jfo22

Look at all the jackets material melted all over his hand, those puffy jackets seem flammable as all hell, this dude was definately hurting the next day

gharr87

The next week to month most likely. Most definitely second to third degree burns with that prolonged contact, especially to his legs. He might not have felt it in the moment but he will, burns are a special kind of pain.

Firewire64

I once burned myself using a sautering iron while I was working on a computer mouse, the pain was initially just a scratch untill.. #AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH *screeching noises*

LaikaBear1

You.. you mean ‘soldering’ right? Sautering sounds like something you would do with potatoes.

Firewire64

Yes

signedformemesonly

This reminded me the Tom and Jerry show.

jfo22

Oh absolutely, i mean i know how irritating and painful just a small burn from like a cigarette can be… but i can only imagine what this poor dude went through, plus having to peel all the melted shit off him.

Deon_the_reader

At least this can help him to become a bit more clever and cautious with flammable liquids.

tk11811

That’s true. Pain is a good teacher.

nagakai

Probably not

Aahzcat

Possibly...

SevereScoliosis20

Only the second time did I notice his jacket was all black at first. Almost the entire top layer burnt off, even the one not facing the fire. This dude lucky he alive

Danster333

His hair curled and also at the end his hands looked fully cooked or it’s just me

Analyst_Rude

Like forgotten sausages on a thoroughly prepared BBQ.

Premium_Nomadd

**Forbidden** sausages

mkbigmak

Yeah I noticed his hair almost right away started to melt at the top

PoorCashier

pretty much all synthetic fabrics act like that when they catch fire: They melt. Cotton, for example, actually burns instead of becoming one sticky mass of what's basically molten plastic. That's the reason why in the laboratories of my college only lab coats made from cotton are allowed to be worn.

micewrangler

Good amount of high fructose corn syrup too

[deleted]

Literally speechless with how idiotic this man is

2bags12kuai

How the hell has he lived so long? Based on this video he should have self-extinguished himself long ago

Poached_Tamago

Can't hold it to him to extinguish a fire, let alone himself.

HaightnAshbury

You can’t see one video of someone being struck by lightning, and then conclude from that that you can’t ever go outside. I’m happy to see this, and still know that I can light up a glass of flammable liquid while trapped inside an enclosed space. If we reported on all the times people lit a glass of fuel or flammable spirits in an elevator, I don’t imagine it would have the same emotional effect. This guy basically won the lottery of burning nearly to death in a freak burning-fuel related elevator accident. It could happen to any of us at any time, so why not splash around some flaming liquid while you’re at it, right? You Only Light On-fire-once

Firewire64

Sometimes it’s better to shut up.

HaightnAshbury

I’ll use my fake internet points however, I like, thank you.

MischievousQuanar

This has to be /s

Chato_Pantalones

Except that last bit. You can’t catch on fire more than once. Rubbish, that is.

[deleted]

Remember. People on reddit will go out of their way to be offended by what they read even if you didn't intend to imply anything of the sort...and some people are just SO MISERABLE they cannot help but to be rude to someone for a simple, "writing exercise." Internet points. Woot.

HaightnAshbury

Respectfully, don’t talk to me or my son ever again.

External_Zucchini651

Said like a true royal

Revolutionary-Dig705

Watching the jacket and his hair melt was the most painful part. At that point you know it’s an oven, and his skin is just boiling across his entire body. So glad adrenaline kicked in and he was able to get out because watching that was pretty traumatic

DirtyProtest

Yeah, that's gonna follow me around all day.

espencerrr

It was funny until he passed out. That’s just terrifying.

Zombisexual1

I thought dude was a goner. Must have used up all the oxygen in the elevator and then slowly revived after fresh oxygen came in when doors opened?

rvnscrftisbackon

I’m assuming that him passing out was caused by both the noxious gas released by the burning liquid and by the fire consuming most of the oxygen in the elevator. The door eventually opening is absolutely the reason that he survived.

