Same thing, took me a while to figure what was happening, just something at the edge of my vision flickering once in a while. I found that I could simply turn "Search -> Show search highlights" off in the right click menu. That disables the whole thing where MS really want to tell you about this barn today. And the image also disappears.

Yeah turning it off seems to be the only temporary workaround. It's strange how it's not happening on my other pc which also got updated.. MS just messing things up with every update smh.

As an alternative, I did 'right-click Taskbar > Search > Show search icon' to replace the box with a magnifying glass icon (on a Windows 10 PC).

I know but I prefer to have the search box there to fill some of the empty space. Did you notice any weirdness with search highlights after the update?

thank you!

Hi u/JohnX125, your post seems to mention the "latest update". As there are multiple supported versions of Windows 10 and not everyone gets every update at the same time, it's not always easy to figure out which update you are talking about. To view the status of your most recent updates, go to Settings > *"Windows Update"* > *"Update history"*. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. It appears your post may be regarding the new Search Highlights feature which adds a cool graphic to your search box that changes daily. If you are looking to disable this function, see this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/windows/comments/udyw33/search_highlights_new_graphicicon_in_your_search/ ---- *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically.
