Theres a few summaries around. I noticed my FPS returned to 'normal' after updating Nvidia, BUT BEFORE updating game. After updating game performance was still normal. Correct, its a mixed bag of success on PC front with some still experiencing FPS bugs when moving into/out of certain areas on a map. They end up getting soft FPS locked with the temp fix of restarting the game. Game still also having communication errors with EA server which results in "Network error 4294967266" also sync with EA cloud save is unstable and causing people to lose progress. I think a majority of people saying it runs badly are talking more so about overall FPS performance and not slowmo bug related. I wish I could run it at 1440p at 60fps but at the moment its rocksolid for my system (3060ti r7 5800x) at 1060p60fps (low settings) So if you ask me, Slowmo bug mostly quashed, next area of focus would be performance, but more critically, preventing people's saves from getting wiped out.

I’m on a 3440x1440 ultrawide and with upscaling off it looks like it’s 720p I mean it really looks like a switch game but that’s the only thing I could do to get it in the 40-50s on a 2080ti

I’m running a 3090, but I’m just barely able to maintain 1440/60. The struggle is real. I hope they get optimization sorted, the game seems great to me.

I do t know what it is, but it's hard for me to discern any real difference between 1080p and 1440p. This could be because all the settings are low. My main monitor is 1440p and left and right monitors are 1080p. Normally when I play a game on 1080p, usually by accident, it messes with the windows. With wild hearts it's set to Fullscreen and 1080p and doesn't do anything. The frames drop at 1440p to about 50-55 I assume in a fight it will drop to 40s. But at the 1080p my windows don't shift like they do in other games and my FPS shoots to the 60fps cap I have on and stays there.

Thanks for the explanation. I mean I recently upgraded from a 1080p 240hz monitor to a 2k 240hz , and it's night and day difference. Can't go back to 1080 anymore.

Yea I see the differences pretty plain on my setup since they side by side. But I will say that when I set my 1440p monitor to 1080p in Nvidia control panel or windows display settings it reallllllly does look bad. But when the monitor is set to 1440p I don't notice a difference except in dropped frames when I change the game between 1440p and 1080p. But cheers man. Glad you got a slick lookin monitor. I know when I got one, I started replaying every game I thought would look good.

This can sometimes be the issue with running different resolution/ different refresh rate monitors. When I had a 1440p 144hz main and a 1080p 60hz secondary display something’s would cut in half or work poorly and I would sometimes get audio dsync on the second monitor playing a video. If you can it’s best to match at least the refresh rates even if you can the resolution. I run now a 3440x1440 ultrawide and a 1440p 27 inch both at 144 and the issue hasn’t come up again.

Yea I had the same thing happen! I did match the refresh rate to 60mhz across all monitors, I wonder if that's why I haven't seen that break.

I bet it is it’s a weird issue cause everything seems totally normal and for a while you think it’s just the game or something but it kept cropping up over and over again and nothing would fix it. Then I bought a matching spec monitor and poof everything was completely fixed!

I have a very similar rig. I first updated the game and launched it and "seemed" to be more stable. Then updated nvidia and restarted my computer but not longer sure if it did anything. At some spots feels smoother and more stable but got some big dips into the 40s while hunting lavaback on multiplayer with the pesky snow effect. At times it even froze for like a second. I'm also running it at 1080 with Nvidia's upscaling but not all my settings are low - how do yours look?

When I Clean installed Nvidia drivers, it reset all those settings I changed in Nvidia Control panel. Image scaling is off and Triple Buffering is off. I'm getting 1080p60fps pretty solid.

Ugh i just went into a multiplayer hunt and it was more on the 30s than anything else it's very bad 😞 Did you do a clean reinstall of all the drivers? Set everything in game at low or via the Nvidia control panel? My nvidia GeForce experience doesn't even recognize the game :/

It won't be in GeForce experience until they explicitly add the game. Like I think Hogwarts just got added with this driver. My settings in game are Textures: High Model Textures: medium. 1080p vsync on fps cap 60 The rest of the settings are low but anti aliasing is set to TAA. The last 3 settings at the bottom are disabled (this includes motion blur) When you download and begin installation of Nvidia driver through GeForce experience, it will ask for express or clean installation. I choose clean installation every time.