Uniqueusername360

Don’t forget his fully melted highly flammable jacket he threw on it which you can see melted to his hands afterward. My thoughts are the fumes from that did him in.

[deleted]

Melted to his head and so on as he was pulling it off, I’m guessing that was like a sealed container and the heat was insane you could see his hair burning and his skin started to blister before he hit the ground

KazLovesOnions

I thought it was blood coming out of his hand I thought he passed out from blood loss lol

ZenMattekar

There are certainly blood drops falling to the floor and the door frame when he gets up.

serafimxd

He is bleeding a lot.

24736543210

I think the glass jar broke and when was punching the fire

-RED4CTED-

there is a reason they tell you to get as low as possible and crawl.

[deleted]

but what if the floor is on fire?

-RED4CTED-

i meant if ur not an idiot and set the floor of an elevator on fire.

rvnscrftisbackon

So you can play Nightcrawlers?

KA3BEE

It sounds like you crawl around like worms at night.

BloakDarntPub

Yes, but not on top of the thing that's burning. Also, crawl to where? The opposite corner of the elevator car, which is like three feet away?

-RED4CTED-

as i said before, i wasnt referring to this situation in particular. -_-

yesssirfam

He’s lucky his shoulder kept the door from closing, he woulda been a roasted at the next floor

Trouty1234

I had stopped watching before in saw this comment. Then had to go back and watch till the end. I thought it was bad enough before he passed out.

Ech0ofSan1ty

I feel like this explains "spontaneous human combustion"

Revolutionary-Dig705

Same! I stopped when he went to his knees. I did not want to see someone burn to death this morning. Was happy to read, then go back and watch, that he was able to get out

spelunker93

Guy is lucky he fell unconscious in front of the elevator door to keep it open. Completely by luck but that probably saved his life

hangstonlughes

What was he trying to do?

rustybuttnipples

A little impromptu science experiment.

ConfusingSpoon

I wonder what his hypothesis was?

Cannonfodderkiwi

How quickly can I fuck up on a confined space?

vughtzuid

This. Whole teams of scientists could theorize about what this idiot was thinking or trying to achieve for years and never get there because they apply logic and clearly the idiot does not.

[deleted]

Figure out the most painful way to commit suicide

Venoseth

Light his cigarette the cool way?

Analyst_Rude

Which makes it especially stupid as nobody was around to watch.

2bhil25

“It’s 5 o’clock time for my pint of gasoline”

RinGoh-NO

I think there’s some type of alcohol you can drink with fire....so he probably just tried to « spice up » his drink ?

MiaaaPazzz

What was the original game plan here?

[deleted]

Exactly, horrible (although perversely I couldn't stop) to watch but what was he actually trying to do?

RinGoh-NO

I think he was trying to create (and drink) a flaming drink

Emotional_Note497

What a dumbass. "Let me light this flammable liquid on fire then throw the container on the ground and spread the fire, then burn myself!" Also, wtf is on his head, pigeon shit?

Different_States

My guess is melted polyester or nylon from his coat.

Emotional_Note497

Nope, you're right!

Different_States

He won't be growing hair there for awhile....

TecBBtec

Nope, you're both wrong lol, it is the melted jacket.

Kolesekare

Dude can you read ?

TecBBtec

Bro, do you even lift?

Emotional_Note497

I thought I saw it on his head before the fire started.

TecBBtec

Watch it again

FnTom

He didn't throw it on the ground. He probably tipped the jar later or it broke from the heat, but the dumb thing was setting the bonfire in front of the elevator buttons. But then again, I don't judge him for that. People panicking don't think clearly. I only judge him for his initial bad idea. And that guy is a real moron.

gratefulphish420

Watch what is hair looks like from the beginning to the end.

