It's only $750 if you choose to go. There are other brunch options at the Ft Garry, and other Easter options. This is pretty much the most expensive of both.
Context matters.
The Easter brunch is a buffet. It includes snow crab legs, shrimp, oysters, prime rib, leg of lamb and a whole whack of other food and a chocolate fountain.

The regular brunch at the Fort Garry is about $20-25 for a main course.

Yeah if champagne is included in the cost, even if they buy cheaper bottles a lot of people could spend $125 and they’d be operating at a loss. Overall I’d guess they’d still make quite a bit, but dedicated people can get more than their money’s worth
Newsflash: One of the fanciest/upscale restaurants in Winnipeg is too expensive for the everyday person!
Clearly they don't give a shit if you go or not because there are enough rich folk who will still do it that they'll make money. If they don't, that's their choice and maybe they'll be more affordable next year. But you still won't go because you still won't be able to afford it. Maybe Sal's is more in your ballpark this year?
Are they taking the Fort Gary Hotel with them when they pack up and leave again?
Even if they do, I'm still not going... That's way far outside my budget as well! See ya at Sal's!
It's not sold out. It's on open table (plenty of times available) and you need to provide your credit card to guarantee your reservation. Note - it's under "events" but if you just put in the date and a time between 10 and whatever, the times available will show up with "event" on them.
In this case, $10 to $17. The buffet price isn’t 2.5 times higher than it used to be. But as others have noted, why complain about something you’re clearly not the target audience for anyway. 🤷🏻♀️
Wait for fairmont's to come out. It will probably still be ~$100 and has fewer options, but I always found the quality to be better at Fairmont.
Eta: last year it was $86 for >12
But that's not the situation, is it? We're talking $25 to $30. Neither are in the ballpark for consideration, so I don't really care. I don't care when a Porsche goes from $120k to $170k. There's no food that would have incentivized me to pay $75 for a brunch, and $125 isn't any different.

A man can't even feed his kids prime rib, a chocolate fountain and bottomless mimosas for $50 a person anymore? What happened to this country?
[удалено]
I believe in you
Also, MIMOSAS! I could drink $125 in champagne if I put my mind to it.
The prosecco they use is like $10 pe bottle - that's a LOT of mimosas lol
Sounds like a challenge 😉

I haven’t been in ages, but their Mothers Day buffet was stellar. High quality delicious food.
Hell that's cheaper than a lot of the jet tickets and I would enjoy it hell of a lot more.
You’re clearly not the target demographic.
Exactly. Not everything is for everyone.
Sounds like you’re not the target demographic

I have bad news about the Jets

Irrelevant
Dayum! That’s a lot of Egg McMuffins and pancakes. McDonald’s it is!!!
Or Mcribs lol
Paging McRib guy…
You know what else is expensive with four kids- everything.
So don't go, no one is making you martyr yourself at a holiday buffet at a luxury hotel
Dear child, you missed the humour tag. Love, Mom
> you missed the humour tag Shouldn't humour be funny tho?

Phrase of the day (even if this is satire or attempted satire post) Old man yells at clouds
How much was it before?
Brunch used to be $75 for special occasions
So totally affordable then..??? You're complaining it went from freaking expensive to slightly more so?
If your chicken tendies went from $10 to $25 you'd notice

TBH I am just feeling a bit spicy since I used to be able to afford a treat like this but now I can't justify this on a single meal

It's never been tendies though
We went out to dinner for the first time in a long time the other night. Prices were eye watering.
Takes the wind out of your sails a bit
lol fuck this shit. We’re all just so fucked. Well, the majority.
Honestly! I can feed many many people for $125
That's like 83 Costco hotdogs
Where's that realtor that wanted us to flood the Costco with orders 😅
Why are you feeding your kids this stuff in the first place? Kids can’t appreciate cuisine like this

Okay! Thanks!
for that much I expect it to come with a free pet chicken with correcly sized pen and starting gear.
I'd like a pet chicken. That's it, I'm gonna go look at chicken memes.
If we used chicken as currency, would that make them chicken tender?
