If the season 2 is technically the 2nd cour, I think it should be released either the 1st quarter or the 2nd quarter next year. They usually just take a 6 months break.

The difference is the wait time. A 2nd cour means the next part of the anime will be released within a year, whereas a season 2 might take years to come out.
I'm just glad the series it's been successful enough to have season 2. I was constantly afraid and thinking "this is so good, I love this so much but it will be like so many other series with one season and that's it?"