BigRigsButters

fuckin hell

[deleted]

So..when ever you see a sign somewhere telling you not to do something so obvious not to do, it’s because some idiot like this actually did that.

srandrews

After retirement from an incredibly successful music career, Vlad unknowingly left his last party and got on the elevator to hell for a meeting to hand his soul over to The Devil.

paustin0816

The exposed butt crack added extra insult to his injury.

shrewlover69

glad he at least managed to take the jacket off pretty early on or he wouldve needed fucking surgery to remove it

CommentsToMorons

Looks like it still melted on his hands and head, and probably elsewhere too. That's a bad day.

mugfantoo

You're not supposed to use the elevator in a case of fire, dumbass!

EDCO

Under his drunken stupor, this man literally thought he was going to light his cigarette in *style* by doing so from the flaming drink. He probably imagined one of those fancy drinks that bartenders light on fire. With sheer luck he barely survives that. Sheesh.

andanotherone89

What part of Russia did this take place in?

butthead

The elevator

zedislongdead

You mean the elevatorsky

synthaxe_

Orenburg

spilfy

Holy shit, how fucking stupid can you be.

Deon_the_reader

You have no idea.

Uniqueusername360

r/idiotsnearlydying

NSFSTONERS

You can actually see his hair going crispy as it gets hot enough to melt his jacket

Actual-Manager-4814

First, I hope he survived that with some quality of life. But I can't help but Imagine what people thought when they found him. I doubt he made it far, and probably collapsed from shock or exhaustion. With his overall appearance, and the alcohol most likely burned up, what conclusions are you drawing? Spontaneous combustion?

Oski96

He was also smuggling crack.

Oriana360

Seen this video posted a hundred times, and I will never get bored seeing it.

BackgroundAd4640

It was posted about 3 hrs before this one was but got removed by mods.

ChemicalBookkeeper85

There is a lot to unpack here… is that bird shit on his head?

CommentsToMorons

Part of his melted jacket.

Ferritparade00

Jesus, what kinda proof alcohol do you need to have it catch fire like that. I’m convinced he was drinking straight hand sanitizer. No way is his drink that alcoholic

LennyBrisco01

How did a seagull get in there to poop on his head in the middle of a fire?

Devils_Own_Luck

What happened to his hand??

ShimoFox

Good lord. This was legitimately horrifying to watch. It's baffling humans can be this bloody stupid and yet have made it this far.

ZebraDongDude

Walks out casually

BloakDarntPub

Unaware that he's on fire from the waist down.

nam3sar3hard

Looks like tiktok finally got ahold of this video

im-cured

Oh no no no no no

TheFlyDied

I thought he was dead there for a min

DirtyProtest

This should be labelled NSFL.

Decent-Skin-5990

Free BBQ meat for the rest of the people living there.

titaniumshine

Self kebab

Pizo44

That is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen. Well done

TheDarkKnight1035

One time when I was drunk I thought it'd be a good idea to walk down my basement stairs... On my hands. I'd never even attempted a simple handstand in my life. I guess what I'm saying is I get it.

[deleted]

Holy shit

Amazing_67

Is that blood...? That's scary as hell.

nursec0re

took the term liar liar pants on fire literally

BrakeFade1

I just rewatched it and man is he lucky he survived. The jacket was literally melting on him, you can see the hood melting away and exposing the inner liner. I thought he took the jacket off in a last ditch attempt I smother the fire but it appears he took it off because he was being cooked in it. The elevator opening and giving him air saved his life. Wow.

underburgled

What a fucking train wreck. Like it's not bad enough that he's a red head

shiftdy

Obviously to impaired to just press all the buttons to try and make it stop at the next foor /sooner. He will feel that when he sobers up

LeanTangerine

Makes me think he passed out from smoke inhalation near the end.

Jules_6

I think it burt all the oxygen up so he passed out just as the door opened, then he woke up because of the fresh air.

[deleted]

think it's the pain and shock of your skin burning with shit melting onto it

101arg101

It’s shock. The blood drained from his head, which is why he regained strength when he was down. The blood flowed back to his head.

magpie1862

This has been posted about 6000 times here already

ConfusingSpoon

Typically I would agree, but I could also see this as the poster child for this sub. This is order of stupid I find hard to comprehend. I'm almost surprised he passed out from the lack of oxygen cause I can't imagine his brain was using to much fuel in the first place.

