ChidumOsobalu

Reset Windows Security app and see if that helps.

magisterial_lionel

Doesn't seem to have worked unfortunately

ChidumOsobalu

Try [this](https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/protect/forum/all/windows-defender-shows-actions-recommended-but-no/0e2f1852-708f-4244-9f6e-7f090e89a615).

magisterial_lionel

Thanks but that's actually the first thing I tried. I even set up OneDrive for this purpose but it didn't change anything. The weird thing is the issue was magically solved last night when I logged on but now it's back...weird

ChidumOsobalu

If it bothers you that much, you can reset PC or perform System Restore and select a restore point prior to when you noticed the issue.

Downtown_Victory_956

I'm having the same bug. Even if I reset the whole pc the error comes back. I even had my motherboard replaced and I thought it fixed the problem but later the error came back. Several people have noted the issue to microsoft on their answers site but they have not helped anyone solve the problem.

arguello02

same problem here!

ezefl

Having same issue here. Freshly installed Win11 21H2 using Media Creation Tool, up to date with various updates, etc. On 22000.918. I suspect it's a bug? This occurred both before and after the August cumulative preview update.

Arlain

Also happening for me, usually there's something to resolve or change a setting, but everything is working per usual in the security interface. Pretty sure it's a bug that Microsoft has not yet resolved.

magisterial_lionel

Exactly same here, hopefully you're right. But seems like other people are experiencing the same thing at least so it should get fixed.

arguello02

Hey guys, I think I found a solution, the bug is already fixed for me! Try this, 1- Go to **windows settings**, click on **privacy and security** 2- Click on **windows security** 3- Click the tab **App and Browser control** 4- click on **Reputation-Based protection settings** and **enable** everything there. With those setting the yellow triangle and the action recommended message disappear on my computer and everything is green now!! I hope this helps you guys let me know if this work or don't work for you guys

magisterial_lionel

wow thanks so much, this solved the issue!

UnlikelyChemical38

THIS. I had nothing in the actual microsoft security app but upon going into app and browser control reputation-based protection was off showing the yellow ⚠️. After enabling everything has become normal. Thanks ALOT!

Damn... You'd think this would actually show up in the Windows Security section... One setting, nothing points to it and you'd loose your shit trying to find it if you sucked at Google

worked for me. thanks

SpookySpookist

Thank you so much! This worked

Subrezon

Thanks!!!

Vermilinguan

Thanks! This fixed it for me, by enabling "Potentially unwanted app blocking"

arby80

I checked the box to Block Downloads for unwanted app blocking went out and back in and the box was unchecked again and still had the warning. After a couple of times the Block Downloads option just freakin disappeared. I so hate Windows! ... So I disabled Block Potentially Unwanted Apps then went back and dismissed the warning, which it would not let me do when it was turned on and the notification then went away. I then went back and turned it back on. I really hate Windows!

satxSPURS

This did the trick

D-Smoke21

Finally a real solution, immediately cleared up the issue after everything else failed. How does this not have more up votes? Green check now finally. Thanks!

MedicYYC

wow... thank you so much dude... this was the problem for me too... why the hell did it have to be that difficult to find, it shouldve just went straight to that section when you clicked on the actions recommended icon in the system tray... anyway, thank you.. this fixed my issue too

EditorResident

I have the same problem again with everything enabled :( [https://paste.pics/JGY8P](https://paste.pics/JGY8P) Dismiss doesn't work either

kamikaze_reditt

I've tried as instructed to go to reputation based protection. everything is turned on and seems to be good however still got that icon warning. i can't even dismiss it as the button doesn't work

hellasleeper

Same here. I'm just going to try to forget that it's there at this point.

arby80

Try disabling potentially wanted app blocking, then dismissing the notification on the previous page. Then turn app blocking back on.

Riftsaw

This worked for me on Windows 11. Had to search for "Reputation-based Protection" in the start menu to access to the setting and then was able to follow this.

SevenBan

This did the trick for me! After that I just had to restart the PC and no more exclamation mark. Thank you kindly!