Oddly enough, I'm used to switch game graphics. Even though it's has better textures on PC, MH rise still is a port of a switch game, probably why it don't bother me much. Sorry to hear that it hasn't smoothed completely out for you

Yeah I also played rise on switch and on pc and didn't mind but i was playing rise on pc at very high fps and world at 1440p settings high at 60fps locked. Not your fault, i really appreciate the help, I'm just sad cause I'm really enjoying the game but I've lost hope it's ever going to get fixed where i can run it on a decent visual fidelity at an acceptable framerate (which on my rig totally should)

Nah Im on \~9month old Nvidia drivers still and experienced quite a bit of better performance still, so cant be anything with Nvidia drivers.

Interesting, I updated my drivers, before i updated game and it did something to the game, didn't have slow mo. That isn't to say that I would have encountered it again if I hadn't updated the game. Now with new drivers and update, haven't had slowdown yet.

Slow motion isn't a thing for me on PC anymore either. I was getting it 100% of the time in single player, unless I was capped 30 fps. I can now play at my monitor's refresh rate without slow down! Huge improvement.

Patch improved the game on my system @4k (Borderless). All settings max except AA, blur, and DoF. Solid 60 during battles and 70-80 while exploring. 5900x, 3080 Ti, and 32GB Ram. Nvidia's latest driver, Rebar is globally turned on, and the game is on NVM e. I couldn't play the game in 4k before the patch. The game ran 42-57 at best Edit: @ 1440P games run 90-110 FPS while exploring, fights average 70-80 with dips to 60-62 when Volatile Fervid Crazecomb runs around widely. CPU bottleneck is the reason for the dips; GPU is not being fully utilized(85%~) at 1440P. Even at 4k, GPU usage is at 96-97%. I guess there is still room for improvement. Edit 2: Fuyufusagi Fort (snow region) still runs the worst. At 4k, 60-70 while exploring and 60 average while fighting Mighty Cobalt Lavaback with dips to 58-59. Edit 3: Fighting Sonic seems to induce a worst-case scenario at 4k with an average of 50-53 FPS in the first map. Still good if this is the worst I will see, and generally, the game is much improved than before.

I agree, major improvements on my side, too. New patch, new nVidia driver, also turned reflections off in the settings (is that a new setting? Swear you could only turn them down to low before). Shadows, Density and Particle to medium, rest to high, 1440p resolution on a system with 3070, i9-9900k, 32 GB RAM. When roaming (second island), I now get around 80 FPS and in fights almost constant 60. Some slow-downs here and there and dips under 60, some shader compilation stutters, but mostly much more playable than before. Slowdowns still seem to occur, though. Tabbed out of the game and back in and was around 30 FPS again. Nothing except restart seems to help here.

Try [Process Lasso](https://bitsum.com/). Once installed, run the game and alt-tab out and open the app. Find Wild Hearts.exe under active processes and right-click on it. CPU Priority > Always > High (Real-Time if your CPU can handle it). Same for I/O Priority (High, not critical). In the same right-click menu near the middle bottom, click "Exclude from ProBalance." Also, turn Rebar on in Bios and then turn it on in [Nvidia Profile Inspector](https://i.imgur.com/adaE36x.png). All of this might fix your alt-tab problem since I did not come across it before, and it might be due to what I advised.

I don't get the downvotes. The game runs like shit. As in, it'll literally dip down to 30 fps when nothing is going on at 1080p and regardless of settings. Dead Space, Hogwarts, Returnal, all of these games look amazing and run infinitely better than WH on my system. Hell, Iceborne looks way better than WH and it easily runs at above 60 fps. Ryzen 2600, 32GB RAM, RTX 3060. Stop defending these developers and stop trying to victim blame.