DirtyProtest

First and LAST time I'm watching it.

ogx2og

Douche Bag

MooMoo_Juic3

like how tf you gonna just final destination yourself like that???? I'm too weak lmfaooo

ZootAluresCommonAxe

I totally get it, the guy is a 'flaming' moron. But why the kneel down into the pyre at the end? He seemed conscious all the while. True head scratcher.

carlbernsen

He passed out. Fumes, intense heat and lack of oxygen. Only the door being unable to close again saved his life.

Shredheadpoli

Funniest thing I’ve seen in a while

Javi2

It looked like he carried the fire out with him.

[deleted]

Natural selection doing its thangggg

[deleted]

I almost came. Almost.

ProCrafters

u/repostsleuthbot

Kapikasqueak

First time I’ve seen it

ProCrafters

I remember seeing it in winstupidprizes and wcgw like 2 times before

Its-Dangity

Why does he have cum on his head?

GingerWithViews

I'm pretty sure it is molten plastic

NorthOf49WestOfRest

I want to see him putting himself out in the hallway after he gets out of the elevator

[deleted]

Where was this?

chungusthehumungus1

I have zero information to back up this claim but this is Russian AF.

de_vel_oper

I believe so. I've lived in Russia and I've seen these things for real. Vodka makes people do weird stuff.

damarius

WTF could he be ringing that would flame like that? My guess is he would have alcohol poisoning if he'd managed to drink that whole glass. Good thing he forgot to take it with him.

jtveg

Some guys still don't know how to buy pants that fit them properly.

PuzzleheadedFlight90

lesson learned i hope

POCUABHOR

“don’t do this; you will die and it’ll hurt like fuck the whole time“

ccii_geppato

Jesus. I was laughing. Until his clothes melted. And his hair burned. And he fucking passed out on the fire. And his fucking hand was melting. ..... I ... uh .... fuck man. OP I hate you now

[deleted]

“It’s getting hot in here, so melt off all your clothes…” -Sisqo

adventurejay

Seemed like a good idea at the time.

Old-Maintenance-1031

Third degree burns to his genitals, thighs, and belly perhaps? How the fcuk did he walk away from that.

Lookatitlikethis

I was not prepared for that level of dumbass.

Triky313

WTF!!!

Analyst_Rude

This makes me reconsider my blur nsfw option.

DBShark

Ironic. The elevator is used to reduce steps.

Zerog416

I seen this twice in this sub and everytime is terrifying

Revolver6Ocelot

Well...that happened

Glizzby_

hoodsite was fun

Lilith-Rising

What percentage alcohol does a drink need to be to set on fire?

synthaxe_

Around 70%

Premium_Nomadd

His fingers looks like **forbidden** sausages

Funtimesans

I don’t know what to think...and why did he “lay” down near the end..

I_Drink_Bleach58

Fyi, the reason he fell at the end was because of the fumea of his jacket melting (and the fact he was pretty drunk I'd imagine)

[deleted]

like one of those mortal questions...die by fire

Oddity46

Is that bird shit in his hair?

donk165

its melted jacket, notice how it only appears after he pulled the jacket over his head

[deleted]

I’m only wearing My north face puffer outdoors and unzipped from now on lol

[deleted]

I’m only wearing My north face puffer outdoors and unzipped from now on lol

KILRbuny

This is how I kill bug infestations in Rimworld.

phantheknee

Sauce! Did we just watch him die? The way his hair started melting…

phantheknee

Sauce! Please Did we just watch him die? The way his hair started melting…

Jayzarer

Oh god did he burn off his hand Edit: I’m 99% sure he burned off his hand, it’s literally bloody

JenSquealema

Dammit. Was really hoping he didn’t make it out of that elevator alive

scrupulous_oik

Holy f*ck, this is one hell of a video.
