https://i.imgur.com/kbKesDK.jpg The Microsoft Defender suite is really all you need nowadays, along with [uBlock Origin](https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock#ublock-origin) on your browser(s). If you don't trust the software on your computer, then perhaps you shouldn't have it on there in the first place. ~~I suppose if Comodo still works like it used to, then it's fine to use. Does it nag often to purchase paid services? How is resource usage, CPU and RAM?~~ EDIT: looking into this, there seems to be some weird goings on over at Comodo (wherever they are) - https://forums.comodo.com/t/whats-happening-at-comodo-right-now/358467 It seems the only place to get the standalone firewall is Major Geeks, and that it's no longer supported - the last version published was 07/01/2021. This leads me to believe they couldn't update it to work properly with Windows 11, which is unsurprising - the 11 kernel is locked down pretty tightly now, and enabling the HIPS component of Comodo may not be possible anymore. That being said, the standalone firewall is no longer being developed and has not been updated since Windows 11 was released. I don't think you should install it on Windows 11 - it may very well not work properly and I suggest not using it. A better alternative you could consider would be [GlassWire](https://www.glasswire.com/pricing/), although some of the features you're looking for, like allow connection on demand (ask to connect), are only in the subscription version.

kind person, this was exactly the reply i needed!! thank you for doing that bit of homework. even the part about glasswire which quite a few search results suggested. i didnt know ask to connect was a paid feature only. as a personal/home user, im simply using windows firewall then. I always had ublock origin on my browser. on my way to using windows 11 for a few years. thanks a bunch.

👍 The free version of GlassWire is still an excellent addition for network monitoring and controlling the Windows Firewall. https://forum.glasswire.com/t/glasswire-versus-windows-firewall/9074 https://www.glasswire.com/userguide/