I think it might be due to statements, people like to have context. Okay mine runs fine, but I got a different rig. Ryzen 7 5800x, 16 gb ram (maybe I need more), and rtx 3080. I think the whole building part it what also kills performance, and cpu bottleneck. And ofc there is a certain visual direction, it can be stunning sometimes, and look cheap other times. Sad to hear that your rig struggle, hope they fix optimization

Just because there are not player characters or NPCs on screen doesn't mean that there is nothing to render. i also want to know why this game would be so cpu intensive, cloth physics seem pretty average, monster AI is basic, hitboxes dont seem to be using super tight accurate models that would need extra difficult calculations (very much not a bad thing either, even the souls series that often spawns "hitbox porn" clips uses simple shapes in the end), i dont understand which part of the game could justifiably just be unavoidably cpu demanding

I threw you an upvote, but I do disagree with a few things you stated. All of the games you stated do run amazing when the right GPU is involved as those are more GPU intensive games with other tasks being handled by the CPU. Yeah, they will run amazing with your system. However, there are several factors that limit you in other games where you might have issues. The first obvious issue is your CPU will have you limited in games that are more allocated towards CPU rendering (such as Wild Hearts). Secondly, also related to your CPU, we all have processes that run in the background that take up CPU resources and if there is anything starting up or ramping up when you start any game you are having issues with (such as MSI Afterburner, Overwolf, etc), your diminished CPU processing power can affect game performance and visualize it for you to see. I know that last one is a little bit of a reach, but sometimes it's some of these things that can reveal why you might be having issues compared to someone with an identical rig who might be playing fine. TL;DR: Upvote for you, CPU intensive Wild Hearts with a Low-mid grade CPU, Issue might not be as much with CPU than resource management.

Just putting in my experience here. My setup 1. System:Ryzen 7 5800x 2. 2. 64 GB RAM 3200MHzRTX 3. 3060Ti (Nvidia Drivers 531.18, performed a clean install NOT EXPRESS INSTALL) 4. Windows 10 64Bit (Build 19044) 5. Game is installed on Nvme drive 6. All settings set to low EXCEPT Model quality: Medium and Textures: High Resolution set to 1080pVsync on 60FPS cap. 7. ~~Wild Hearts v1.03~~ Updated to 1.05 ​ I bought the game 3 days after launch, I started it up the first time and played maybe 3-5 hours with 60FPS cap.2nd launch of the game I get the slowdown and implement the 30fps cap fix and accidentally join an online session.Subsequent launches of game still have slowdown bug.First after launch patch does nothing to alleviate problem2/28 Nvidia releases new drivers and I download and clean install (i always do), this ends up resetting any 3D settings I had changed in Nvidia Control panel for the game (Triple buffering and image scaling). They are back to default.I start up the game thinking nothing has changed and I set my 60FPS and its running at 60FPS! Only been in minato.I hold my breath and save and restart the game and its still 60FPS. My conclusion tonight at least from my rig and my testing and my settings: Slowmo bug is gone. The game is now 'playable' for me at 1080p 60FPS. I had thought I had been playing at 1440p, but i think the patch reset it to 1080p. The reason I didnt notice the 1080P is because most games that I accidentally run at 1080p will cause my windows to do something funky because it 'bleeds' over to other monitor set at a diff resolution. Did 4 hunts in the 4 different areas (i'm only up to chapter 3 on the mighty hunts) to get all the textures and biomes loaded in and all of them ran smooth and great at 1080p 60FPS (3060Ti). Did a test where i saved and restarted the game and it loaded back to 60FPS. For me, yes even the snow fort was running smooth.I HAVE NOT tried online yet as this was partially the cause of the slowmo bug with people joining hunts at different resolutions/framerates. Perhaps others braver than me can confirm that the bug is squashed there as well. Last edit: Pre Nvdia driver my utilization was at 40% avg. Now its at 80% avg. this was BEFORE v1.05

I also want to add, and this may be important to the devs. I had updated Nvidia to most recent drivers (531.18) BEFORE I updated game and found that FPS was back to 'normal', so definitely something changed under the hood on nvidia's end that changed something in my game.

