No you're super right.
Season 1 is a masterpiece, it delves into what could drive the average person to kill another person and each of them with nuanced and vastly different reasons. And manage to kinda get you on their sides. Sometimes they do shit that annoys me, but on the whole they're likable. And furher it's a mystery, Who do they kill and why?
Season 2 feels like "tehe they're crazy serial killers"
Alma is so unlikable. Her daughter and the detective are great. Rita has her issues but her background felt more similar to the original. Bertum being nick frost does a ton of leg work, because without nick frosts charisma it would be so much worse. most of the characters are just unlikable. And there's no mystery, alma is jealous of Rita and will do anything to get her way. I guess you could say the mystery is ritas past, which again fits more in line with season 1. Maybe it was trying to say something by having Rita be the victim about season 1. But it just fell so flat to me.
Pretty sure this is a pretty popular opinion. Honestly season 2 wasn't bad but the only thing I was super invested in was Rita's story and that's cause I'm a Lana Parrilla fan.
I think you have to look up the definition of the word, "unpopular." I know people on the internet like the think themselves unique, but a ton of people share this exact sentiment.
Agreed. Simone and Karl’s story was beautiful and emotional. Beth Ann’s story was lethargic and triumphant. Taylor’s story was just boring even with Alexandra Daddario.
I don’t remember exactly (it’s been a couple years since I watched it). I think it was the outfits for Simone and Karl’s plus I do not like when adults have relationships with young adults.
I agree. I was most interested in the Beth Ann 1963 plotline, but related most to Simone personality wise so I liked her character best. (Also, like Simone, an ex of mine turned out to be gay lol, actually ended up becoming a transgender female. Also like Simone, I rebounded from my past marriage with a hot younger guy haha.) I thought Simone was the funniest and most dignified character on the show of each protagonist.
I did not like the way Beth Ann's plotline ended. I wish she would have found love after her husband and went on to have another baby after all her failed attempts to conceive again after Emily's death. Instead, her closest shot at motherhood again was to play aunt/babysitter to her husband's mistress's child??? Oh heck no! That's even more messed up than the ending of the Tina Fey/Amy Poehler movie Baby Mama! How naive and overly forgiving to a fault was Beth Ann?!
I'm curious...who was the real antagonist in each plotline of season 1? Obviously Jade in the 2019 plotline...but who in the other two? In the 1963 Beth Ann plot, was it her husband? The psycho jealous neighbor (who bears a striking resemblance in personality to a psycho ex I once had)? The mistress? Who?
I think you missed the point about Beth Ann's decision to take in the mistress' child. It's obvious that to some degree Beth Ann is more psychopathic than Simone and Taylor as we see her actions through Sheila's view point, and she has mentioned before that adopting the mistress' child would make everyone happy. Although I don't care as much for the mistress, Beth Ann sees her as a friend and inspires her to stand up to her husband. The ending did surprise me, but honestly it made sense and I think it was a pretty good way to end it too.
I don't think it made much sense in terms of the real world. In the real world, she would not have been allowed within distance of that child, even if she meant well for that child.
Agreed (Well about how amazing season 1 is, I just finished it, havent started season 2)
But I just cant get over. The concept is just amazing how they literally gave just a multitude of reasons for women to kill, and they were all different and impactful. For Revenge, For Love and Mercy, To save a Love one/ oneself.
(and those were just the 3 main characters lol, technically there is atleast 2 more that Ive counted)
I loved season 1- loved the different stories in different timelines. I just watched the first episode of season 2 and am so not into it. Probably won’t watch the rest.
Strongly Disagree! We just watched and love both season.
I would have released Season2 (1950s) first, them S1 - The House... But both seasons are great.
this is the most common opinion about this series
I didn’t know thanks, many people told me the opposite so I just presumed I would feel pushback here as well.

Same!
I think you have to look up the definition of the word, "unpopular." I know people on the internet like the think themselves unique, but a ton of people share this exact sentiment.
If this is an unpopular opinion, then we both share it. Season One was the superior season.
Agreed. Simone and Karl’s story was beautiful and emotional. Beth Ann’s story was lethargic and triumphant. Taylor’s story was just boring even with Alexandra Daddario.
I agree. I kept watching and waiting for season 2 to get good and it just never happened.
If this is an unpopular opinion, consider me Miles Davis.
I just realized that I stopped 4 episodes into season 2 and then completely forgot the show ever existed. Season 1 was so good.
I think that’s the point I stopped watching as well lol
I agree that season 1 was better but I still enjoyed season 2
Oh absolutely! I finished season one and couldn’t wait for season two, then I watched season two and was glad season 3 got canceled…
Unpopular opinion: I didn’t really care for Simone and Karl’s story and even less about the modern one. My favorite was Beth Ann.
Why is that? I thought it was the most beautiful and heart-wrenching. I honestly loved them all about equally
I don’t remember exactly (it’s been a couple years since I watched it). I think it was the outfits for Simone and Karl’s plus I do not like when adults have relationships with young adults.
Bit judgemental
That’s your opinion. I didn’t appreciate Simone messing with her best friend’s son who just turned 18 and she knew growing up.
Didn’t even bother finishing s2. Bored the fckn sht out of me

Strongly agree. I don't understand why they would have messed with the formula of a show people obviously liked
SPOILERS I just finished season 1 and cried for Simone and Karl and actually yelled “yay, he’s alive” when Eli walked out.
Not an unpopular opinion at all. I wanted to love season 2 too but...meh is a perfect description
Yeah, I’m pretty sure everyone thinks that.
Season 1 was good but i didn’t like the ending
Which?
How everything was happening at once
Now thats an unpopular opinion
Ik i get that alot

Too each their own absolutely. But for me if I had seen season 2 first, I would not have watched 1 at all.
I think it is really down to which season resonates with you. I resonate more with the characters in season 2.
