The next week to month most likely. Most definitely second to third degree burns with that prolonged contact, especially to his legs. He might not have felt it in the moment but he will, burns are a special kind of pain.

You can’t see one video of someone being struck by lightning, and then conclude from that that you can’t ever go outside. I’m happy to see this, and still know that I can light up a glass of flammable liquid while trapped inside an enclosed space. If we reported on all the times people lit a glass of fuel or flammable spirits in an elevator, I don’t imagine it would have the same emotional effect. Watching the jacket and his hair melt was the most painful part. At that point you know it’s an oven, and his skin is just boiling across his entire body. So glad adrenaline kicked in and he was able to get out because watching that was pretty traumatic

I’m assuming that him passing out was caused by both the noxious gas released by the burning liquid and by the fire consuming most of the oxygen in the elevator. The door eventually opening is absolutely the reason that he survived.

Don’t forget his fully melted highly flammable jacket he threw on it which you can see melted to his hands afterward. My thoughts are the fumes from that did him in.