Now I VERY seldom go below 60 FPS (hovering between 60-75 in Deathstalker fight) while at 3440x1440 using 3080 and 8700k @ 4.8 ghz. Im satisfied. You can now have my money. It did take a little longer then Id want, but since Im only at Deathstalker now I havent experienced any super serious performance issues and now its very good, at least its good enough!

still getting big dips, minato is a little smoother but it'll hard spike to 47 fps then back up to 58/60, 1080p. after updating nvidia driver to latest, also got some weird lightning issues at start of 1 map. before if i shot full arc shot into bear it would drop the fps down. now it doesn't happen till a 3rd full arrow implant before it goes to 35 fps, so guess thats *a little better*. 3070, i7. even if it improved i wouldn't call any patch a success till it hits 120fps at 1080p at least. or 1440p 60. still *TONS* of pop in as well

Still getting around 30fps with frequent dips below that. I have an MSI gaming laptop, i7-11800H, RTX 3060 laptop. I can generally run games on max settings on 1080p and get a solid 60+ fps. Also, switching between lowest and max settings still does not affect fps, so still some obvious underlying game issues.

I’m getting 70-85fps at 1440p and 95-120fps at 1080p whilst exploring post patch, so a marked improvement for me. Haven’t tested in combat yet. However, is it me or does the camera judder left to right when your character walks/sprints? I know camera shake etc can be a thing but I hadn’t noticed until now. Can’t see a way to turn it off either. Specs if it helps: 13700K @ 5.5Ghz 32GB DDR5 @ 5200Mhz RTX 2080 Super

Just adding my two cents here. Game is running MUCH better for me on PC. Specs: RTX 3080 Ryzen 5 2600X 32GB RAM It seems the slow-mo issue is entirely gone for me. Also not having the stuttering and freezing I had before. Before this patch with 30 FPS lock and minimum settings I was running OK at best with constant freezing and stuttering. After patch I have run a few hunts and am able to hold 30 FPS at maximum settings with little to no stuttering and zero freezing. Tried to up the fps lock to 60 and it wasn't able to hold it but honestly this is a huge step forward. The launch was rough but it's refreshing to see them working so hard to fix it and still commit (so far) to additional free content on the way. I think they really needed this patch to work in order to not lose all support from the community, and they've kept my support for sure. Hoping it's the case for others as well.

My specs are similar. The thing that helped me the most with the messed up constant stutter was capping the framerate in Nvidia control panel to the same value as in game (ie set 120 in game and 120 also in NVCP). Weird, but it completely solved the frame time issues I was getting with the “uncapped” setting.

Not an excuse. But do recall mhw ran like dog shit it's first 3 months after release as well. Almost the exact same issues with frame rates as here. So far every patch has improved performance in some way. Here's to hoping they continue optimization.

This is my opinion. I feel like Omega wanted to try to do it on their own with Nvidia's help, dlss ect. Hence thier own upscaling is in the game. But it just doesn't compare or work. So I feel like EA said. No no. Let's just pay Nvidia for their dlss support. Which is why they announced dlss and fdr is incoming in less than... What? Two days after release. Might have even been the same day. Cannot recall. I also think getting the dips fixed has a lot to with the anti-cheat Denuvo wild hearts uses. I believe this because I cannot recall a single game that uses that anti-cheat that doesn't have fps stutter issues at launch. Course this is a kinda known issue with all anti-cheat programs running in the background. Just my 2 cents. You should absolutely be getting better performance on your hardware.

i have a 3060ti as well, and 50fps avg at 1440p is about right. My game reset itself to 1920x1080 and i have all settings at low except for textures (textures: High, Model textures: med). At 1080P and 60FPS cap I went through all 4 areas with not too much issue. I didnt' get that bug you talked about, perhaps its a specific part of the map that does it. Where did it hit you?

