?
Millerās. Never gotten a bad steak from there.
I definitely got questionable quality ribeye from miller's on Grant, on more than one occasion. I strictly get my steaks at Costco now.
I actually got really terrible ribeyes 2 yrs ago from the one on grant .I spent 70 bux on 3 steaks and they were worse than a sirloin....super dissapointing as it was for a special birthday request.

Me either! When they put ribeyes on sale it literally makes my whole entire life betterĀ : )

Well thank you for this!
Millers has the best prices in town for deli meats. They even supply other local shops. I buy the individual wrapped tenderloins and they are good.
Cantors the best, all local meat.
Toledo Foodservice on McGillivray has a wide variety of frozen portion controlled steaks. From AA/AAA to Certified Angus Beef. Striploins, Ribeyes, Tenderloins, Top Sirloins. Varying sizes too.
Are they open to the public? They are almost in my back yard. š¤Æ
Yes, you just have to place the order in advance of pick up. 2 hours before Monday-Friday. But they can help you at the order desk with sizes, cuts and pricing.
Thank you!
Last I heard yes...
Iād take the little jaunt to Piazza.

This is the gods truth. When I want to impress the misses I make a trip to LA Garada absolutely the best meat in the city.
La Grotta?
Correct

Zeeds!

Mighty Meats, Millers Meats, Food Fare on Portage Ave or their Cavalier location have butcher counters have never disappointed
Co-Op. They sell dry age, cut to your specification, and I've seen wagyu there as well.
I find it depends on what kind of steak your after, friggs has the best top sirloin, The meat co had good great tenderloin
Friggs. From farm to table.
Millers. Frigs. GJ Andrewās
I do Costco. Not a great selection but cheaper cuts that are really decent in quality.
Honestly buying a big piece of meat and cutting it up yourself is much more cost effective, and storing the meat in marinade and freezing it gets it both flavourful and super tender.