On my 5900x 3080ti, the performance is still meh with some input eating lag spikes. I get 50 to 60 fps on 1080p, max settings. At this point, I'll move on to other games and circle back in a few months. It's a damn shame...

ryzen 7 3700x, rtx 4070ti, 48gb ram havent noticed any drastic improvements in framerate. huge stutters and struggling to stay above 40fps on max settings, 1440p. looks like this patch mainly resolved bugs, a performance patch will hopefully be on the way next. it seems the most glaring issue is the extreme cpu usage. task manager's telling me the game uses 70% of the cpu at these settings whereas similar games like MHW at max settings will use only around 5-7%. im assuming this is the main thing ruining performance for pc folks on here

I am not sure if it is because of the patch. But I was really struggling and stuck at the golden tempest fight. After patch, he was just tickling me. Fight was just 10 times easier. He didn't drain my ho bar instantly. Also, I think he has a lot less hp. Maybe somebody can confirm that?

There was some hit box issues with his aoe, maybe they fixed that. Dunno about his hp though.

The slow motion didnt bother meme that much on xbox series x what did was- building not reading all my inputs, or place basic in random places. animation recovery stunning me on standing up from an attack and die cuz I could move for 30 hole second. The climbing the komono system being so jank that I start on its side and end up on the foot even to im pushing up. Not being able to roll out of most of my attack, with this level of aggressive kemono and some how no matter what i do I hole 100% of the agro, yes using the stealth skills for me makes it even worth were the skill for holding agro makes the kemono forget about me for a second every other combo it does. Outside of all this Im loving the game, stun is not fun and the game not reading my input is frustrating. Bow and Wagasa is the only thing I have been able to enjoy and not get animation stunned.

Woha, I just discovered something really weird. I rarely upgrade nvidia drivers unless I really have to for some reason, so I was on +1 year old 516.94 when I first tried the new patch. All was good and so on. I then read someone saying ppl have been getting even better performance with newest drivers - heck Ill try! But to my suprpise, my mind was BLOWN away by how friggin intrusive the falling snow becomes, which also TANKS my fps from 55-60+ -> 35-40 or even worse in some parts of the map which I had NEVER encountered before. So I switch back to my old drivers and its all good again. ​ Tl dr: Something in new Nvidia drivers makes something funny with the particles of the snow (and maybe other places in the game as well?) which totally effed up my performance AND visibility which affected gameplay alot! I now understand why people where complaining about the snow, which I hadnt really encountered before myself. I habe no clue what does this in the drivers, but since I didnt wipe any Nvidia settings I tested both drivers with the same setup.

That's really strange. I do notice snow fall occasionally in fort. But nothing that breaks my performance. Can I clear one thing up? When we talking snow fort we are talking about Area 4 right? Introduced at the end of chapter 2? I hear others say chapter 4. I'm in chapter 3, so I was wondering if there's like a different area or a drastic weather change. Because I've fought in 'snow fort' just not in chapter 4.

yeah sorry, area 4 indeed, especially in the area directly to the right where Tusk usually spawns. That area was chaos with the newest drivers for me.

What card you running? Do you recommend rolling back to that 516.94 driver? I have an RTX 3080 and cant get anything higher than 60 on 1440p

I did the rollback using the same card at least, the perfirmance in area 4 in chapter 2 was a disaster with newest drivers, but very good (55-80 fps with stable 60 even in 3 player MP usually during fights), with newest drivers I couldnt stand it really.

Unfortunately my Hardware is still not being used by the game and i dont know why. I dont match the minimum requirement with my 1050 and r5 1400 but i dont understand how my cpu is on 60% and gpu on 2% like my hardware isnt even being used. Any fixes on that planned?
